We found ourselves in need of a doula at the last minute due to some unexpected changes, and Joyce came through for us in ways we couldn’t have anticipated. She was incredibly accommodating, taking the time to hear and understand my wife’s needs as well as the needs of our family. It was immediately clear how much she cared—not just about the well-being of the baby but also about supporting my wife and, by extension, our entire family.

While our circumstances ended up changing and we didn’t have Joyce with us for very long, the time we did have was invaluable. If I were to imagine the ideal doula, it would be someone like Joyce: caring but candid, understanding, and completely focused on putting the baby’s needs first while helping the family stay accountable and supported during a chaotic and overwhelming time. I honestly don’t think you could craft a better person to be your doula.

BTW, She’s also a great cook—that wasn’t the important thing, but idefinitely a bonus. Beyond that, having someone so clearly knowledgeable and experienced gave me, as a father, a deeper understanding of how to do my part better. There are moments from our time with Joyce that I still carry with me, and I’m incredibly grateful for that.

If you’re still reading reviews, stop. See if Joyce is available. She will make your environment and life better for you and your child. I couldn’t recommend her more.

Joyce was a blessing as we navigated my second childbirth. She was with us all through my stay at the hospital and later at home with the baby as a postpartum doula.

she is incredibly professional and always willing to help. She is on top of things that the baby needs and her experience just shows. I was a very anxious mother often worrying about feeds and the well being of the newborn and just having Joyce around helped because I knew my little girl was in good hands when I was napping or trying to catch a breath after giving birth. Her experience shows in how she attends to the newborn in a very calm fashion. I just can't say enough about how much comfort and care she has bought us in the weeks after childbirth. She is truly a blessing for us!

we look forward to staying in touch as she moves on to help another family navigate their childbirth and postpartum phase !

Joyce was my lifesaver when she came to help me with my newborn after I tested positive for a COVID infection. She followed our feeding instructions for the baby and was very attentive to him, allowing me to rest and recover. She was also very punctual and wore the proper mask the entire time she was around. Additionally, she remained calm and was able to soothe my son when he woke up from sleep. I was very fortunate to have had Joyce’s help during one of the most challenging times postpartum.

Joyce is incredibly professional, wise, kind, full of energy, a positive light, and all around a caring and extraordinary human. I honestly feel there are not enough amazing things I can say/share about Joyce, she was a true asset to have in our experience.

Joyce started supporting our family a day after bringing home our newborn (first time parents) and made us feel comfortable within the first few hours. Joyce guided us through all the challenges every newborn parent will experience. While she has of course mastered all the things you would expect from your doula, what really stands out is her nurturing and thoughtful personality (with of course years and years of experience working with small children and families).

On top of helping us navigate our newborn daughter, it felt like she became part of our small family through a very precious and vulnerable time of our lives. While she was with us, she was able to completely manage our newborn daughter through the night allowing us to rest and recharge without a single worry (newborn and first time parents you’ll understand how valuable this is). Along with newborn care, Joyce coached and helped my wife navigate breastfeeding, self-care and recovery, as well as provided postpartum support. She provided educational and emotional support to our entire family through her years of experience and up to date knowledge of the latest research.

All this to say, we feel very fortunate, lucky, and truly blessed to have met and worked with Joyce. She will always be a part of our family and has built a lifelong bond with our newborn daughter.
