Kilae is genuinely one of the gentlest, kindest, most thoughtful & thought provoking people I have ever met. She came in to my life at a time that I didn’t know I would need her, helped me steer my ship straight and perfectly through storms and waves.

With my 3rd pregnancy I thought I knew everything I needed to know about pregnancy, birth and advocating for myself & my baby. Little did I know I was going to encounter scenarios that I really needed to educate myself. Kilae gently nudged me in a direction that was so incredibly self empowering. She helped me understand how powerful & capable I am as a woman and a Mother.

One of my favourite qualities about Kilae is her mellow and even energy level. I can be fairly intense at times but found simply being around Kilae, my energy would naturally ground itself even in stressful situations.

There are some people in this world that everyone & everything they touch turns to gold, they add love, positivity & encouragement to every encounter. Kilae’s is one of these rare human beings.

To my amazing birth doula ??

Dear Kilae,

From the bottom of my heart, I want to say that I am beyond grateful to have had you as my doula. Thank you for everything—for all the knowledge that you shared with Joe and me regarding birth, for teaching us breathing techniques for labour and delivery, for always listening to my concerns, and for giving me all the support and resources to cope with them. But mainly, I want to say thank you for helping me achieve the birth of my dreams and for helping me change my mindset about childbirth.

Throughout my whole life, I always thought and heard from others that giving birth was a traumatic experience and that you don’t have control over everything. However, after I met you, I realized that childbirth can be the most wonderful experience. I feel like a different person; giving birth to Chloé empowered me and changed my whole perspective on motherhood. Thank you for being my advocate at the hospital and for teaching me that every contraction was not pain but power bringing me closer to my baby. You were our angel on this journey, and this experience will be engraved in my heart forever.

I could not recommend Kilae enough! I had the amazing opportunity of having Kilae at my birth in December Christmas Day. Her presence and gentleness during my labor was so beneficial. It kept me level headed and thinking clearly. She ensured that my birth plan was honoured and my space was respected. During labor we are at our most vulnerable and it gave me such peace knowing that I had a doula their to advocate for my child and I. Our prenatal visits were very helpful and she made it her mission to help around the home to ensure that I can rest..if you are looking for a doula to advocate for your rights, to provide the best support throughout your pregnancy/birth/postpartum Kilae will definitely not disappoint??. Thank you Kilae for the support and welcoming my fifth child!

Kilae was such a blessing to me for my third pregnancy, birth & postpartum experience. Her presence was immediately calming and genuine the first time we met and conversation flowed naturally. She took note of any concerns I had and would offer helpful suggestions or follow up with additional information to better support myself through pregnancy and birth. Her thoughtful texts and emails made me feel so cared for during a vulnerable time. I knew I wanted a home birth and had always dreamed of a water birth but worried it would be too complicated. Kilae encouraged me to go for it and assisted sourcing everything and I’m forever grateful she did as it was a huge relief to labor in the water. She came prepared with so many extra details to make it a more comfortable and meaningful experience. Kilae encouraged me to think through exactly how I wanted my birth to go and empowered me to be confident about which interventions I was comfortable with or wanting to decline. I truly cannot imagine not having had her there with us during the birth and the photos and videos she took will be cherished forever. Thank you Kilae!!

All my friends that have had the privilege of Kilae being their doula have raved about how kind and hard working she is! She has helped me so much as a post partum doula and I am so unbelievably grateful for her. Kilae is very skilled and professional, not only in knowing her information but also with being very empathetic, none judgmental and trust worthy. She has a natural talent of calming people with her gentle, insightful and thoughtful nature. Her intuitiveness is unmatched and she's been through a lot of things in life that has clearly brought her so much wisdom in being able to work well under so many different scenarios. You are truly blessed if you have the privilege of being able to work with Kilae as your doula!! She's a beautiful soul!! ♥?
