Shannon was everything we wanted and needed in a doula. We wouldn't have had such a positive experience without her support in the lead up to and during the birth. First, Shannon helped us feel prepared in the lead up to birth during our prospecting call and through two at-home visits. She talked through and provided additional resources to help my husband and I understand various interventions and options that would be provided by our OB. Then, she shared some exercises and comfort measures to help prepare for labor. I was in early labor for almost 3 days, and she talked to us on the phone numerous times to help us feel confident and ready to go to the hospital, especially as we didn't plan on having an epidural unless necessary. At the hospital, Shannon stayed with us after I was admited for the 12 hours of labor, providing mental and physical support throughout labor. It really allowed my husband to focus on me mentally, holding my hand and cheering me on, and not having to worry about all the various techniques and support measures that we were meant to remember from our birthing class. And, when things became more intense once my water broke, Shannon was the calm, level-headed presence we needed to make it through naturally. We could not have done this without her. I would not think twice about hiring Shannon to be your doula. You will not regret it!

From the first visit, Shannon took the time to get to know my partner and me and understand my preferences, comforts and concerns about labor and birth with my first baby. During labor, she was by my side the whole time encouraging me and using her many techniques to keep me as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Her guidance and support made a world of difference when I was faced with many unanticipated decisions and challenges. My partner and I loved working with Shannon and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a down-to-earth, skilled, knowledgeable and devoted doula! I hope to work with her again on any future babies that may be in store!

From Seth -Shannon is an old soul. We cant thank her enough for the support she provided during our pregnancy and birth. We interviewed several doulas each with a strong background, but our gut told us Shannon was the right fit. We made the right choice. She came prepared, asked the right questions, and made sure we were comfortable with the process. She was with us during the most challenging part of the labor, helping us deliver a healthy baby. Her soft voice, warm smile, and confidence was a guiding light during the final hours of labor. For anyone questioning hiring a doula Shannon reinforced our belief it is an investment well worth making. 

From Christina -So grateful we had Shannon as our doula and first time parents. She met with us twice at home first to go over our birth preferences and later to discuss coping mechanisms for labor and go through positions. We ended up having a 40 hour induction that resulted in a c section but with Shannon's guidance we felt empowered and supported throughout the process. She came to the hospital Friday night at the start of our induction to go through positions, and set the labor room up as a calm environment, she was supportive throughout the day Saturday, she returned Saturday night even though we were not in active labor to help with positioning and by morning we had finally made progress, she returned Sunday morning and we continued with positioning before we found things were not progressing. Since everything we had been doing with Shannon should have helped the issue we had we decided to proceed with the c section and we're so fortunate to be in a hospital where she could accompany us to the or. She kept me distracted(as discussed in our sessions at home) while Seth was able to go see our baby. If you are looking for someone who is organized and supportive, calm and compassionate you will be lucky to have Shannon.

As a first-time mom, I truly didn’t know where to begin when it came to making choices around childbirth. I am so grateful that I was able to work with Shannon early on in my pregnancy. She helped me feel incredibly prepared, not just with knowledge, but with confidence in my preferences and the decisions surrounding my ideal birth experience.

My labor was nothing short of amazing. Of course, not everything goes exactly as planned, but I still had the most pleasant, supported, and deeply cherished birth experience. Shannon advocated for me in every possible way and made me feel so comfortable and safe throughout the entire process. Every person who walked into our L&D room said, “It’s such a vibe,” and honestly, there is no better way to describe it.

I know without Shannon’s support, I would have felt so much more anxious about childbirth. Instead, I walked away feeling empowered and confident in my body, like I can truly do anything. Her care also helped kickstart a smooth recovery, allowing me to fully enjoy every moment with my newborn and my husband.

It is hard to put into words what a difference Shannon made in our lives after I gave birth. My postpartum journey was more difficult that I imagined it would be, but when I felt scared, overwhelmed and vulnerable, Shannon made me feel safe. She was able to show up for me in so many ways. She listened and helped me process big feelings, she provided guidance and encouragement when I felt lost, and created space for me to focus on my recovery by helping with the things that felt too big to tackle alone. As our postpartum doula, Shannon created stability during the biggest, hardest, most wonderful transition of our lives. We will forever be grateful for her!

I'm thrilled to write this testimonial and cannot recommend Shannon highly enough! As first time parents both my husband and I were nervous about the birthing process. After getting in touch with Shannon and from our very first meeting through zoom Shannon created a warm and supportive environment that made both of us feel empowered in our decision to do a natural unmedicated birth. During the days leading upto my labor Shannon provided personalized guidance such as exercises for labor, reviewing our birth plan and offering other practical tools that might help us during active labor. 

During labor, Shannon created a calming ambiance in our room.  Her calming presence, comfort measures and attendance to my needs helped me stay focused and empowered. Shannon made sure everything I listed on my birth plan was done accordingly and as a result helped me accomplish my goal to have a natural unmediacted birth. 

After birth, Shannon's check-ins and at follow up visit helped us with any concerns we had as first time parents. 

As a first time mom I am extremely touched and grateful for the care I received from Shannon and can't thank and recommend her enough.

Shannon was such a comforting and valuable part of my experience becoming a first-time mother, and I'm so grateful that my husband and I chose her when we were on the fence about having a doula at all. I almost certainly would have had either an episiotomy or a C-section without her encouragement and support during the labor and delivery process. She was incredibly responsive and attentive, even sitting on a floor for hours through the night to support me during earlier phases of labor, propping me up and talking me through the pushing phase for over 4 hours, and offering me so many options to soothe me as I went through the different stages of labor.

Would absolutely recommend her to anyone considering a doula.

Shannon’s positive and supportive energy was extremely helpful before and during labor. Her ability to shift my and the energy in the room enabled me to center myself and bring focus and resolve to my labor. And make the experience fun along the way! She also did so well engaging with my partner as well as me. She created a team among us which made me feel supported and safe.
