I have two decades of experience working as an educator, producer, program director and foster care provider. My work has always been centered on attunement; taking that extra time to listen, and hone in on how to create celebration and care around the stories that shape us. I began my career as a history teacher, and moved to Portland in 2008 to direct and develop middle school programs. I later started a small business focused on curriculum development and producing public art and films that share the stories of women, LGBTQ, and Black and brown communities. I sit on the board of Black United Fund and Pathfinders Network of Oregon. I produced and managed the installation of the Black Heritage Art Markers on Alberta Street, the first LGBTQ mural in Portland, Never Look Away, and the Fiercest Athletes mural across from Powell's Bookstore. My life’s purpose has always been attuning to the stories around us, to create a more full vision of our collective possibilities. My own pregnancies and birth experiences have led me to shift my skills and passions towards supporting the birthing experience for families. I have focused my work on celebrating, acknowledging and making room for the stories that shape us—and I believe that birth is one of the singularly most important stories we have.

Fee Details

I provide you with unlimited email and phone support from the date of hire. Over 2 visits, we will unpack your feelings on birth, identify your birth plan, discuss what to expect during labor and practice labor strategies based on your birth plan. I'll be on-call for your birth 24 hours a day during your due date range (4 weeks). You'll receive continuous birth support during labor and 1-2 postpartum visits.
