Sherri has been our family doula for the last 6 years! During my first pregnancy, I knew I wanted to try for an unmedicated vaginal birth, so I knew I wanted and needed a doula to support my birth. I interviewed 9 other birth doulas, with Sherri being our final interview. We immediately connected, and we hired her! She was the perfect match for us in our birth environment. My husband wanted to be very involved and my right hand during labor and delivery, but we also wanted the support of someone who had been in a birth before, and Sherri's extensive experience gave us so much peace of mind! She followed my every wish and helped us to have a peaceful and empowering hospital birth all while maintaining a harmonious, kind, and professional rapport with our providers and nurses, which was very important to me. For our second pregnancy, doulas were not allowed in the hospital because of Covid restrictions, so Sherri provided phone support to us when I went into labor. Our 2nd daughter was born 56 minutes after arriving at the hospital! Once we got home, we hired Sherri for 13 weeks to be our postpartum doula. She cared for our newborn and toddler so I could rest, made us the most delicious meals, lactation bites, and desserts, and whatever laundry was in process when she'd arrive to work was neatly folded by the end of her shift. And then for our third baby, we opted for a homebirth, and Sherri was by my side for our very quick labor and dreamy water birth delivery. She was back for postpartum care a few days later and worked with us for 12 weeks. I always say Sherri helped me learn how to fly after each baby. It was purely magical having her help postpartum in those weeks after adding another member to our family. From helping us create a calming birth environment and offering position suggestions, to babywearing and breastfeeding advice, to the best deep dish fudgy oatmeal bars you'll EVER eat, I treasure everything Sherri has done for me and my family!
