Attends hospital births? Some Hospitals
In the hospital, I work in harmony with your medical team to keep the focus exactly where it belongs—on you. My role is to offer steady emotional and physical support throughout labor, using hands-on comfort techniques like massage, counterpressure, movement and position changes, and breath guidance to help you cope with each wave. I also make sure your partner feels confident and involved, and I walk you through any monitoring, procedures, or interventions so you understand your options and feel supported in your choices. Hospital birth can be incredibly strong and transformative. I’m there to help you blend your personal birth goals with the resources available, creating an experience that feels positive, supported, and empowering.
Attends birth center births? Some Birth Centers
At a birth center, I collaborate closely with your care team to help cultivate a warm, low-intervention environment that feels grounded and supportive. I offer consistent encouragement along with hands-on comfort techniques like massage, position changes, breath support, and incorporating water when helpful. I support both you and your partner in using the natural tools available, helping create a calm space where you can stay centered and confident. Throughout each phase of labor, I keep your preferences at the forefront—sharing evidence-based insights about what might ease the moment and preparing you for what’s ahead as your labor progresses.
Attends home births? Some Home Births
During a home birth, which is always attended by a licensed medical provider such as a midwife or physician, I help cultivate a peaceful, nurturing atmosphere within your own space. I offer hands-on comfort measures like massage, counterpressure, movement, and breath support, while also caring for the small details that make a big difference in how you feel. I support both you and your partner so you can stay grounded and fully present, and I collaborate smoothly with your midwifery team to ensure your experience feels safe, well-supported, and truly personal.

Post a testimonial for Jessica Chung

There’s truly no way to explain how much Jessica helped our family during those early postpartum weeks. Bringing home our baby girl while recovering myself felt overwhelming, but from the moment she walked into our home, she brought such a calming and comforting presence.
What I appreciated most is that Jessica doesn’t sugarcoat postpartum or pretend it’s always easy. She’s honest that this stage can be hard, exhausting, and emotional, but she also knows exactly how to encourage and reassure you when you need it most. I always felt listened to, supported, and never judged.
She cared for more than just the baby — she cared for our whole family. Some mornings she would quietly take over with the baby so my husband and I could get a few uninterrupted hours of sleep, while also helping with bottles, laundry, and tidying up around the house. Those small acts made a huge difference in our recovery and mental health.
By the end of our time together, Jessica felt more like a trusted friend than someone we hired. I would recommend her to any family looking for compassionate, hands-on postpartum support.

Hiring Jessica was one of the best decisions we made during postpartum. The transition into life with a newborn was much harder than we expected, and having someone so nurturing, organized, and experienced by our side made all the difference. Jessica walked into our home each day ready to help however we needed — caring for the baby, helping us learn soothing techniques, preparing small meals, straightening up the kitchen, and reminding us to take care of ourselves too.
What I appreciated most was how attentive she was to me as a mom. She really listened when I was struggling, exhausted, or anxious, and she always knew how to support without ever being overbearing. There were times she encouraged my husband and me to go rest together while she cared for the baby, and for the first time since delivery, we actually felt like we could breathe.
Jessica brings such warmth, patience, and positive energy into a home. She made our postpartum experience feel supported instead of chaotic, and I honestly cannot imagine those early weeks without her. Any family would be lucky to have her as part of their journey.

Jessica became our postpartum day time doula after our premature twins were released from the NICU. Our benefit was through Carrot and she got us everything that we needed to submit to them in an organized and timely fashion so that we could get reimbursed. Jessica helped make my postpartum life much more manageable & enjoyable. Our life and house were a mess from an urgent c-section and extended NICU stay, so it was a huge relief having her around to help us get things back together, on track, and in order since we do not have family in the area. After working with Jessica a couple of times I had complete faith and confidence in her caring for my premature twin girls. So much so that I was comfortable leaving my girls with her while I ran errands or went to appointments. Jessica was flexible, understanding, and forgiving of our varying schedule. She cleared her schedule to watch our girls while I underwent a procedure, on short notice, and that speaks to her character and willingness to help. Jessica also offered to help with anything around the house when she had a free moment. Her performing simple chores for us it made a huge difference in our day to day life. In summary, if you are looking for a day time postpartum doula who you can trust, who can help you get your life back on track, and who can help your postpartum journey be more manageable look no further and expect to gain a friend in the process :)

Where do I even begin… Jessica isn’t just any doula, over the past several weeks, she has truly become part of our family.
As first-time parents, my husband and I were absolutely terrified to bring our precious little one home, feeling like we had no idea what we were doing. But the moment we met Jessica, we knew our daughter was in the very best hands. She brings such a calming, confident presence, and her support immediately put us at ease. She even makes sure our dog feels included, bringing him a treat every morning she comes — which speaks volumes about how thoughtful and attentive she is to every little detail.
Jessica is truly everything you could want in a postpartum doula. She is incredibly knowledgeable, so easy to talk to, and made me feel completely comfortable during such a vulnerable time. Beyond caring for our little nugget and teaching us along the way, she somehow also finds time to bake for us and help tidy up the house, which has been an absolute lifesaver and allowed me to truly rest and recover. I honestly owe my (surprisingly) positive postpartum experience to her. Her support has been invaluable, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any family looking for a compassionate, hands-on doula.

Working with Jessica and Nurture Postpartum and Newborn Care as our postpartum doula was truly life-changing. She supported me after the birth of our second baby, and the difference her presence made was incredible. We worked with her for six weeks (2-3 times a week) and having her support allowed me to actually rest, recover, and bond with my baby in a way I never had the chance to with my first.
Jessica stepped in by helping with meal prep, light cleaning, and caring for the baby so I could take the breaks I desperately needed. It really made our transition into life with two little ones so much smoother than the first time around.
I’m so grateful for her support and would recommend Jessica to any family welcoming a new baby.
