As someone who has a difficult time being vulnerable in front of people, I was more than comfortable and grateful to have Irene within my small, trusted group for my pregnancy and birth. Irene was there to support me during my pregnancy regarding emotional and physical needs. I’ve had a hard time with pregnancies in the past, and Irene’s always had a great way of helping me navigate my feelings and gave me the validation I needed. When my body was tired and sore from being pregnant, Irene was able to recommend positions and stretches that would make me more comfortable. Durning labor, this woman was my rock. I had told her from the beginning my wishes of needing someone to take charge for me and make sure I follow my wishes for my birth plan and pain management and she followed through. She was getting me in different positions as well to try and alleviate pain. While pushing, she was the force I needed to stay focused and not panic when things were getting to be too much. I was able to experience an unmedicated birth because I had someone who believed I could do it.
Having her there also, to be able to tell me everything that happened after the fact is another blessing. Hearing the story from others with different perspectives and see them truly appreciate it all warmed my heart. Especially knowing that she was grateful to be there for all of it.
Postpartum, Irene was there for me in many ways - she prepared meals for me, spent time with me, checked in on me, etc. The chaos of motherhood is something I’m a little too proud of sharing, but Irene had and continues to be supportive. I recommend her to anyone looking for a solid couching doula who is beyond expectation. She is caring, compassionate, patient and knowledgeable. She is all the things in which makes an incredible companion for journeys as special as pregnancy, delivery and postpartum.

Irene is a friend I have only known for 6 or so months, but she's now been with me for an everlasting memory. I decided if she wanted to witness a homebirth she would be able to attend, and be my doula. She was with me for my third live birth but my first time having a doula present. I can proudly say her presence made such a calming difference to my birth. There when I needed her and backed off when I needed her to as well. I don't think I'll want to give birth without a doula again, and I can proudly say that is because of how supportive she was during the birth. I am happy to have this shared expirence between us and I know it will only make our friendship even more special. I am so greatful for her calm, trusting attitude towards birth. Her hands on skills with counter pressure, hip squeezes and robozo holding me was amazing too. She kept me going with wise words and encouraging things when I was in the thick of it. I'll forever reccomended a doula to attend your birth and if you're lucky enough to have Irene, you will be blessed with wisdom and grace alongside your beautiful birth.
