Type of practice: Solo practice

Clients per month: 1 to 2 births and 2 to 4 postpartum families

Postpartum limits/restrictions: No Hands-on Care: You cannot physically help with breastfeeding latches, cord care, or soothing a baby. You are a "consultant," not a hands-on nanny or nurse. Non-Medical Scope: You cannot diagnose postpartum depression (PPD), check incisions/stiches, or give medical advice. You provide education and advocacy, but the client must see their doctor for medical issues. No Emergency Response: Because you are "on-demand" and "cancel anytime," you aren't a 24/7 crisis line. Clients must know to call 911 or their OB for emergencies. Limited Observation: You can only see what the camera shows. You might miss subtle physical cues (like a baby’s skin tone or a parent’s body language) that an in-person doula would catch. Scheduling Gaps: Since it’s not a "package" with guaranteed hours, you might not be available for an immediate "emergency" session if your calendar is already full with other drop-ins.

Virtual Hospital Advocacy & Support I am your "pocket doula" during your hospital stay. While I am not physically in the room, I am available via FaceTime or Zoom to help you navigate medical conversations, explain interventions in real-time, and provide emotional coaching.

Attends birth center births? All Birth Centers
Virtual Birth Center Support: Navigating Your Natural Journey I provide a calm, expert "second set of eyes" as you navigate your birth center experience. While I am not physically bedside, I am available via FaceTime or Zoom to help you maintain your birth flow and process medical transitions.

Attends home births? Any Home Birth
Virtual Home Birth Support: Expert Guidance in Your Space I provide a steady, professional perspective for your home birth journey. While your midwife handles the clinical safety, I am your virtual "anchor" for emotional endurance and labor flow. Partner Coaching: I guide your partner through physical support techniques and environment setup (lighting, pool prep, etc.). Labor Landmarks: Use our on-demand sessions to check in during early labor or to help process the "mental wall" during transition. Transfer Prep: If a hospital transfer becomes necessary, I stay on the line to help you shift your birth plan and maintain your advocacy. Note: My role is strictly supportive and educational. I do not provide medical care, catch the baby, or replace the presence of a qualified midwife. Support is subject to your home’s internet connectivity.
