I smile to write this testimony about Carol's doula service with 3+ year's hindsight and fond memories.

Through Providence, Carol and I connected when she was in doula training and I was carrying my fifth baby. Pregnancy and labor and delivery were nothing new to me, but I was open to having a sidekick for the journey given my feelings of being "old" and "deserving it". Neither of those feelings are reality, but nonetheless, Carol's service was appealing and welcomed. 

What a blessing Carol was! I could speak with her about all the pre-delivery concerns and updates with the pregnancy and she could refresh me on different things that my busy gaggle of young children inevitably sucked from my brain in the course of raising them day by day. Having a large family herself, Carol, is empathetic and a wealth of wisdom.

When delivery day arrived, Carol met my husband and I at the hospital which wasn't too exciting at first, but allowed for happy hellos. Once labor progressed further, Carol's presence was very much in the peripheral in just the right way. From my perspective which was focused on the hard work at hand, Carol assisted my husband in assisting me more than anything. This approach is exactly what we desired for our labor and delivery experience. Thankfully, we delivered a happy and healthy little girl without complications. We felt confident that should trouble have arisen during labor that Carol would have been a valuable advocate for us and helpful in navigating whatever we might have encountered. 

As far as after care, we didn't desire any further assistance from Carol, but we know that should that have been arranged, she would have again been a tremendous asset.

We absolutely recommend Carol as a doula and would be pleased to work with her again should we be blessed with another child!

I had two wonderful experiences with Carol Eddy as my doula for both my children's births and plan on having her continue to be my doula for any other pregnancies I have! She was very helpful with giving lots of well-researched information when I had questions both during pregnancy and after birth. She also was a calming presence during my labor process and helped my husband know how to help me as well.
