Marlene was with me during my second labor and delivery, at the hospital birthing center. I had an unmedicated birth with my first and I wanted to do it again. But I was also scared because I knew how intense labor and delivery felt for me, even though I had done it before. I knew I could do it but I would need support especially towards the end of labor.
Marlene was the absolute best. She was right there next to me during the delivery. She helped me with warm touch, hip squeezes and reminded me to sway with the contractions. She offered me sips of water, etc. She managed the fine balance of being present while also giving me space.
And we did it!! Things got stressful at the end but everything turned out well and it was another unmedicated birth!
She stayed after the delivery, throughout my repair, and helped tremendously. Helped with my baby's initial latch and to get me comfortable. She even stayed until I was settled in the room upstairs. Her postpartum visits were similarly so warm and kind that she feels like family to me.
I am so grateful to have met her and to have had her support during this delivery. If you're thinking of hiring a doula, and you'd like someone who is not only knowledgeable but also hands-on and who truly cares, who is also patient and kind, choose Marlene, no question.

After having my baby, I decided to try placenta encapsulation for the first time, and I’m so glad I connected with Marlene of Our Nest RI through my doula, Sharnece. Marlene was incredibly warm, professional, and made the entire process seamless — which meant a lot during those early postpartum days.
She handled pickup and delivery with care and communicated clearly throughout. The capsules were beautifully packaged, and she even followed up with me afterward, which made me feel genuinely supported.
I finished all the capsules and didn’t experience any negative symptoms. While I didn’t notice any dramatic changes, I also didn’t have any emotional dips or physical setbacks. My recovery felt calm and steady overall. Compared to my first postpartum experience back in 2008, this one felt much more grounded. Even if I can’t say for certain how much of that came from the capsules, I’m grateful for the balance and energy I experienced during recovery.
This was a new and personal journey for me, and I truly appreciate Marlene’s nurturing energy and the care she brings to her work. I would absolutely recommend Our Nest RI to other families considering placenta encapsulation or seeking gentle, supportive postpartum services.

Marlene was referred to me by my initial Doula who at the time could not verify her certification so that we could use Carrot Fertility reimbursement program. It was the best recommendation I've ever received. Marlene was exceptional at meeting me where I was at. She is super professiona, flexible, and knowledgeable. Marlene's compassion and kindness is authentic. She is truly heaven sent.
During my labor and delivery, she was my advocate, coach, comfort, and cheerleader. Not only was she there for me, but she also was there for my husband and baby. Marlene has become someone so special to my family throughout this that we now call her my son's Tia Doula (Auntie Doula).
You will have the best support and care with Marlene. She will be my forever Doula if I happen to have more children.

Marlene attended my birth and has been with me through prenatal and postnatal visits. She is so thoughtful, kind, and caring, and was an amazing support to have during my labor. Marlene provided me with knowledge I wouldn't have had if she wasn't there. Now, as I'm going through my postpartum journey, learning myself as a mother, and getting to know my baby, she is still here for me and supporting me. I couldn't have asked for a better doula.

Marlene is a great Doula very personable and friendly. Although we only met once before my emergency C-Section. She was very supportive and helped me through a very stressful process. She checked up on me after the C-Section and I always reach out to her if I need any information or resources.

Marlene is amazing. As a first time mom I had no idea what this whole process was going to look like but Marlene was there every step of the way. Whether it was constantly checking in or showing up to my countless "I think the baby's coming" hospital visits she was there. My labor was not easy, I was in the hospital for 32 hours before I gave birth, again, Marlene was there for every minute. Her support was unmatched, she was so caring, and gave me so much information. She advocated for me when I couldn't adovocate for myself. I will never be able to put into words how grateful I am for her. Best Doula Ever!!!

Marlene filled in for my orginal doula who came down with Covid. At the last minute Marlene came in to save the day. And save the day she most certainly did. She was right by my side through out my whole inducement process that took 2 days. She supported me through every text in the middle of the night, helping me make informed decisions. When it came time to go to the delivery room Marlene was right there counting down my pushes. She seriously was a huge part of my experience and I can't thank her enough for that. She also visited me a few days later, before I left the hospital to check on me. I would recommend Marlene to anyone who is looking for a kind, supportive, well informed doula.

Marlene was wonderful to work with. She listened to what we wanted and took time to talk with us about our concerns and plans. She was there when we needed her and stepped back when we needed time. Knowing we had her as a support made us both more comfortable.

Marlene Is a very nice doula . I feel prenatal serious is informative helps me better prepare for birth. I feel more supported with her present at birth time . Cause my older one might need my husband she is there for me during birth. After birth we need more support she took me for OB appointment and went to store to get meds for me and helped me for breast feeding. Which is we need after birth. Overall I was pleased to have her as my doula.

Having Marlene as my doula was the absolute best decision I could have ever made. Whether it was during the pre-baby visits, my actual labor or the post-baby visits, she was there for me, full of love and support. She listened to what I wanted and helped prepare me for my first born daughter. She was an advocate for us and helped give me confidence, helped ease my anxiety and helped me get through every moment, from start to finish. Marlene is kind, thoughtful, dedicated and someone who I want by my side during my next labor, if it ever happened again. During the post baby visits, she not only focused on my daughters well being, she focused on mine, and was there for literally whatever WE needed. I loved everything our experience with Marlene, I can't say enough good things about it.
