We had the incredible privilege to work with Kiona & Jaya during both birth and postpartum, and I cannot recommend them more highly! They are both high integrity, professional, warm, compassionate, excellent communicators, passionate about what they do, and have a great sense of humor. From the very first conversation, they both quickly established trust, asking insightful questions, deeply listening, and setting us up for success.
I had my dream birth experience in large part due to Kiona’s expertise, and emotional and physical support during 8+ hours of active labor. When my water broke before experiencing contractions in early labor, Kiona’s guidance helped us to feel informed and confident in our decision to continue early labor at home before heading to the hospital after labor was well established. At the hospital, Kiona was an absolute rock star and helped me labor on all fours, in the birth tub, with a rebozo, etc. and stay hydrated/fueled. She advocated for us with upmost calm and professionalism, and brought amazing energy to every aspect of the birth. As an introvert, I went on a deeply internal journey - knowing Kiona was there at my side enabled me to fully commit to experiencing the full range of emotions and sensations of labor. She also seamlessly involved my partner in the birth and they formed a dream team! We are forever grateful.
During postpartum, Kiona and Jaya helped us settle into breastfeeding, diapering, soothing techniques, bathing, baby massage, learn our baby, manage maternal recovery, and get much-needed rest. We trusted them absolutely and relied on their expertise to get us through the critical first few weeks postpartum. I was feeling incredibly raw emotionally and their support meant so much to us as we established new routines and laid the foundation for our new family of three. They are also both awesome people that we enjoyed getting to know and hope to work with again!!!

I cannot even begin to express how grateful I am to have found these two incredibly kind, knowledgeable, powerful, and dedicated doulas. From our prenatal visits, to birth, to postpartum they asked excellent questions, listened with open hearts, and gave wonderful advice. When it came time to birth, we were so lucky to have Kiona's gentle power and certain energy to support us. She knew just when to suggest a position change, to add cozy candles, to use counter pressure or other contact, to move to the bathtub, and to make sure I was drinking water. She empowered me and guided me in a way that made me feel so seen and known. When it came time to make some decisions outside of our birth plan, it was so easy to turn to her expertise and experience, though she never told us what to do, just provided information and encouragement and because of her I feel so confident in the choices we had to make. She held me literally and figuratively through the contractions and I truly attribute her calm, but focused reminder to dig deep into my most primal self during pushing to be what kept me going and got baby out. I can't begin to express just how safe Kiona made us feel even when things were hard and scary. That safety is key in me looking back on a difficult birth with pride and comfort and it is Kiona's gift of connection and care that really fostered that for me. After birth both Jaya and Kiona followed up consistently and were invaluable resources for all of our questions and concerns. Working with Kiona was a dream come true-- she understood us deeply, has a great sense of humor, her instincts are remarkable, and she worked her butt off without breaking a sweat. These two doulas are magical and you can feel it from the moment you meet them. Their genuine hearts are enormous and their knowledge is endless. We are so eternally grateful to them for everything and cannot recommend them enough.

Jaya and Kiona were instrumental in making our birth process smoother and setting us off on our parenthood journey on the right foot post partum. Kiona was with us during our C-section and her help during the golden hour to get the baby to latch and get his first feed was priceless. Post-partum, we had no family help due to unforeseen circumstances but Jaya and Kiona helped us learn the ropes of parenthood and taught us to approach the chaos in an orderly manner. Jaya and Kiona helped me recover from my C-section and get active sooner, taught my spouse how to support me with the baby, and helped keep our home clean and organized in the meantime, which helped a lot with our postpartum mental health. Jaya and Kiona's help in supporting my breastfeeding journey also helped me get to a point where my baby is exclusively breastmilk-fed. Kiona's night shifts helped us get much needed rest during the early postpartum days. Overall, they were a critical part of our jourmey and we recommend their services strongly.
