From my perspective as a husband and father, Mery’s presence during this pregnancy was nothing short of a blessing. This pregnancy required me to be everywhere at once, caring for our three other children while supporting my wife through a very difficult pregnancy. Being able to show up fully as a husband and father meant everything to me, and having Mery alongside us made that possible. One moment I will never forget was the drive to the hospital. Mery took the wheel without hesitation so I could sit in the backseat beside my wife. In that sacred space, I was able to hold her, pray over her, and support her through each contraction. The world outside faded away, leaving only faith, love, and connection. With the complications we faced, especially hyperemesis, there were many exhausting and uncertain days. Mery checked in consistently, offering reassurance, guidance, and comfort, reminding us we were never alone. Her presence brought calm and peace into our home, making the pregnancy easier to navigate. One of the greatest gifts she offered was caring for our family as a whole. When I needed to be fully present with my wife, she lovingly stepped in to help with our other children, allowing me to remain close to her without distraction. This experience was deeply spiritual for our family. We were prayed over continually, worship filled our home, and God’s presence was invited into every moment.Mery did not simply support a pregnancy. She supported a marriage, a family, and a home. We are profoundly grateful for her heart, faith, and compassion. She will forever be part of our daughter’s birth story and part of ours.

Some people enter your life for a reason. Mery entered ours at one of the most sacred moments we will ever experience.Mery was a doula student at the time, and our labor was her very first birth. Yet from the beginning, her calmness and compassion felt far beyond experience. It was clear this work lives in her heart.Throughout my pregnancy, she checked in often with kindness and genuine care. I struggled with hyperemesis, and many days were physically and emotionally heavy, but Mery never allowed me to feel alone. She listened, encouraged, and reminded me of my strength when I felt depleted. This was my fourth pregnancy, yet completely different from my previous births that required medical intervention. This time, everything unfolded naturally.Because of Mery’s presence, my husband was able to be deeply involved throughout labor. She supported our entire family so he could remain close to me emotionally, physically, and spiritually.I labored at home until the last moment, supported by both of them. We walked our neighborhood together as contractions intensified. Mery sang, encouraged, and helped maintain a sense of calm and trust, even bringing laughter into intense moments. When it was time to go to the hospital, Mery drove us herself so my husband could sit beside me in the backseat, praying and comforting me through powerful contractions. That ride became one of the most intimate moments of our journey.Within thirty minutes of arriving, our daughter was born en caul, with Mery right at my feet, steady and present. Her presence felt heaven-sent. Mery brought peace into our birth space and reminded me that birth can be powerful, intimate, and beautiful. We are endlessly grateful for the love and devotion she poured into our family.
