Lori was such a dream doula to work with! This was my third baby - my first I had with epidural which turned into intervention after intervention and was not a good experience. My second was high risk resulting in a scheduled c section. And for my third I knew I wanted to do all natural. When I came across Lori online I immediately just felt like she would be the one to get me the birth I wanted. She was with us every step of the way guiding myself and my husband and I felt so confident and comfortable. Even during labour when I started to lose some confidence she was right there reminding I could do it! Lori is the full package giving you exactly what you want and need as well as helping advocate for your birth plan. I don’t think I would’ve made it through if it weren’t for her hip squeezes and position suggestions. I am so grateful for having Lori by my side and cannot recommend her enough! She’s truly the best.

I cannot recommend Lori enough as a doula! She was absolutely wonderful, and her prenatal visits were vital in educating both me and my husband, giving us the confidence we needed. We didn’t have a doula for my first pregnancy, and after that experience, I knew I wanted extra support this time around. From the moment we met, it felt like reconnecting with a long-lost friend. My first birth left me feeling like my body had failed me after a 3-day long stalled labor, during which I felt pressured into a medical induction that ultimately ended in a c-section. Lori's support helped me regain the confidence to approach my second birth with strength and peace of mind. Her knowledge and compassionate care played a huge role in my healing and allowed me to have the natural home birth of my dreams, where I was able to birth my own baby! I’m especially thankful for the TENS machine, which made such a difference during labor. Thanks to Lori, I was able to experience the birth I had always hoped for. I’m so grateful for her support!

Lori was my absolute rock (aside from my husband) through my pregnancy journey! Incredibly educated and she just has the 6th sense. I felt as if we were long time friends from step one.

I felt fully supported and heard in every choice I made for myself and baby along the way. When complications arose during the birth experience and we had to transfer to the hospital - I felt so confident in every decision we made.

At the beginning of my birth experience there was an emergency that delayed Lori's attendance. I was attended by 2 of the doulas on her team. They were absolutely fantastic and we're seamless in their support and understanding. I didn't have to explain my birth plan and I didn't feel like my space was changed - just fluid seamless support for me and my baby.

No matter what your birth plan - Lori Mork is THAT person that can hold that special space for your vision. Recommend her services 10x over.

Thank you Lori ??

Lori was our doula for our second birth. From the start, we could tell that she absolutely loves birth. She made me feel excited about my birth. Lori is super knowledgeable when it comes to physiologic birth. She also knows about different hospitals in the lower mainland and was happy to support us at BC Women’s. Throughout my pregnancy, she was super responsive and helpful. Even with a small concern, she would respond immediately, share any related resources and make me feel confident. She is very easy to talk to. We created a birth preference plan together. My labour ended up going super fast. She coordinated with my husband to meet us at the hospital. My husband shared that he really appreciated Lori’s confidence and ability to keep us all calm when we had to quickly adjust plans. She really went with the flow and was with us every step of the way. We are so grateful we had her on our team! She was also such a rockstar, attending several births in a row the week we gave birth. She showed up with a smile, ready to support even though she must have been so tired!! Thank you, Lori!! <3

I found Lori’s information as I was searching the Doulas For Aboriginal Families Grant Program website with a client who was interested in further labour support. Lori was so quick to reply to our email and eager to connect with the client to offer her support. I have since had multiple clients receive her support through this program and all have nothing but wonderful things to say about their experience with Lori both during labour/delivery as well as before and after. All have accessed her support through the Grant Program and have had her care completely covered. She makes the application process effortless which is a huge benefit to women who may be feeling overwhelmed with pregnancy, supports, etc.

I had so many issues, with finding a Doula, and being able to afford one. I originally had one, and she bailed on me very last minute.I then, found Lori, who I actually did not get a chance to meet until the day my water broke (we already had an appointment for prenatal that day lol).Talk about meant to be!I ended up doing a drive in birth. I had my son, from home, to the hospital within 3 hours, and Lori was right by my side the entire time, and helping ease any contraction pain I had, by massaging, and pressing on my hips from my back.My goal was to have a natural birth, however, the doctor was planning for c-section, lori helped myself, and my partner advocate for a few more minutes, to give myself a bit more time. While time was up, the doctor rushed myself into the operating room, and just as they were about to cutt, out came my beautiful baby boy naturally!Lori, was right, and she knew I knew, how to birth my baby, and I simply just needed more time, as this was my second babyboy!I was at RCH, and they said my babyboy needed a surgery, and transferred us to BC Womans and Childrens, we got there and they didnt know who we were, or why (doctor forgot to submit paperwork). They then re-examined my babyboy, and determined he did not need a surgery. During this time, I was high blood pressure, under a lot of stress, and even with breastfeeding, and Lori, was my saving grace! She helped me with so much, and I will never forget it. Im truly thankful, to have found her.Lori, visited myself, after having my babyboy, at literally both hospitals, and was willing to give myself extra postpartum help, as my prenatal appointments we didnt quite get to.  She made everything as stress free as possible. My babyboy, is now 5 months old, and the happiest ever!

