I am a postpartum doula with more than 20 years of experience as a certified nurse-midwife in Japan and as a Lactation Specialist. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to supporting mothers, newborns, fathers, and the entire family as they adjust to life with a new baby. I am also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with a deep passion for helping mothers navigate breastfeeding with confidence and comfort. In addition, I hold a Master of Arts in Psychology and previously worked in Japan as a certified public psychologist, specializing in the prevention of perinatal depression. This background enables me to support families not only physically, but emotionally as well, offering a holistic and compassionate approach to postpartum care.

We are so grateful for our night doula, Ryoko. She cared for our newborn baby with so much patience and confidence. She is incredibly gentle and easy to communicate with.

Moreover, Ryoko shared detailed notes by emails and in app about what happened overnight, which has been extremely helpful for us as first-time parents.

Her professional experience truly shows when our baby developed a little redness on her butt, Ryoko guided us on how to apply diaper rash cream correctly and even shared helpful educational websites, resources, and videos.

Her knowledge and support have made a huge difference in our early parenting journey. We feel so lucky to have Ryoko with us. Highly recommend her!

We feel so fortunate to have had Ryoko’s support during the first two weeks after welcoming our second child. From the moment she arrived, she brought a sense of calm, warmth, and reassurance to our home. She guided me with gentle expertise through breastfeeding, helping me establish a good latch and prevent issues before they became problems. She also supported our 23-month-old daughter’s transition to becoming a big sister with such kindness and patience—she adored Ryoko from day one.

What stood out most was how proactive Ryoko was in anticipating our needs. She often took initiative without needing direction and created peaceful moments for us to connect as a family—for example, quietly taking the baby so we could enjoy meals together. Her soft-spoken, calm, and non-judgmental presence made all the difference during those early, tender days.

We truly enjoyed working with Ryoko and wholeheartedly recommend her to any family looking for nurturing, thoughtful, and reliable postpartum care.
