Attends hospital births? Some Hospitals
“For the safety, dignity, and empowerment of my clients, I do not attend births at hospitals that restrict doula support, disregard informed consent, or fail to provide respectful, culturally competent, and evidence-based maternity care.

Attends birth center births? All Birth Centers
“I support births at birth centers that prioritize holistic, evidence-based, and family-centered care, where informed consent, physiological birth, and collaborative support between doulas and medical providers are respected. Birth centers must uphold a commitment to safe, culturally competent, and empowering birthing experiences for all families.”

Attends home births? Any Home Birth
“I support home births that are attended by a licensed midwife or qualified birth professional, ensuring a safe and well-prepared environment. For safety, the home must have access to emergency transport plans, essential medical supplies (such as oxygen and neonatal resuscitation equipment), and a clear protocol for transferring to a hospital if necessary, prioritizing both the well-being of the birthing person and the baby.
