A good portion of birth or postpartum care is often covered by your insurance or HSA which I can help you navigate. Those who hire me for both birth & postpartum get a discounted postpartum rate of $55/hr. Included in my vast experience is care of preemie babies and twins. You can rest knowing your children are in the best of care. My postpartum support includes helping you recover better with scheduled sleep support, lactation support, and tips/education on how to navigate the postpartum period as best as possible. Sleep training is available once your baby is closer to 4-5 mos. of age. Before then, overnight care includes establishing sleep “cues” for your baby to set them up for an easier time learning to sleep well at night. Coaching for parents on how to maintain this sleep success is part of my postpartum service. My fees are based on caring for one baby or twins, distance to travel, and specific needs of the client - to be discussed at initial interview.

My family has been so thankful to work with Candace! Postpartum was much more tough on us than expected. We were blessed to have Candace overnight to assist us. Not only did she give our son incredible care, but also helped us navigate breastfeeding, gave us so many tips on putting our baby to sleep, and overall gave us insight on what's normal postpartum.
She was also a great talking partner for me as a new mom during my middle of the night feeds / pumps. She is welcoming and our son gave his first smile with her! We will continue to work with Candace as our family grows.

I cannot recommend her enough. Candace helped me through all three of my pregnancies! She provided unwavering emotional support throughout my pregnancy and postpartum, helping me feel seen, heard, and confident during such a vulnerable season. She gave me invaluable breastfeeding guidance and was an incredible resource when I developed mastitis and preeclampsia. Her compassion, knowledge, and calming presence made such a difference in my experience. Every family deserves someone like her in their corner.

We've had Candace with us on two birthing journeys and she is fantastic. She's incredibly knowledgeable and spent all the time we needed to feel ready for birth. We highly recommend her as your doula, whether your medical care team is wonderful (we love ours!) or if it needs supplementing.
Our first experience with her was with our first baby. At that point, we had no idea what to expect and, honestly, I was scared about the pain of childbirth. Candace provided a series of classes for my husband and I. It really put me at ease and gave me confidence in my body's (and mind's) ability to have a very healthy, positive, and natural birth. She gave practical tips for nutrition (backed with science and different studies!), readying my body physically, partnering advice so my husband and I could be an effective team, how to prepare a birth plan, how to advocate for yourself during labor, and so much more. Because of the preparation Candace was able to guide us through, I've been able to have two incredibly successful, non-medicated, non-tearing, births. (Our first-born was 8lbs 13oz, and our second was 9lbs 2oz!)
Not only is Candace available during our pregnancy journey and birth, she was also able to assist us postpartum as our lactation consultant, how to continue taking care of my recovering body, and checking in on our babies. Even when we had a miscarriage, she was able to provide lots of insight and encouragement during the entire process. She has lots of experience with different cultural backgrounds which was a plus for us —we're a biracial couple— and was also very supportive of our faith practice. She was accessible, flexible (Zoom or in-person), generous...
We can't say enough good things! She will definintely be our go-to doula if we decide to have a third ;)

I am super glad to have had Cadence as my doula. She is a very knowledgeable person, and her calm presence instantly put me at ease. I had a super busy agenda prkor to birth and naturally tend to be introspective, so I didn't want to talk too much leading up to the birth. Cadence completely respected my choices and my space, yet she was always incredibly available and very responsive, stepping up to support me even during late nights when I had questions about what to buy or breastfeeding.
?She was absolutely marvelous on the delivery date. My labor took 3h30 of push, and she stayed by my side all the time, constantly turning me and doing massages to get me through it. She made sure I was fully taken care of by keeping me hydrated (she is a huge fan of bone brithy) and fed, answering my questions, and helping me make decisions on the spot while fiercely maintaining my birth wishes. She also did a fantastic job supporting my family and my husband. On top of that, she registered beautiful pictures that are a great memory of that day and her postpartum support was thorough. I was super glad to have her on my side. She made me feel safe and relaxed and I super recommend her as a doula!

At first, my wife and I were opposed to getting a doula and thought we could do the process of giving birth by ourselves. But a friend of the family suggested Candace as our doula and couldn't stop singing her praises. After a little bit of back and forth, we decided to meet with her. Within five minutes of meeting her, we knew we wanted to have her as a doula for our birthing process. She had so much knowledge and experience to bring and when it was finally time to go to the hospital she met us in the emergency room 2 minutes after we got there. She was helpful and attentive the whole time and did all sorts of techniques and pressure points to help my wife through the process. She gave both my wife and I peace of mind through the entire experience and we recommend Candace to anyone who is pregnant and expecting a child. I can not imagine doing it without her.

Candace was so helpful in prepping me for birth. My birth ended up not being what I had anticipated but Candace was there to help steer us through all the trouble. She applied pressure during my contractions, advocated for me when the nurses forgot things and made sure my husband got some rest too. I couldn't imagine going through this process without her. She is amazing and I love her like family. I'm forever grateful for her.
