My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Mariette as our birth doula and we can’t imagine going through the experience without her. Mariette was an incredible doula who supported me through one of the most high-risk times of my life. From the very beginning, she took the time to thoroughly educate us on the entire labor and birth process, what to expect, and how to mentally and physically prepare. Her presence during my long labor was a godsend — she was calm, compassionate, and supportive every step of the way.

She didn’t just show up for the birth, she continued supporting us postpartum, checking in on my recovery and emotional well-being, and offering guidance/recommendations when we needed reassurance the most.

I know that without Mariette, my labor and birth experience would have been completely different. As a first-time mom who was scared and anxious, having her by my side made me feel safe, empowered, and genuinely cared for. She was my advocate when I needed it most, always putting my and my baby’s best interests first.

We loved having Mariette’s support throughout my pregnancy and during labor. As first-time parents, we wanted a doula we could trust to educate and support us, helping to ease any anxiety leading up to birth. Our prenatal meetings helped us better understand the birth process and gave my husband some great tools to support me during labor.

Mariette brought such positive and enthusiastic yet calming energy to the delivery room and was an incredible coach while I was pushing. She worked so well with our nursing staff. The photos she captured of our son’s birth are absolutely beautiful. We’re so grateful to have those special memories forever.

Mariette was hands down the best decision I had to include in my natural birth plan. She is so thorough in her pre birth appointments to explain the birth process and different positions for me and my husband do during labor. She does weekly check ins and I really loved that. During my labor she advocated for me when I couldn’t talk during contractions and made my birth experience so special. I couldn’t recommend more!

We had the absolute best experience with Mariette, before, during and after birth we felt so supported. As a husband it was evident very quickly how little I knew about the entire process and because of Mariette’s guidance I was able to be a better husband throughout the entire labor process. Cannot find the words to express how grateful I am to have had Mariette by my side for the birth of my first child. From the initial phone call, the in person meetings, and the 24 hours at the hospital, she was a ball of knowledge and calmness my husband and I clung to. We truly do not understand how first time parents go through labor and delivery without a doula. Mariette was the face I looked to during labor to ensure everything was okay or get the reassurance that what the medical staff was saying, was the right call. She’s calm, kind, energetic and direct when needed, thoughtful and the perfect ally. She worked effortlessly with the medical staff to ensure my wants and wishes were considered and met when possible and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to be in the room as my son was born. She also took photos of the raw moments as we welcomed our son into the world, which I will forever cherish. Would recommend her to all my family and friends that are expecting or hope to in the future.

Working with Mariette was one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy. I was committed to having an unmedicated VBAC, and from the very beginning, she was fully supportive of my birth plan and empowered me with the knowledge and confidence I needed to follow through with it. Mariette took the time to truly understand my preferences and helped me create a birth plan that reflected my desires. During labor, she was absolutely incredible. She helped create a calm environment and had me constantly moving and changing positions so that my labor would progress quickly. She was also a strong advocate for me in the delivery room, making sure my voice was heard and my choices were respected. I can honestly say I don’t know how I would have done it without her. Thanks to her unwavering support, I was able to have the most amazing experience with an unmedicated VBAC, something I had dreamed of for so long after a traumatic labor and delivery with my first child. I cannot recommend Mariette enough! From the moment she arrived she made a huge positive impact on my labor and delivery experience, was extremely detail oriented, and very focused and aware of my needs. She seamlessly worked alongside my medical team and helped me navigate decisions based on what she knew my preferences were. Her support through pregnancy was invaluable as well. While we had originally planned for an unmedicated, natural birth, we were blindsided by the discovery that our little girl was breech. Mariette with Marsolais Wellness was such a perfect fit for our first pregnancy and birthing experience. Mariette helped my husband and me navigate each step, kept us calm, confident, and even cheerful despite it all progressing in many ways we had not anticipated. Once I was in labor, she was unwavering in trying new positions and techniques, and worked great with the nurses to try and move baby safely out of a stuck position, and eventually we did! Because of her determination, I ended up being lucky and avoided the need for a c-section which I truly believe would have been necessary without her. Throughout the inevitable deviations from what we thought was the perfect birth plan, Mariette cultivated a positive, safe, and joyful birth experience and for that, we can’t recommend and thank her enough.

