I’m Xana (pronounced like Shawna), and I’m a Mexican-American L.A. local raised in both the San Gabriel Valley (SGV) and San Pedro. I come from a long line of community organizers and caretakers, so it’s no wonder how I arrived to this path of being a postpartum doula. Some of my former job titles include: Elementary School Science and Outdoor Education Specialist, Nanny, Outreach Programs Coordinator, and more. I am able to draw from those skillsets to support families through evidence-based research, effective education strategies, and a gentle, nurturing, nature. Fully Vaccinated (Flu, Covid, TDAP), First Aid/Infant CPR Certified, Bilingual English/Spanish, 20+ years science teaching experience pre-K to college, Inclusive advocate for BIPOC, QTPOC, and LGBTQIA+ communities, Lover of all pets (dogs/cats/rodents/birds, etc.) Parent Outreach Committee - Doula Association of Southern California (www.dascdoulas.org)

Fee Details

For birth doula services, I only provide prenatal birth support: prenatal education + labor/birth coaching. Each session can be 1-3 hours. Hourly rates are the same as Postpartum services. For postpartum support, shifts are a minimum of 4 hours. Low income families may inquire about reduced fees. I am an approved Medi-Cal doula provider.
