My family moved from the Gulf to Canada in 2009, making me a third-culture kid. A migraine in 2010 and a back injury in 2012 marked the start of my journey with invisible conditions and chronic pain. As a South Asian woman, I’ve faced myths, misunderstandings, and stigma surrounding mental, sexual, and reproductive health—especially where culture, religion, and gender intersect. Surviving adverse childhood experiences, sexual violence, and reproductive injustices has fueled my passion for change. I refuse to let others suffer in silence as I have. As a trained sexual violence supporter, sexual health educator, and full-spectrum doula, I founded Oru Kutty Community. I provide education and services for those navigating their sexuality, fertility, pregnancy, labour/birth, postpartum, or loss/abortion while juggling multiple marginalized identities. I support everyone through a feminist, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed lens, while also ensuring my work is evidence-based, accessible, and inclusive. I know firsthand how our intersectional identity can shape the barriers we face in our sexual and reproductive lives. My hope is to ease that burden—so that your intersectional identity is not a source of struggle, but a place of strength. Here’s to staying happy, healthy, and alive!
I'm deeply committed to reducing the barriers that many marginalized communities face when accessing reproductive health support & sexual health education and I understand that affordability is important so I’ve done my best to keep my pricing thoughtful & accessible. My rates are lower than many biopsychosocial support services that don’t offer the kind of specialized, culturally rooted care I provide. To sustain the energy, effort, & emotional labour this work requires, my prices honour the safe, inclusive, & trauma-informed space I strive to provide for every client. In extenuating or special circumstances, I’m open to discussing sliding scale options or payment plans—please don’t hesitate to bring this up in our initial consultation. (BIPOC/BIPGM bodies have long been & continue to be exploited. My rates reflect fair compensation to prevent further exploitation.)

Post a testimonial for Joefin Peter

Joefin worked with our family for four sessions Postpartum after the birth of our twins. She was super helpful and great with the twins. She was easy to talk to and demonstrated great care and thoughtfulness in her support of our family. She asked how we wanted the day to look and supported whatever was needed at that time. Highly recommend her to support you journey as well.

We are incredibly grateful for the support Joefin Peter provided during our baby’s first month. From the moment she joined us, she brought warmth, reliability, and a calm confidence that made the early days of parenting so much easier.
Joefin helped with everything we needed — from grocery shopping and diaper changes to feeding the baby and taking care of light household tasks like folding laundry and vacuuming. Her attention to detail and willingness to step in wherever needed allowed us to rest, recover, and enjoy precious time with our newborn.

Joefin is highly compassionate and empathetic. She was so supportive an advocated for my needs and wants during a time when I couldn't. I highly recommend her as a doula.
