I have been involved in volunteer and community-based work both internationally and within the maternal and birth-care field. During my time volunteering in Dakar, Senegal, I gained experience working within a different cultural and community context, strengthening my understanding of culturally respectful, community-centered care and advocacy. I also completed a volunteer placement with Pomegranate Community Midwives, where I supported the midwifery team with administrative and clinical-support tasks. My responsibilities included preparing home birth kits, organizing paperwork, assisting with colostrum collection kits, cleaning and maintaining supplies, and supporting day-to-day clinic operations. This experience provided me with valuable insight into midwifery practice, home birth, and the importance of accessible, respectful, individualized care. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to advocacy within maternal and reproductive health and have contributed to my interest in supporting families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
My birth doula packages range from $900–$1,200 + GST/PST, with sliding-scale options available. Birth support includes two prenatal visits, on-call support from 37 weeks, continuous labour and birth support, and one postpartum visit. Postpartum doula support is offered at $42/hour for daytime support and $50/hour for overnight support. Support can be tailored to your family’s needs and may include newborn care, feeding support, light household tasks, maternal recovery support, and compassionate guidance during the transition into parenthood. Limited pro bono spaces are available.
