When someone is deciding whether to have a doula, I think one word that comes to mind is advocate. Through my experience with Nia, she has shown that she is so much more than that. From our initial welcome meeting to the birth of my daughter, Nia ensured she listened attentively to my desires, goals, and fears.
During our meetings, Nia provided comprehensive prenatal education in a way that my husband and I could understand. Nia utilized activities and demonstrations to effectively teach and prepare us. I will say, swaddling the doll baby was a lot easier than my daughter ?? Nia encouraged journaling my thoughts and any questions I had. While it was an abundance of information such as the birthing process, breathing techniques, interventions, and feedings, I felt more educated and confident. Nia has an abundance of knowledge and her eagerness to share it made me excited! After our meetings, Nia followed up with a recap of information and additional resources, which was so helpful!
From the first signs of labor, Nia was there. Her warm demeanor and calm presence made this a wonderful and memorable experience. Even in the midst of pain during the childbirth process, Nia gently reminded me of the birthing plan and desires that I had. Nia aided me in relaxation techniques and provided movements to my body to support the process. When the healthcare professionals presented information, Nia took her time to make sure I was making an informed decision by stating the benefits, risks, and alternative options. Nia contributed greatly to my birth and made this a team effort! Once my daughter was born, I felt overwhelmed with emotion. While I was sad to see Nia leave, her teachings penetrated my mind. Thankfully, Nia remained in communication to ensure that my postpartum experience was well!
I am so incredibly blessed that Nia was my doula and highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for much more than an advocate!

I had my own preexisting fears about birth and always scared of this event since childhood. All I ever heard were scary stories around it. When we were ready to have a child I decided strongly to have a positive birth experience. Just when we got pregnant, I heard about doula services and benefits of having one during my big day. I came across Nia profile and was impressed about her philosophy around evidence based birth. When we had our first interaction I liked the way she interacted with us and her importance towards families preferences. Upon hiring Nia was very thorough with her job during prenatal visits by sharing evidence based literature for all our questions around Birthing process. She was patient enough to answer all our questions and clear any misconceptions we had around it. As a first time mom's I had labored for total of 33 hrs and Nia was there by my side all throughout the process. She taught me how to self advocate myself and implement BRAIN technique to decide on recommendations given by care practitioners. She stepped in when there was a conflict of interest and gently voiced out about my Birthing rights on my behalf. She went above and beyond at every step during my labour process. Overall I achieved the birth I dreamed of and now have a really positive experience to share with my future generations. All Thanks to Nia !!

I cannot express how much gratitude I have for my postpartum doula, Nia. From the moment she stepped into my life, she brought a sense of calm, understanding, and genuine care that I truly needed. Nia was not only knowledgeable about postpartum recovery and newborn care but also incredibly supportive of my emotional and mental well-being during such a vulnerable time.
She took the time to listen, offer guidance tailored to my needs, and reminded me to prioritize self-care without any judgment. Her presence was a light in those early days of motherhood, and I always felt comfortable asking her questions or leaning on her for advice.
Thanks to Nia, I felt more confident as a mom and more prepared to navigate postpartum challenges. She went above and beyond to ensure I felt supported and empowered every step of the way. If you’re looking for a postpartum doula who truly cares and brings warmth, expertise, and encouragement, I highly recommend Nia. She’s amazing!

Nia was our doula who supported my for the birth of my second son, Evan. The difference between my first labor experience without a doula, and that with Nia's expert guidance, was night and day. She helped prepare me both physically and mentally for labor. During labor, she commanded the room with her calming presence - she helped us with our birth plan so that she could advocate for us along the way. After the epidural, when I almost passed out, she helped get me the right medical attention. For the actual active labor, Evan was stalling and not interested in making his way out. The doctors said they'd check in a few hours later. Nia had me try all kinds of interesting positions and shortly thereafter, Evan was on his way! Nia was wonderful and I couldn't recommend her enough!
