We found Ruthie through Thrive Together Doulas. My husband and I attended a few birth classes that Ruthie helped to lead. We had an immediate connection with her. She is an easy going gal and seemed to have a calm about her. 

This was our first baby and found her insight helpful as a mom and doula. She helped us talk through our birth plan and put together a sustainable plan for our birth. 

When the day came Ruthie was available via text to answer questions and reassure me through an (unexpected) induction. She came to the hospital as soon as I asked her for support. From the moment she walked in the room to the moment she left after baby was here she offered guidance and support to me and my husband. She helped with positioning as labor progressed, guided my nervous husband, and advocated for me. When I was ready to give in she reassured me and said all the right things to get me through to the moment I got to hold my baby. She stayed to guide me through the first latch and the first couple hours after delivery. 

We are forever grateful for Ruthie and so glad she was with us on this journey.

Ruthie was phenomenal. I had thrown around the idea of using a doula. Met one and we did not mesh well. I ran into Ruthie at the zoo and immediately knew I wanted her to be my doula. She did not disappoint. I felt heard through the entire planning process and of course labor. Her presence was so calming and able to keep my partner involved and engaged with what was best to help me. I had a successful VBAC after induction at 39 weeks. As a nurse I know what it's like to be the helper, I could not have picked someone better to be my side when we welcomed my baby.

I had Ruthie as a doula for my second birth. With my first birth, I had a traumatic scheduled induction without help from a doula, and was extremely nervous to go through the process again. Because of that experience, I wanted to have an entirely different birth. I had a conversation with Ruthie regarding my concerns when I was towards the end of my third trimester, and while I wish I would've reached out to her sooner in my pregnancy, her expertise and help was SO appreciated. She would check in towards the final days before birth, offer helpful tips for my sciatic pain, and provide encouragement. 

When my water broke and it was time to go to the hospital, she was there without hesitation. Ruthie brought different tools and offered so much helpful advice to myself and my husband to get through contractions. She advocated for my birth plan requests, even when the nurses were mentioning things I wasn't wanting. She prayed over me, held my hand, lifted me up when I swore I couldn't push anymore, and I don't think I could've had such a redeeming birth experience without her. My husband and I are very thankful for the care and love she puts into supporting moms. You can tell she truly loves what she does. I would suggest her to ANY mom considering a doula!
