My Doula, More Than a Doula??

My experience with my doula (Shanice Jackson) was truly one of the most beautiful parts of my pregnancy journey. From the very beginning, she made me feel heard, understood, supported, and never alone. Her communication was consistent, her encouragement was genuine, and her presence brought me a sense of comfort and reassurance during a time filled with so many emotions, questions, and uncertainties. What makes her so phenomenal is that she didn’t just support me physically—she supported me emotionally, mentally, and wholeheartedly. She motivated me when I needed encouragement, listened when I needed someone to simply hear me, and showed compassion and sympathy in moments when I felt vulnerable. She always seemed to know when I needed reassurance, a little motivation, or simply someone in my corner. Although our time together was relatively short, the connection we built was incredibly meaningful. Sometimes, people come into your life for a short period of time but leave an impact that lasts forever. She became one of those people for me. She wasn’t just someone who was there because it was her role—she genuinely cared about me, my well-being, my pregnancy, and my daughter. She will forever be more than just my doula. She became someone I connected with, someone I trusted, someone who encouraged me, and someone who played a meaningful part in one of the most life-changing chapters of my life. And for that, I will always be grateful. Thank you for being phenomenal. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for caring. Thank you for believing in me. Most importantly, thank you for being part of our journey. You will forever be a special part of our story. ??

Shanice played a major role in a smooth and relaxing delivery.  She made sure my enviroment was safe and calming. When I was uncomfortable, she provided a massage for my back and feet. Most importantly Shanice advocated for me when I couldn’t. I was diagnosed with a severe case of preeclampsia and was given a magnesium treatment. It led to brain fog and it was very difficult for me to think clearly. I couldn’t do it without her being there and I am forever grateful.
