Elizabeth was not an official postpartum doula when I had my first baby but you would never have known. As one of my closest friends, she came to the hospital the night after my baby was born and helped me adjust to my new world.

Elizabeth came home with me and helped me get settled as a new queer solo parent. She got up every 3 hours with me to help get the baby to feed one way or another. She helped me sort out my feelings about a severe tongue tie and how best to care for my new vulnerable being. She helped me figure out how to keep a baby alive who did not know how to suck or latch and with a body that wasn’t making enough milk. She started me on my donor milk journey and helped me figure out how to source milk from strangers in a safe way. Over 40 people fed my baby and Elizabeth was paramount in helping me start that process. She helped me figure out how to get enough sleep.

Elizabeth was calm, supportive, direct, reassuring and inquisitive. She listened attentively, reflected back what I was saying in my sleep-deprived state and helped me figure out what I needed and how to prioritize. She was honest when she thought I needed to do things differently. She washed a bajillion pump parts, fed my baby with a syringe, changed diapers, organized the house, made sure we all ate and offered incredible companionship.

Elizabeth was caring and present and made, what could have been, a very stressful and tense postpartum transition joyful. She cared for my newborn and me in a way that forever changed our friendship and made me feel the most supported I’ve ever felt in my life.

I’m 32 weeks pregnant now and Elizabeth is planning to come be with me soon after this 2nd baby is born. I feel so grateful that she will be with our family through this next big transition. I feel any postpartum client that gets to have her care for you and your new being is so incredibly lucky.

Elizabeth was our postpartum doula for three weeks after our baby was born, and I’m so grateful we chose to work with her. Each time she visited, my world as a new mother transformed from one of fear and anxiety into one of joy and confidence. It was a bit of a Mary Poppins situation — I wish every new parent could have this kind of support.

Elizabeth has a remarkable gift for compassionate listening. She’d hear all the questions that had built up over the week, then gently show us the way, helping us grow more confident in how we nurtured our baby. During one visit, she cared for our baby for an hour while we napped and shared an observation we hadn’t noticed ourselves — she gently suggested he might have acid reflux. She was right, and it was something our doctor had missed. That kind of attentive, experienced eye is rare and invaluable.

I recommend Elizabeth wholeheartedly.

Elizabeth was our doula for our newborn baby boy, and the impact she had on our family in those early weeks cannot be overstated.

She came equipped with calm, hands-on expertise from the start — walking us through baby bath setup, proper washing technique, and a range of soothing methods that genuinely worked. Her guidance on using a yoga ball and the side-hold position was a game-changer for calming our son and helping him release burps comfortably. She also shared practical advice on diaper rashes and helped us get confident with diaper changes and clothing care.

What stood out just as much as her knowledge was her patience. She sat with us unhurriedly, making sure every question was answered. She also gave us the gift of rest — taking care of our son so we could recharge, which made an enormous difference in those early days.

We are endlessly grateful for Elizabeth’s warmth, knowledge, and steady presence during one of the most overwhelming chapters of our lives. We cannot recommend her highly enough. All good things come to families who have Elizabeth by their side.
