Hi, I’m Rae! A professionally trained Birth and Postpartum Doula, mama, lifelong hair wizard, and the heart behind Mother and Crow Births. My work is rooted in presence, compassion, and care for the transformation that birth brings. I believe birth and postpartum are sacred thresholds, moments of deep becoming, and I’m honored to walk alongside families as they navigate this tender time. My approach blends the practical and the mystical, offering evidence-based, holistic care for both the emotional and physical needs of new parents. I proudly provide affirming support for LGBTQIA+ and gender-expansive families, as well as anyone seeking conscious, inclusive, and heart-centered guidance through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Whether I’m holding a newborn, braiding a mother’s hair, or brewing tea for tired parents, my goal is always the same: to help you feel seen, supported, and at ease in your own becoming.

My experience with Rae as my birth doula and postpartum doula was amazing! Rae attended my birth and was there for me through it all, start to finish. Rae regularly checked on me throughout pregnancy and stayed in touch as I navigated many prenatal appointments, always checking in, staying up to date with me, offering a caring and thoughtful approach throughout. When labor started, my partner stayed in touch with Rae with progress updates. Rae was available immediately and arrived to support me through early and active labor as soon as we asked, and went to the hospital with us for continued support. Rae’s presence throughout my labor was so reassuring, gentle and strong, and they offered words of encouragement and affirmations, supportive touch, and took care to offer hydration, nutrition and relaxation techniques. I truly felt like Rae was there for me and my partner, and was so kind and validating of each of our experiences. Our baby was born in the early hours after nearly 25 hours total, and Rae was sure to stay with us through baby bonding “golden hour” and even returned later for a check in.
Once we settled back home, Rae continued on as our postpartum support. It was wonderful to have additional support during the tender new weeks as a brand new parent, following birth. Rae helped provide encouragement during a challenging breast-feeding journey and was especially helpful with newborn care so that I could tend to my personal needs for a better healing. I absolutely recommend Rae as a birth and postpartum doula.
