Salachon comrades and relatives. I'm Ále (AH-leh), the Earthen Mami. I'm a queer Indígena birthworker, artist & activist located in Seattle. I come from the Maya Ch’ortí, Lenca & Garífuna/Garínagu Indigenous & Afroindigenous peoples of Honduras through my father’s side. I'm a radical lover, mujerísta, fur mama, auntie, daughter, sister, and friend. As an Indigenous doula, my practice has been lifelong. I'm deeply connected with my heritage & revel in the complexity & nuance that is my own history and lived experience. It is with joy that I offer myself and my gifts to empower fellow Indigenous & Black Womben and Birthing People in one of the most transformative experiences one can have. The reality of living under capitalism is that our material conditions are dire. I offer a sliding scale option for BBIPGM clients & various payment plans. I'm happy to discuss financial barriers and do not want the cost of our work together to be an added stress. I accept Medicaid and Carrot.

I'm an 47yo single mom by choice and this was my third birth, an at home vbac. I searched high and low for a doula that matched my cultural and social preferences during what I knew would be a complex and emotional journey. During my pregnancy, she was present, available and very knowledgeable about ancestral practices that connected me to my Afro indigenous heritage. During much of my second and third trimester, she took great care in providing herbal medicinal guidance as well as ceremony and grounding. It helped immensely that she also worked closely with her backup doula, Gerard. They both came to my birth and I'm so grateful to report I had a beautiful home water birth. I delivered my adorable 10lbs baby in one lovely summer afternoon/evening. They held sacred space for me while I travailed a deeply transformative journey. I did a lot of emotional, physical spiritual prep work to welcome my baby; I worked out, ate well, meditated, practiced hypnobirthing and much more. But choosing Ale and her team was the key component that brought all my preparation to bear when the going got tough. She was there to remind me of my strength and determination when it really counted. I'd recommend her to anyone looking to walk a deeply authentic and centered path toward their own transformative birth.

Àle was our rock. She met me at the beach just as my water broke and greeted me with the words, “How are you doing, mama?” Her presence set the tone from the very beginning: calm, loving, and unwavering.
During the hardest parts of labor, when I felt like I left my body and wasn’t sure I could continue, it was her voice and songs that anchored me. She sang to me, she sang to our baby, and she reminded both of us that we were not alone. Her hands poured water over my back, her words brought me back into myself, and her belief in me made it possible to keep going.
What I treasure most is that she held both me and Duncan. She gave him space when he needed to step back and tended to him so that he could tend to me. She helped create the most loving, supportive environment I could imagine.
If you want a doula who will bring ceremony, strength, humor, and deep care into your birth, call Àle. She became family to us through this process.

Àle is the reason I didn’t end up with a c-section. I went into labor with a birth plan, but once you’re actually in it, following that plan becomes almost impossible. Labor does something to your brain—you’re exhausted, vulnerable, and very suggestive. In that state, it’s easy for doctors or midwives to recommend interventions you originally didn’t want, and you might agree just to get through it. Àle was my voice when I couldn’t be. She fought for what I wanted every step of the way, making sure my wishes were respected. She stayed with me for all three days of my labor (crazy) —never leaving my side—and was truly an angel in the room. I would recommend her a thousand times over. And if you’re on the fence about whether you need a doula or not .. trust me, you do. I’m usually someone who can advocate hard and long for myself, but labor is a completely different ball game. Having an experienced, compassionate, and fierce doula like Àle made all the difference! Thank you Àle, I am forever grateful for you. I love you! Xx -Salma

We were so grateful to have Ale as part of our birth team. She originally came in as a support to our primary doula, but she went above and beyond in every way. Throughout my labor, she gave me hip squeezes all through the night and offered just the right balance of advice, encouragement, and calm support whenever I needed it.
What meant the most was her open-mindedness—she encouraged us to explore all options and stood by us with unconditional support, even during the most intimate and vulnerable moments of birth. That presence gave us the courage we needed to keep going. She fully respected and supported all of my choices, never giving up on my dream birth even when things became difficult.
Her care didn’t stop at birth—she checked in with us postpartum and even brought supplies, which made such a difference in those early days. She was compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly present for us every step of the way.
We honestly cannot wait to have her as our primary doula for our next baby. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone, especially those hoping for a natural, unmedicated birth. She is truly amazing.

Ále poured her heart and soul into her business, her purpose, her mission & her intentions with her clients! I was so excited to meet with her & hoped I would be able to work with her! I was looking for a doula VERY last minute, at 37 weeks, because I was unsure if it would be an option for me financially but Ále was warm, loving, kind & accommodating! Right away she was there to answer all of my questions, ease any of my concerns & keep in the loop with any necessary updates! Our first time meeting in person flowed with ease & she had already felt like a friend! She made sure my partner was involved, that he felt seen, heard & loved in a spiritual, mental, emotional & physical way! She clarified with both of us ahead of time what things we were felt comfortable with and what we didn'tz! She also made sure to ask again in the moment! One thing that was so important to me during my birth was to incorporate a spiritual aspect, to connect with the elements & my ancestors, Ále made sure to bring that to life! My birth felt perfect, Ále’s energy was calm & grounding. She reminded me of my power, the divine wisdom my body holds & what I am capable of as a birthing woman! She advocated & held space for me when the time came! She made me a warming & healing soup, lactation cookies, prepped a healing sitz bath, washed dishes, chatted with my partner & I about postpartum struggles or concerns along w/ answering questions we had about our newborn via text, gave momma some me time & made a GORGEOUS birth chart with a message for our daughter! Ále has a heart of gold & the most beautiful light surrounding her, if she is the doula for you you will know it and she will only add loving and calming energy to your birth space!
