I truly can’t say enough good things about Sam. Those first weeks with newborn twins were intense, and she brought so much calm and structure into our home. She kept detailed notes every night on each baby’s feeds, diapers, sleep, and anything she noticed, and before pediatrician appointments she helped us organize what was actually worth mentioning or asking about.

She cared for me and my husband in ways I honestly didn’t expect either. She did foot soaks, gave me massages, and would even comb and braid my hair when I was too exhausted to think about taking care of myself. She made sure he ate, got fresh air, and felt appreciated too. Those little things made us feel human again.

One of my favorite things about her was how intentional she was with our older son. He was struggling with suddenly having two new babies in the house, and Sam never treated him like he was being difficult. She created little opportunities for him to bond with his brothers, gave him special jobs, and made him feel like he had a mission. You could actually see him becoming proud of his role as their big brother.

I miss her all the time. We still have a photo of all of us with Sam on our refrigerator, and I think that says everything. She became such a special part of our family during a season we will never forget.

Hiring Sam was hands down one of the best decisions we made after having our son. I was tired, emotional, struggling with breastfeeding, and our house had somehow become everybody’s favorite place to be. I love my family and friends, but baby… I needed people to go home.??

Sam helped me set boundaries without feeling mean or guilty about it. She reminded me that postpartum was MY time to heal, bond with my baby, and have some peace. She could tell when I was getting overwhelmed before I even said anything and would make sure I ate, rested, showered, or just got a minute to myself.

She was amazing with our son, but what really stood out was how much she cared for me too. I felt protected, supported, and so much more confident as a new mom. Her expertise is unmatched, she knew everything I wanted to know, and explained it to me in digestible terms.

Every new mom deserves a Sam. Period.

Sam has a rare gift of combining professionalism with intuition. She helped us understand our baby’s cues, offered guidance without judgment, and brought a calm, reassuring presence that changed the atmosphere of our home. She made us feel supported, educated, and deeply cared for, and our family is better because of her.

I also quickly realized that Sam’s standards for safety and newborn care are exceptional. Her knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to recognize and respond to our baby’s needs gave us a level of confidence and peace we didn’t know was possible. She helped us choose safe baby products and know what to look for when shopping for baby too.  I trusted her completely, and that trust was one of the greatest gifts she gave us during postpartum.

Sam has been with our family through two completely different chapters. She was there when our twins came home, and again when we brought our second baby into the world years later. Both experiences couldn’t have been more different, but the one constant was her calm, steady presence.

This time around, as a second-time mom, I thought I knew what to expect, but postpartum hit differently. When we pulled in the driveway with baby fresh from the hospital, she was standing at the front door with our twins, and somehow made the transition feel peaceful and manageable. She asked thoughtful questions about my recovery and feeding, and her expertise shows in how keen and aware she is. I ended up having milk production issues and she connected me with an amazing lactation consultant and even a pelvic floor therapist.

What I love most is that she sees the whole family, not just the baby. She helped the twins feel included, made my husband feel included and heard, and reminded me to slow down and rest. Having her by our side both times has been such a gift. She truly becomes part of the family.

Samantha came into our lives right when the world shut down, and came back to us too when we had our second baby in 2023. In 2020, we were first-time parents who had no idea what we were doing; We were terrified but also didn't know what to expect with the new "normal" but somehow, Sam brought peace back into our home. She took every safety precaution, but she never felt distant — she brought warmth, calm, and this steady sense that everything was going to be okay.

What stood out most was that she didn’t just take care of the baby — she took care of all of us. She checked in on me when I didn’t know what I needed, helped my husband find his rhythm as a new dad and stay involved and needed too, and made sure our whole home felt settled again. She just got it — the exhaustion, the emotions, the little things no one prepares you for... especially with a global pandemic!

Looking back, I realize she wasn’t just helping us through postpartum — she was helping us become a family. And we loved her so so much that when we became pregnant again, she was one of my first calls! She’s a rare kind of person who makes you feel seen, safe, and capable all at once. We’ll never forget what she gave us.

From the moment Sam stepped into our home, everything felt lighter. I’ve had nannies and other support in my life, but very few have the intuition, calm presence, and emotional intelligence she carries. She didn’t just care for our baby... She cared for us as a family — me, my baby, and my husband! Sam has a way of seeing what each family member needs. Whether it was the rest I was afraid to ask for, the reassurance my husband didn’t know he needed, and the peace our baby instantly responded to, she was right there.

She brought warmth, structure, and just a sense of safety that made our home feel sacred and peaceful again. She created a space where I could be honest about the hard parts, where my husband felt involved instead of invisible, and where our baby was held in the calm we’d been craving.

Our family found our footing because of her, and our hearts found a friend for life. I tell everyone I know that Mustard Seed Doula is not just postpartum support, it’s almost like restoration for their whole family.
