Post a testimonial for Rachael Gallagher, CPD, M.S.Ed.

I can't recommend Rachael highly enough. She came in during an incredibly overwhelming time and immediately helped me get organized and figure out how to help my son sleep.
What I appreciated most was her approach. She's extremely knowledgeable about a wide variety of baby related topics, but she never pushed if I wasn't comfortable with something. She respected my choices while still offering her expertise.
Rachael is also exceptionally well-connected in the postpartum space. She introduced me to helpful resources and people, gave me thoughtful advice on everything from pelvic floor PT to cooking to structuring my nanny search, and served as an invaluable sounding board. Even the simple things, like knowing my son was in good hands while I took a shower, made such a difference.
If you're looking for a postpartum doula who will help you feel less overwhelmed, Rachael is the person to call.

We’re really grateful for the support we received from Rachael. She showed up fully prepared from day one, even coming on a Sunday when she found out I had an unexpected C-section. She set up our space, organized what we needed and made the transition home much less stressful. Her knowledge shows in how she works. As a former teacher, she explains things clearly, gives practical guidance and shares information in a way that lets you make informed decisions. She documents everything, organizes resources and follows evidence-based care while still respecting our choices. She also helped us understand what to ask our pediatrician. One of our biggest stress points was car seat safety, and having her as a car seat expert made a huge difference. Her breastfeeding support was extremely helpful. I struggled with pumping and getting breastfeeding started- she helped me choose the right pump and parts, and arranged an IBCLC appointment very quickly when I needed further help. She also supported my C-section recovery by suggesting products, assisting with safe movement and helping with incision care. Even taking my first stroller walk felt easier with her there. She took care of our baby’s needs during those six weeks with so much attention and skill - helping with every part of newborn care. She guided us through the first bath, tummy time, soothing, babywearing, and more. On top of all this, she’s personable, thoughtful and very practical. She adapted to our needs, prepared healthy snacks before I even asked and was great to talk to during those early weeks when everything felt new and intense. Having both support and normal adult conversation mattered more than I expected. In short, she is highly skilled, reliable, and genuinely caring. We’re grateful for how she showed up for our family, and I would confidently recommend her to any new parent looking for knowledgeable, evidence-based, supportive postpartum care

I often joke that Rachael is the Mary Poppins of postpartum care. From the second week I was back from the hospital, she would arrive with a plan and magically make everything better in our home. I didn't even have to ask for anything — she held my newborn so I could sleep, made me fiber-rich meals for my postpartum recovery, helped me find a pelvic floor therapist within walking distance, answered millions of questions that were swirling around in my anxious postpartum brain, and the list goes on and on. She taught my husband and I how to give our son a bath, put him in a carseat safely, and help him learn how to fall asleep. When I wanted to breastfeed and pump, Rachael helped me figure that out. When I chose to stop breastfeeding, she was nonjudgmental and helped me figure out a new system. Rachael has made these sweet, tender, early months with my son joyful and doable. I'd never held a newborn before giving birth, and now I feel confident as a mom. I'm even making those fiber-rich recipes on my own, which is pretty amazing considering that I barely cooked before. I can't recommend Rachael enough!

Rachael was incredibly adaptable to my needs as a second-time mom. Whether it was helping me brush up on sleeping techniques, being the extra set of hands in the kitchen, or offering a sounding board as I navigated new medical and feeding challenges, I found her time with our family supportive and valuable. Rachael is an active and supportive listener, offering validation, perspectives, and solutions without an judgment or agenda. She is a great addition to your post-partum support team!

Bringing home a newborn is an incredibly vulnerable time—overwhelming, exhausting, and often isolating. A few days in, I realized our family needed support. I had endless questions about what was “normal,” how to best care for my baby, and how to carve out even a moment to rest. That’s when we found Rachael, and hiring her was one of the best decisions we’ve made as a family.
The best way I can describe Rachael is Mary Poppins personified. She is warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly intuitive when it comes to both newborns and new parents. She has taught us so much—everything from feeding techniques, safe sleep practices, and babywearing to newborn soothing methods that actually work. Beyond her expertise with our baby, she seamlessly integrated into our home, supporting our whole family, including our dog!
What truly sets Rachael apart is her deep understanding of postpartum care. She not only nurtured our baby but also made sure I was healing and cared for, teaching me pelvic floor exercises, preparing nourishing meals, and offering a compassionate ear when I needed reassurance. She has been a steady, calming presence, bringing a sense of peace to our home during such a transformative time.
If you’re a new parent looking for expert newborn care with an extra dose of kindness and understanding, Rachael is the absolute best. We feel so lucky to have had her support in these early weeks, and we cannot recommend her highly enough!

I had an amazing experience with Rachael Gallagher. She does more in one hour than most do in a day and she DOES IT ALL -- cooking, cleaning, caring for the baby, caring for mom, providing lessons on infant development and more. Even when she was off the clock, she would check in to support me. I felt so cared for being a new mom after a tough delivery. She's basically a real-life Mary Poppins.

I thought I would know what I was doing the second time around. Boy, was I wrong! Rachael had already been working with my family as a nanny for my then one-year-old, and once I gave birth to my youngest she added postpartum doula to her job description (or as I like to call her, my postpartum Mary Poppins). She swooped in, armed with nutritious snacks (that I got to eat, not my husband), and her magical breastfeeding know-how and all the other support I wish I had the first time around.
When I was told the baby had a tongue tie, she connected me to curated and helpful resources to help me make my own decision about whether to get it released. She knew how difficult breastfeeding was with my first, and she followed my lead as she supported me through breastfeeding my second. I went from not being able to breastfeed my first to exclusively breastfeeding my second for over a year! And when my little one decided bottles were not for her, Rachael was of course there with her endless patience and creative bottle-feeding techniques. Just like she was there with endleess sleep solutions and guidance. And if there were times when I was unable to follow her advice out of sleep deprivation and sheer fatigue, she never, ever, passed judgement. Rachael just gets it. She understands the sleep-deprived, irrational, complicated emotions of the postpartum period and she welcomes all of it with open arms. She knows when to offer advice and when to offer support and when to offer a joke. She reads the room with a keen eye and adapts effortlessly.
I could go on and on here, but there's a word limit! To sum it up, I'm so grateful that Rachael came into my life and my children's lives. We are infinitely better for it. If you have an opportunity to have Rachael on your early motherhood team, take it. It's just that simple :)

Rachael became our postpartum doula and nanny very quickly when I had emergency back surgery. Our daughter was 5 weeks old. Rachael was and continues to be a life saver. She has so much compassion and care to give. She sings to our daughter, takes her for long walks, plays with her, and cuddles her. She did all the things I couldn’t do and I’ll be forever grateful she was there to step in.
As far the support she provided me and my partner, she has provided gentle advice (around soothing, sleep, and postpartum recovery) and long-term invaluable suggestions as we desperately needed it as new parents dealing with added complications. She’s has brought us food and supplies, helped around the house, and offered to run errands. Rachael is down to earth and relatable and feels like a friend you’ve known for a lifetime. She has been a joy to be around and it’s evident with how much our baby loves her... She’s in the best of moods after she’s spent a day with Miss Rachael!
Any family or new parent would be so lucky to have Rachael in their home. We are forever grateful for her care.
