Maria Elena was not just my doula, she was a 'godsend'!

I began searching for a doula late in my pregnancy after taking classes that led me to decide that I wanted to try for a delivery with the least medical intervention possible. I interviewed several doulas and was on the fence on whether or not to hire one in general (cost benefit? Would it make a difference or aren't women wired to just know how to do this?) and I finally decided to start the journey with Maria when I was 36 weeks pregnant. Let me just say Maria was MORE then worth it. Even though there was only a few short weeks left of my pregnancy, she went above and beyond to see me and ensure that my mind & my body were prepared and comfortable with what was coming ahead during those weeks. She made the most out of the time left to prepare me, and not once felt overwhelmed with an influx of information/data - only what was important and relevant for me at that time, which kept me relaxed and focused on the big day.

Maria was the perfect doula - a balance of SO much compassion, love and motherly like care, along with a WEALTH of knowledge and tons of EXPERIENCE. She also is a yoga instructor and has so many helpful poses, along with ayurvedic background. She even impressed the L&D nurses who learned a thing of two from her. She also was so helpful during postpartum and until now, I ask her questions whenever I want a second or third opinion on something related to baby. Don't think twice - you will be so happy with your choice.

Being first time parents we are so grateful for everything Riley and Adele did to help us through this transition in our lives. I remember thinking at first is getting a doula worth it and now looking back its 100% worth it. Prior to the birth Adele and Riley were both there to answer any of our questions and when I had to go to the hospital due to some possible pregnancy complications both Riley and Adele were ready to drop what they were doing to come and support me.

During the birth they both gave me and my partner an unlimited amount of support and when I felt like giving up on my goal of a home birth they were both there to pick me back up and hype me up and reminded me how strong I am. One of the things I loved the most was the pictures they took during the birth it is something we will hold close to us for the rest of our lives.

The postpartum care was phenomenal both Riley and Adele were there to answer any questions we had which as new parents there were a lot. Once my partner went back to work Adele came and helped me out around the house when I needed it which I am so grateful for as two months later I am definitely still trying to adjust.
