I volunteer within my certifying organization (NAPS).
I primarily provide overnight care and will ensure you and your baby have the most restful night possible. I will support your feeding goals, whether that's directly latching, bottle-feeding, or a combination of both. I will also provide all care for the infant, including diapering, soothing, and getting them to sleep. While I am there, you will not have any infant responsibilities other than directly feeding them, if that's how you're choosing to feed your baby. If the shift allows, I will also wash/sterilize/reassemble bottles and pump parts. Overnight shifts are 8-9 hours long, usually 9/10p-6/7a. Evening shifts are 3 hours long, usually 6-9p, and can include additional services such as laundry and light cleaning as well as more extensive education and product consultation, or can simply provide you with a break or company. I have experience working with clients who are using Carrot benefits and am a member of their Doula Directory.

Post a testimonial for Brooke Maddox

Brooke was an essential part of our early postpartum care and support. She was extremely professional, kind, and thoughtful in her work with our newborn and our entire family. Brooke is excellent at communicating expectations, and roles and responsibilities. She provided helpful suggestions on safe sleep, and pumping and bottle feeding. It was so valuable to have her as part of our team.

Brooke was with us every other night for the first six weeks of our daughter's life, starting the day after we got home from the hospital. The support Brooke provided enabled my husband and I to get more sleep and feel more confident caring for our daughter, especially in those early blurry postpartum days.
Since I was exclusively breastfeeding I spent a lot of time with Brooke during feeds, covering the latest challenges we were facing, parenting trends, and our latest reads. Brooke provided information, her perspective, and advice that we used to navigate a baby that felt different every day. She even worked to win over our slightly overly enthusiastic watchdog!
Brooke was dependable and communicated clearly throughout our time working with her. When Brooke had to miss a shift out of an abundance of caution due to illness, she worked quickly to find backup coverage and schedule a makeup shift.

Booking Brooke as our postpartum doula from our second day home was the best decision that we made for our family as new parents. She made such a huge impact over the course of the first month - setting us off on the right foot with our baby girl and making my recovery smoother after an unexpected C-section.
Brooke made us feel calm, supported and at ease during this time of big change. We learned a lot from her like baby wearing, baby care, pumping etc. Whatever questions or concerns we had, she took the time to answer with care. She has extensive breastfeeding knowledge and is the reason why I stuck with it (after almost giving up due to painful latching). Her experience was invaluable and encouraging, helping with positions and better latching.
I really enjoyed Brookes warm personality, sense of humor and will miss our chats/laughs during the early hours of the morning.
We only wish that we could have booked Brooke for longer, she is truly amazing.

Brooke provided nighttime support for our family at least three nights a week for ten weeks, and she was truly exceptional. Her extensive knowledge and deep experience immediately put us at ease. Brooke had a magical ability with our baby daughter, effortlessly burping her and helping her settle into restful sleep quickly. She gently taught our daughter how to sleep independently, which was invaluable.
Brooke’s proactive approach and intelligence were evident from the start, and her vibrant personality made our nighttime interactions genuinely enjoyable. She provided compassionate and consistent encouragement, especially valuable as she supported us through six weeks of triple feeding—a challenging journey she made significantly easier.
Thanks to Brooke, we got much-needed rest and felt genuinely supported throughout those crucial early weeks. Her care significantly improved our overall well-being, and it’s clear our daughter adored her too.
Any family would be fortunate to have Brooke as their doula.

We were so happy we had Brooke as our night doula to let us get a few nights of great sleep! She took great care of our daughter Bonnie. Bonnie seemed really happy each morning.

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Brooke as our postpartum night doula, and I can say without hesitation that she was the number 1 best decision we made in preparing for this life transition. From the very first night, Brooke brought calm, confidence, and a deep well of knowledge into our home. She’s a true professional—punctual, organized, and clear in her communication. Her contract was straightforward, and we had zero issues getting reimbursed through Carrot, which made the logistics a breeze.
Beyond the paperwork, Brooke is pure magic. She’s like Mary Poppins with that incredible bag of hers—always pulling out just the right item or piece of advice exactly when we needed it. Whether it was measuring for my flange size, teaching me about my pump’s features, or helping us choose the right carrier for our under-8 lb baby, she had thoughtful, experience-backed recommendations for literally everything.
Throughout her shifts, she stayed on top of making sure I always had clean sets of pump parts and bottles ready to go before she left—something that might seem small, but made a huge difference in the day-to-day feeding of a newborn.
Brooke’s presence was a perfect mix of warm, supportive, and fun. She immediately picked up on the humor between my husband and me and added her own sparkle to it—her laugh is contagious and made those hazy nights a lot brighter.
If I could do anything differently, I would have brought Brooke in the first night we got home from the hospital. Her support would have made that transition from 24/7 inpatient care so much smoother.
Brooke comes with my highest recommendation. She’ll always be part of our family’s story, and we’re endlessly grateful for the care and wisdom she shared with us.

Highly recommend Brooke as an exceptionally caring, kind, and professional doula. As a pregnant woman with a supportive partner, I had no idea what to expect (as much as we read and prepare for everything!!) when becoming a new mom. Brooke truly went above and beyond what I could even imagine in terms of care for my daughter - who was underweight and needed extra feedings--for me, and for my husband [and dog :) ]. Brooke was attentive, thoughtful and compassionate toward my daughter, which was the most important aspect for us. She was also attentive to our needs. She answered all of our questions and gave us various helpful resources regarding childcare and postpartum care. I could not think of a better person than Brooke to help us out with welcoming our precious, brand new baby girl into this world.

We had a great experience working with Brooke the first 3 months of our second baby's life. She is very reliable and a proactive communicator. I felt very comfortable leaving baby in her hands--she has a magic touch for soothing, burping, and feeding little ones! Brooke is also super knowledgeable about baby development and always had great ideas to try as challenges arose or new milestones were on the horizon, like making the leap from swaddle+bassinet to sleep sack+crib. She has experience with lots of different baby products and was able to recommend or bring things to try like swaddles, bottles, etc. She is also great for a middle-of-the-night chat if you're breastfeeding and need someone to pass the time with. We only wish we could keep working with Brooke longer!

Brooke provided overnight support for us during the first month of our son's life. She was always punctual, professional and great at handling our newborn son. Being first time parents, her knowledge about newborn care and development was very appreciated. We were very at ease having her care for our baby and her help during night time feeds made those nights so much easier for me. We are very thankful for her help at very short notice, it gave us a great start to our son's life.

I had two overnight experiences with Brooke and she was wonderful. Even though she hasn't spent much time with my 2 1/2 month old baby girl, she was fast to learn and followed directions. She was very gentle with her and showed attention to detail. She also did light cleaning around my house, sterilized bottles. I definitely recommend her to be your doula!
