Starr is an absolute gem!  I have had three births and three different doulas. Though the other women were lovely, Starr was by far the best! She is so caring, kind, attentive, and honestly a joy to have around! She is a bright light and a reassuring calm in one of the most intense moments of your life. She brings peace and quietness but also a strength and knowledge that is helpful beyond words.  When you are in the thick of giving birth and making weighty decisions, these traits are what you want.

She took the time to help us navigate our birth plan and asked extremely insightful questions that we had not thought of (even though we had already done this a couple of times!) She was so thorough and professional.

On the day of our son's birth she was ready, attentive, and solely focused on our family. She did her best to help us stick with our birth plan, but as it happened we had an emergency where we had to deviate from it and move forward with the decision to have a c-section. She helped keep us peaceful, helped us understand things I may not have grasped otherwise, and really helped bring a quietness to both my husband and I when we needed it most. After the decision was made not to have a natural birth as we had planned, we had the best time waiting for the operation to take place. If we were to have a fourth, even though I will need a c-section I would still have her by our side – she was that helpful and instrumental to a successful birth.

 If you are considering Starr, please do yourself a favor. My husband and I adore her and we are so thankful to have had her as our doula.

As the husband my wife’s comfort and care are of the utmost of importance.  Starr is a doula who is caring, attentive, and an advocate for your family.  She has a gift for translating 'hospital-speak' into real-world perspective.  Starr helped us navigate difficult choices without ever feeling pressured making her our anchor.  Because of her presence, we felt empowered to advocate for the birth experience we actually wanted.  She protected our birth plan and was incredibly attentive to my wife’s needs every step of the way. A total professional and a wonderful person.  Having Starr as our doula was the best decision we made for our delivery!

Starr was an incredible support during the birth of my first child. As both a mom and doula, she brings deep compassion and exceptional understanding of the mental, emotional, and physical aspects of labor and delivery.

From the beginning, Starr brought a sense of calm and genuine care that helped make this milestone feel peaceful and supported. To help us prepare, she patiently answered questions as we shaped our personal birth plan. Starr was never pushy or prescriptive; instead, she offered gentle, evidence-based guidance and empowered us to make informed decisions with confidence.

On the big day, her presence was grounding, reassuring, and invaluable especially when things moved unexpectedly fast. Starr supported us as we made some critical decisions and was so encouraging throughout my entire labor. I am so grateful for her care and believe she helped us to have a positive and memorable experience. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any expectant family.

Starr was an incredible presence during our labor and delivery experience. As a husband, you go into it wanting to do everything you can to support your wife, but not always knowing the best way to help in such an intense and emotional moment. Starr made all the difference.

She fostered a calm, supportive space and, just as importantly, trusted me in my role. She gave me the room and encouragement to be there fully for my wife—offering gentle guidance when needed, but never taking over or making me feel like a third-wheel. Her warmth, intuition, and steady reassurance helped both of us feel more confident and grounded.

With Starr, I felt like a true partner in the process, and my wife felt deeply supported and cared for. We are so grateful for her compassion, professionalism, and the respect she showed our family during such a meaningful moment in our lives.

Starr was with me for the birth of my first born. I had shared my birth plan/goals with her prior to the birth and she truly helped us to get as close to what we wanted as possible. I ended up having an unmedicated birth with her help. Her knowledge was always a comfort and never condescending or pushy. (She is extremely knowledgable and experienced) She was a sounding board for when we had to make decisions and I knew I could put my full trust in her. She worked seamlessly with my husband and mother who were also present for the birth. When I needed help coping she knew how to step in and give that help. I truly cannot recommend her enough for any mom especially if it is your first time giving birth. She is in it for the long haul. Starr is also such joy to have around and an encouraging friend at such an intense and important moment of life. Again, I cannot recommend her enough and my first birth was such a positive experience in large part due to her.