Her support wasn’t just limited to the birth itself but extended throughout the entire pregnancy, which helped us feel more prepared and less anxious as the due date approached.

Words can't express how grateful I am for Mariette's support with my second birth (VBAC). As soon as we connected on the phone for the first time I felt at ease and knew I was in good hands. A VBAC mama herself, she believed in me and in the birth experience I wanted. She took the time to connect with me, to comfort me when fears arose, and to make a plan with me to set me up for success. I also appreciated that she empowered my husband to be a central part of the birthing process as she taught him ways he could comfort me throughout labor. When I was actively laboring, I felt surrounded by love as both my husband and Mariette were with me through every single surge. I ended up laboring for 32 hours, and even though there were times I wanted to give up, I was able to meet my biggest birth goals: having a VBAC and staying unmedicated. I look back on my experience with so much pride and gratitude. I have no idea what my experience would have been like without Mariette. Her warmth, transparency, unwavering support, and loving energy helped to define my birthing experience. I would recommend her to anyone wanting a beautiful and empowering birth. I could not be happier with my experience and am eternally grateful!

It’s hard to put into words just how invaluable Mariette was throughout my pregnancy and birth. From the very beginning, she was always available to answer my questions and ease my concerns. There was a point where I felt unsure about my birth plan, and Mariette took the time to really listen, helping me work through my thoughts and come to a decision that felt right. My birth experience turned out to be far better than I could have imagined, and I know that’s because of Mariette’s incredible support. During labor, she wasn’t just there for me—she was also a huge support for my husband, helping him stay calm and feel involved. Her presence made both of us feel cared for and reassured during the entire process.

On top of all that, Mariette’s personality was such a light in our journey. She brought warmth, positivity, and a sense of calm that made all the difference. She truly was a gift to us, and we are endlessly grateful for everything she did. We are so glad Mariette was our doula and was there to support us during the birth of our daughter. Our “A goal” was healthy baby and healthy mom, and our “B goal” was a vaginal delivery. Our in-person birth-planning sessions with Mariette beforehand were really valuable in support of our goals, as was having her with us at the hospital, which provided steady support for both me and for my husband. So often women in labor and birth partners can feel like they don’t know exactly what to do or don’t know if things are “progressing” ok. And Mariette helped us both feel empowered by the experience and gave us practical hands-on help to actively labor and work together as husband and wife throughout the process.

Additionally, we had what ended up being a longer labor than we ever imagined - 40 hours. There were many twists and turns and after 90+ minutes of pushing we ended up in an urgent cesarean. So we almost got to our “B goal” of a vaginal delivery, but ended up in the scenario we were trying to avoid (like most of us), of an unplanned c-section. That said, ultimately we did achieve our “A goal“ of a healthy baby girl being delivered and healthy mom who was able to recover fully. Moreover, what Mariette helped us with after the fact, that was invaluable, was processing our labor experience, and coming to embrace that we did everything we could, with Mariette’s help along the way. So we could rest assured that we really did give it our all and we should have no regrets about how everything unfolded. Without Mariette being there, we might not have come to that conclusion as quickly. And having her there with us at the hospital gave us invaluable tools that helped us minimize unnecessary interventions for as long as possible. We cannot recommend Marriott highly enough.

We are so thrilled that Mariette was our doula for the birth of our son! As this was our first child, we did not know what to expect but she was there with us every step of the way; preparing us with questions to ask at doctors appointments and ultrasounds, giving us birthing classes at our home, helping us through the delivery process, and taking beautiful pictures of the experience! She helped ease our nerves during the hours of labor by developing relationships with the nurses and doctors, explaining the process throughout, and helping relieve pain during contractions through positioning and breathing exercises. She showed my husband and I how we could work together during labor to make it a connecting and beautiful experience. I am so grateful that Mariette helped support my first birth. Prior to the birth, we had two educational sessions that really helped me feel much more at ease going into it. It was reassuring to basically have a personal on-call resource that I could reach anytime I had any questions or concerns. During labor, it was so great that Mariette was there with my husband to support me through contractions. She also helped us take some great photos that will be memories that we will cherish forever! Mariette was so easy to work with, and I couldn’t be happier that she was there to help us through my first birth.
