Hello!
When our first son was born, we were hoping for a home birth. I had read some natural birthing books and invisioned a birthing tub, surrounded by my husband, our cat and the natural sunlight of our woods. My AMA and late entry to securing a Midwife limited my choices.
Looking back, i would not change a thing. In searching for a NM, i was connected with Lori. She took us on as clients and i was so garetful. Being pregnant in 2020 meant connection was limited. Still, between our Lori's doula services and an online birthing class, we felt as connected as possible.
Lori provided us with what felt like endless information in the way of books, articles and online blogs. It all felt tailored to our individual interests. She helped us envision our journey and realize that we had the strength to make our birthing goals possible.
Lori provided us also with her time. She never once made us feel like we were asking too much. Our questions were meant with honest, easy to understand answers and evidence-based information to back it up. I really appreciated her knowledge and the practical manner in which it was presented.
Lori's kindness and calm nature is second to none. She wanted to make sure we were our own best advocates and also that we felt comfortable, prepared. Thanks to Lori we felt prepared for most anything.
That first child is now 5. He has a 9 month old brother who Lori also helped us bring into the world. We were so grateful for her help in both births. Doula must mean Angel because that is what Lori has been to us. I cannot reccomend her services more.

We cannot express how grateful we are for the wonderful supoort before, during, and after our two homebirths from a person as genuine, passionate, and caring as Lori. The births absolutely would not have been as perfect as they were if we had not had her.
During the pregnancies, Lori provided so many resources and knowledge about all aspects of pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and lactation. Any questions we had, she referred us to just the right information we needed.
During labor, she was very intuitive about what support I needed at each different phase. She utilized comfort measures like the TENS Unit, heat pads, fans, soft words of encouragement, reminders of my labor wishes, and STELLAR hip squeezes to help provide the best labor experience possible. Even my husband was so grateful for her help, advice, tips, and support during labor.
And then one of the best parts is the postpartum care. When it's all over, being able to talk with her about the whole thing. Sharing the highlights or things that I forgot to do or would do differently next time. It is also so helpful that she goes over all the postpartum care measures as well as lactation tips and advice.
During my first pregnancy, she also did a lactation education session with me. It was extremely helpful and easy to understand. It helped give me the knowledge and encouragement needed to have a great nursing experience for two children.
If you're looking for a sweet, knowledgeable, and skilled doula, I highly recommend Lori. ??

Lori was an amazing doula and helped me tremendously with the birth of my first baby. She was extremely encouraging during the labor process while I was in the hospital and was an amazing teacher while I was pregnant! She taught my husband how to do hip squeezes and they truly helped me through my contractions so much. She taught me how to use my pregnant ball, gave me so many resources for pregnancy/ labor/ and postpartum, was a calming presence during my hospital stay, and helped me learn how to latch while breast feeding. I couldn’t have asked for a better doula and will use her for all my future pregnancies!
