I had an exceptional experience having Jocilyn as my doula. From my initial consultation call, to her ongoing support before, during, and after labor, she has been a wealth of knowledge and offered so many resources and so much support as I navigated several unforeseen changes to my birth plan. My original plan for an unmedicated birth changed when I found out Baby was breech. Jocilyn helped me navigate this unexpected change by providing emotional support and resources for flipping baby, including exercises and an ECV specialist. 

Jocilyn joined me for my spontaneous birth (c-section) and was truly such a calming and knowldgeable presence. From the middle of the night call and guidance, to hospital support with contractions, Jocilyn was with me through each phase of my labor and delivery. She supported me through early labor, c-section surgery, and early breastfeeding. She also caught the most special pictures that I wouldn't othersie have been able to catch. During post-partum, she has also been hugely supportive. I know I can reach out to her for questions or support, and she's already provided me with many resources I know I can trust. 

I know I can go to Jocilyn with any questions big or small, and I have really valued her knowledge and network. Her support through this journey has been extremely valued. I couldn't recommend her more!

Working with Jocilyn was the best decision I made during my pregnancy. My husband and I felt informed, confident, prepared, and ready to advocate for ourselves and the experience we wanted for our son’s arrival. Every interaction left us feeling more at ease and encouraged, which is priceless during pregnancy.

I went into birth with an intentional but adaptable mindset, hoping to labor at home and deliver with as few interventions as possible. Following an uncomplicated pregnancy, I was suddenly recommended for a medical induction for gestational hypertension at 37 weeks and 5 days. Jocilyn was the first person I called. She met my tears and shock with compassion, warmth, and encouragement. She reminded me how much agency I still had, helped me reframe the situation, and reassured me she would support me every step of the way.

During my induction, I advocated for more time to allow my body a chance to labor on its own. Jocilyn supported this without question, reminded us of helpful tools, and was always just a text or phone call away. Knowing she was in our corner was incredibly comforting.

Throughout labor, Jocilyn encouraged me to ask questions, gather information, and ultimately do what I felt was best for me and my baby. She helped me slow down, focus, and trust myself.

Jocilyn is as knowledgeable as she is warm, as supportive as she is non-judgmental. Through every plot twist, she was a steady presence cheering me on. I will never forget how she showed up for me, and I would choose to have her in my corner over and over again.

Jocilyn is absolutely amazing! From the very beginning she had my best interests at heart and was fully in tune with how I wanted my labor to go.

Due to labor complications with my first baby, there was a push for a potential 39-week c-section from my OB. Jocilyn gave me the confidence to navigate this situation feeling good about my decisions. The result landed us with a 38-week induction, a smooth unmedicated delivery, and a 9lb 2oz baby being delivered without complications.

I attribute this to going into labor informed and stress free. A few things kept the stress away: I knew Jocilyn would be there to fill in the gaps on anything I wasn’t knowledgeable on. I knew Jocilyn was there to help me work through any pain that occurred. I knew Jocilyn would be there to make sure my birth plan was followed through on.

During delivery, Jocilyn helped me navigate the different stages of labor with the perfect balance of movement and rest. She offered position suggestions that helped navigate baby into the right place to move labor along based on lower back pain I was feeling. She made sure I stayed relaxed the whole time with a dark room, music, aromatherapy, hydration, and food.

I didn’t portray the normal signs nurses look for to determine what labor stage I’m in. Jocilyn stayed in tune with the changes in my facial expressions, body movements, and contraction readings the entire time. Thankfully, she used these signs to grab the nurse right before the start of my VERY quick transition.

My husband and I are very grateful that Jocilyn was a part of our pregnancy & labor journey. The outcome could have been very different without her assistance and I wouldn’t have the blessing of being able to look back on my labor as an event I can cherish. I feel so powerful after delivering unmedicated and I can’t thank Jocilyn enough for making this dream of mine come true!

I cannot express enough how amazing Jocilyn is. My original doula was unable to attend the birth due to a medical emergency, and Jocilyn stepped in as a substitute doula. (What a happy accident for me!) She met me at the hospital and immediately put my anxieties at ease. She was calming, attentive, present, helpful, knowledgable, and encouraging for me and my partner.

The moments that stick with me most are when I received an epidural - it was an awful experience and looking back I think I was having a panic attack throughout. The only reason I was able to get through that was because of Jocilyn's support. The second moment was right after my son was born - he was rushed away for being born "stunned." Jocilyn talked me thorugh those long minutes, reassured me and held my hand. I am forever grateful. She's also been an invaluable resource for me postpartum. I will NEVER be having children in the future without her by my side!

I cannot express how invaluable it was to have Jocilyn by my side during my birth experience. Before hiring her, I was feeling extremely anxious about birth. I really wanted a low-intervention experience but didn’t know where to turn or who I could trust to help me achieve that. Jocilyn was key to helping me feel in control and empowered during labor. 

She was always professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and realistic. Jocilyn listened to all my concerns and even helped me connect with a new provider whose practice better aligned with my birth goals and care needs. I truly do not know what I would have done without her. When I was in the most pain, she was there with the tools I didn’t even know I needed. I loved that she was so inclusive of my husband. He was very committed to supporting me during labor, but wasn’t sure how. She taught him how to best support me and it made my birth very calm and manageable for both of us.

The birth of my first child is now one of my most cherished memories. It was such an empowering and pleasant experience. I couldn’t have dreamed that my first birth would go so well, and I credit Jocilyn for helping to make it such a special and positive experience. Now, Jocilyn still checks in on me postpartum, and I know I can count on her to point me in the right direction when questions or concerns arise. From prenatal to labor to postpartum, Jocilyn is your gal! I loved working with her and wholeheartedly recommend her to any expecting mom!

I can't say enough good things about Jocilyn. She was a last minute substitute for my original Doula, so I met her as I was already induced and starting labor. From the moment she walked in, she had a smile and magnetic, positive energy that put me at ease. She came prepared with tricks and tools (fairy lights, suggestions for movement, etc) that I would have thought she had done this hundreds of times. She was incredibly knowledgeable and confident, which put me at ease, so I could focus at the task at hand. She felt like a true partner and I really couldn't have asked for a better suited doula for me. I trusted that when I told her something that she would relay it to the medical staff in a kind, yet strong, way. I never had any doubts that she had my back and was going to get me through what turned into a very much unplanned 48 hour labor and emergency c-section. Throughout all my emotional and physical hurdles, she talked and walked me through and I am eternally grateful. My daughter was born on Christmas Eve, and as we were approaching Christmas Day, Jocilyn made it clear that even though she has a young child, she would be remaining by my side and they would celebrate Christmas when she got out. I still can't believe how kind and important that was to my mental stability, and luckily, it was a non issue!
