Post a testimonial for Krystal Carter

Krystal was one of the biggest blessings of my birth experience, and I truly can’t imagine doing it without her.
Birth: From the moment she arrived, Krystal created such a peaceful environment. She brought lights and tea light candles and encouraged me to bring meaningful items that made the hospital feel calm. My goal was to go unmedicated as long as possible, and her counter pressure, labor techniques, and coaching helped me through every contraction. She also taught my husband techniques so he could support me throughout labor. Krystal stayed with us for more than 24 hours and remained after our son was born to support us through those first moments (even after being by my side the whole labor!).
Postpartum: We also worked with Krystal as our postpartum doula for about four months. Since our family lives far away, she became one of the biggest parts of our village. She helped me get the rest I desperately needed, talked through countless questions, cared for our little guy so naturally, and always checked before leaving to make sure I had water, a snack, or anything else I needed. Her support played a huge role in protecting my mental health. She also doesn’t require families to commit to a rigid schedule upfront which helped make her services more accessible to us.
Photography: She’s also an incredibly talented birth photographer. Having our labor and birth beautifully documented, especially with our first baby, is something we’ll treasure forever. She captured so many meaningful moments without taking away from supporting me during labor. The final galley was absolutely beautiful.
If you can’t tell already… 1000/10 recommend Krystal. If you’re considering hiring her for birth, postpartum support, photography—or all three—you won’t regret it.

A God Send!
Krystal is quite literally the only human I would ever let in a delivery room with me other than my husband and the delivery team. She is the most beautiful soul I have ever met. She radiates love, peace, and confidence. She is really attentive and intuitive, two must have qualities in a doula! Leading up to my birth she was so supportive with check-ins and advice. During our consultation she asked great questions and provided answers to questions and was a wonderful resource when I didn't know what was going on with my own body. I had to get induced at 42 weeks and she was at the hospital ready to go when we called her to come. My labor was a whopping 56 hours and Krystal was there for about 40+ of it and helped for a few hours after birth. She advocated for me and guided me through the whole process. My baby's birth would not have been complete without her there! I could not recommend her more!!

I found Krystal during my third trimester when facing an unexpected move to the Richmond area. I interviewed several doulas, but from the first video chat with Krystal, I knew she would be the perfect birth doula for our growing family. She's a great listener, so kind, and answered all of my questions confidently yet honestly. Once I moved to the area, we met in person and she was very personable and easy to talk to. Krystal came prepared to our meeting with a folder full of educational handouts and asked some thought-provoking questions regarding my wishes for the birth. In another meeting, we practiced some hands-on techniques to help with my goal of achieving an unmedicated birth. Fast forward a week or so later, she arrived at the hospital quickly, within minutes of us despite not having much notice. Krystal immediately got to work creating my desired ambiance for the space and was such an encouraging presence during the most challenging part of labor. She stayed with us for hours after baby’s arrival, until we felt settled, and even helped to carry many of our personal belongings to our postpartum room. Krystal followed up with me, both in-person and via text, to offer support and resources as needed. We are so thankful to have found Krystal and would highly recommend her to anyone searching for a birth or postpartum doula.

I have find memories with Krystal for the birth of my 5th baby. Krystal has a kind and encouraging spirit and was someone I could count on when I got very nervous to push at the very end of the birth. I appreciated that she not only took beautiful photos that we can look back with and cherish, but held my hand ,looked in my eyes and reminded me that I was doing a great work and that my body was strong enough to do the work! Krystal was a great support from the time baby was born, born, and also checking in for the days, and weeks to follow . It was also nice having a birth photographer/ doula who had a strong faith like my husband and I do. We have been very blessed working with Krystal.

We are so grateful for Krystal and her doula support. She was such a wonderful presence in our home during such a vulnerable time as first time parents. She is kind, gentle, knowledgeable, and was just so happy for us in our journey. It’s hard to know what kind of postpartum support you’ll need until the time comes and Krystal was supportive and created a safe space for us the whole time. We are thankful we found her and hope to have her help again with future babes!
