I gave birth to my very first baby, a girl, on January 16th 2017. It was a home birth and was attended by two midwives, my husband, my best friend, and of course my doula Chris. My birth experience was amazing and so rewarding, and I wouldn't have done anything differently. The success was due in part to Chris and her awesome service. She was right there with me all through labor and delivery, and even the next few days. During labor and delivery I knew that I didn't have to worry about anything except focusing on my contractions because she was there to take care of everything. In addition, she was invaluable during labor and delivery because she helped me through my contractions and took my feedback with a "Thank you". I would not have had such an amazing birth experience without her. The night right after the birth she stayed and helped take care of my little girl so that my husband and I could get some sleep. Chris did everything from holding my baby while I took care of myself to cleaning my house to cooking meals for us. She even cleaned my toilet! In addition, she would message me every day before she came over to see if we needed anything from the store. Having someone around after your baby is born to fill in the blanks makes all the difference. If you have someone to help you, you can really focus on enjoying your new baby, learning how to take care of your new baby, and also having time to take care of yourself. This is a service I would recommend to every expectant mother, and it is a service that Chris is exceptional at. She is kind and nurturing and really gives her all to what she does. We were so very blessed to have her. Thank you Chris, from the bottom of my heart!

very nice to have some one helping your wife through the brith of your child and Chris does and amazing job at that. you and your wife will be really tried after the fact and Chris will make sure your house is clean, you are fed and that you can get some sleep. The first night she stay at our house and watched the baby for 4 hours so my wife and I could get some sleep. Then she came back for the next 4 days helping us any way she could. Chris is a really positive person and will help your wife get three the whole thing. Definitely give Chris a 10/10 and would rehire her and I hope you will too. Thank you very much Chris.

I was fortunate enough to have Chris McBride as my doula for my homebirth! She was knowledgable, caring, compassionate, and most importantly wonderfully supportive through all stages of my pregnancy and postpartum time! She was available for all the questions I had before, during, and after the birth, and she has a calming presence that was much needed during my labor! She is an amazing prenatal massage therapist, and did my birth photography, taking beautiful photos that our family will treasure! She also did my placental encapsulation, making it so easy on me in that crucial time after the birth to just relax and not have to worry about the process in my postpartum haze! I would recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat, any expectant mama would be lucky to have such an amazing person on their birth team!

Chris was amazing. I'm a first time mom and also first pregnancy, she was always there when I needed her for all my questions and concerns. She took great pictures at the hospital and came over to help out when we first came home. She's very kind and supportive and I would recommend her to anyone.

Chris McBride is nothing short of the doula of your dreams. She's knowledgeable, compassionate, gentle, and kind. She is especially skilful at listening and creating ease and comfort. All of that AND she is passionate about her work! Our family was blessed to have Chris as our doula with the at home birth of my second child in 2012. I was nervous about birthing at home, but wanted that experience and I dare say that Chris made that possible by inspiring confidence in me while I was laboring and by being the respectful and loving supporter that she is. I have a network of doula friends, but I trust Chris McBride most and would truly pick her to be my doula should I require such services again.

I first met Chris McBride about a month before I was due. I was introduced to her by my brother who's roommate is her son and she's an amazing person. I didn't know what a doula was when my brother mentioned her so I was unsure if I really needed one. After I met her she answered all my questions and was so helpful I decided I really did need her for my birth! And I am soooo glad I made that decision. I was induced 2 weeks early and had no warning, just my doctor told me to go straight to the hospital from the office, not even to go home and pack a bag. Chris lives 2 hours away from me so as soon as I told her I was at the hospital she drove out to meet me. She was amazing giving me massage, teaching me excercises to help move things along, and taking care of the little things like getting warm blankets and starting up the jacuzzi. She took pictures throughout the entire process which I will forever be greatful for because I would never have those pictures if it wasn't for her. She was amazing getting food and things for my husband and mom so they wouldn't have to leave my side. She was encouraging and supportive and I'm confident that without her things wouldn't have gone so smoothly and I'm sure I would've spent more than 45 minutes pushing without her coaching. This was my first birth and my little boy came out perfect with no problems! I will definitely have Chris there for the births of my future children!

The first time I ever met Chris McBride, I was almost shocked at how wonderful she was. She instantly seemed like a best friend that you were comfortable around. She is extremely kind, very soothing, an overall fantastic person inside and out. When I was introduced to Chris, I didn't know at all what a Doula was, but what I do know is that I was very unsure I wanted a doula at my birth considering I was already around 40 weeks pregnant. As soon as my first appointment was over where Doula's Chris McBride and Mandy Andrews had given me an amazing massage with essential oils, while answering any and all questions I had, I knew I loved them both! And I knew that I wanted them there when I was in labor. Chris just has a way that really puts you at peace of mind, especially since I worry and stress about things that are not worth stressing over, Chris was my life saver! I was quite stubborn with the doctors at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital. I did not want to be induced! I was 14 days overdue and not to much was happening. Chris joined me at the hospital, walked around with me, gave me a massage, time went on as we tried different exercises and stretches. When I hit 15 days overdue, and still not to much was happening, it was time for something to change. I was frustrated, emotional, upset, and concerned about my baby boy. I agreed to start a slow pitocin drip to jump start things a little bit, and boy oh boy did things speed up and get intense fast! Chris was incredible, absolutely amazing. She stood by my side from the second I started pushing, and kept me going. In a way she was what you might call a "birth hero" to me. After pushing for over 4 hours, my sweet, beautiful baby boy finally made his entrance into this beautiful world and suddenly everything was just perfect. I truly believe if Chris had not have been there for my birth, things would have not gone the same way. She kept me relaxed and we got through it together. So much love to you Chris!!!

Chris worked with my son's girlfriend having her first child. She gave her a full massage and answered all of her questions. As she was admitted into the hospital she was right by her side keeping her comfortable. When our Kayden was a little slow to arrive and the hospital was quick to want to induce and do a C section Chris answered Wyles' questions and helped her to stay strong to give birth naturally. She stayed with her even after the birth to continue to provide support and answer questions. She was an huge assett to our experience. LOVE HER!!

I met Chris November 4th 2013, I was one day overdue! She was teaching my doula (Mandy Andrews) pregnancy massage. I got to be the lucky guinea pig ;) Chris was wonderful! She used natural products and had a calm loving energy. Mandy and I invited her to my birth and we were glad she was there!! Due to the pain I was pretty out of it- but the scents helped with the nausea and the music was relaxing and occasionally gave me something to focus on.

What I needed most was emotional support because the baby’s father nor any of my family were able to make it. I was fortunate to have a few people there in the end and so glad Chris McBride was one of them! Her strong maternal presents, her knowledge… Oh and her camera! It was important to me to document the occasion especially due to the fact so many loved ones were missing it; the birth of my 1st child. I’m so grateful those memories will last now!

Thanks Chris!!!