Lori was beside me on the birth of my sixth baby. I was emotionally relieved to have a doula in those challenging moments. Due to Lori's wisdom and experience I had a positive birth experience. When I called Lori that I am in labor she promptly acted and was on the way to support me right away. During labor Lori used music, her hands, and other techniques to comfort me. She was breathing with me which made me much easier to go through contractions. The best thing is, Lori was with me not only on the big day, but she was coaching me with suggestions and support before and after birth. She's prompt on texting, replying back and always ready to help. Very reliable, trustworthy, knowlegeable and supportive. I highly recommend Lori to anyone looking for a doula, for support before, during and after birth whether it's your first or sixth baby. I will be forever grateful to you, Lori! You are in my baby's memory book story.

Me and my partner got lori to be our doula at the last legs of our pregnancy and we were so happy that lori was able to come to our rescue. I've always wanted a natural birth I was desperate for a doula who shared the same views as I did. Lori was just awesome. She was able to come onboard just as we thought we would be be able to find one and she answered all our questions and concerns with evidence based research. She sent us great resources for prenatal and postpartum care and how to prepare for birth. I had a 72hour labor and she came to help a couple of nights with hip squeezes after which we decided to go to hospital. She was there all throughout the labor till delivery and she helped me though the most critical part of the labor which was the pushing where I was so exhausted I was asking for a vaccum delivery. She and my midwife so and into action and she coached me through each push until finally I was able to deliver without any interventions. She is a great person to have on your birth team if you want someone who has an  extremely calm presence and who will see through your vision for birth.

As a public health nurse, I have witnessed firsthand the exceptional care and dedication that Lori provides to her clients. Lori embodies professionalism in every aspect of her work, consistently demonstrating a high level of expertise and commitment to supporting families through the birth process. Lori's knowledge of birth practices is evident in her ability to navigate complex situations with ease and confidence. Lori was an incredibly proactive and reliable doula. I always felt comfortable with her—she is kind, friendly, and humorous. She sends weekly resources that were helpful and informative, and responds to text messages very quickly. Her prenatal visits were key to my and my husband’s preparation for labor, and during the postnatal visit she helped me get more comfortable with breastfeeding. Overall she’s an excellent doula and I would recommend her, especially for first-time parents, like us.

When we found out we were expecting, my partner and I talked about getting a doula. As first time parents planning a natural home birth, we thought having the extra support would be helpful. However when we started looking into it, it didn't fit our budget. It wasn't until later in my pregnancy during a midwife appointment, that I learned about BCAAFC and their grant program. Had it not been for the DAFGP, we would not have been able to hire a doula. Through Doula Finder, we found Lori, who really aligned with our home birth vision. Lori is a very passionate doula and truly knowledgeable about all things birth. We met with her about 2 months before our due date where she fully explained how the birth could go and it helped me visualize what I would be going through. I felt prepared and knew what to expect. I was planning a natural home birth so there was some fear around the pain I might experience but Lori put my mind to rest and addressed all of my concerns. She really made me feel powerful and confident over my birth and my ability to birth my baby my way. Also, having her available 24/7 to text or call with any random questions, as well as having access to her online client portal where she shares weekly resources, was very valuable. My birth experience was peaceful and unexpectedly quick and I appreciate her support and her experience both during and after labor. Lori is an amazing advocate to have by your side throughout pregnancy, labor and beyond and I highly recommend her.

When my wife decided to obtain the services of a Doula, I was the typical husband and replied, “do whatever you want”. I’m so glad she sought out the services offered by Lori. As a partner, I was not really sure how to “support” my wife during the birthing process. I’ve heard from numerous colleagues about obtaining the services of a Doula.
When Lori met with us for the first time, she was genuine and sincere. I appreciated her sharing knowledge and educating us on what a birth plan was, which I had no idea existed. I always assumed the medical staff at hospitals did all the work during delivery, and we had no voice in any matters. When I was told I can be there to “catch the baby” and cut the umbilical chord, I was shocked that I could even participate. Lori was so awesome in letting us know various options during the lead up to and the actual birth. It was certainly educational and helpful to me to know what went on during the whole birth process.
When my wife was in labor and having contractions, Lori provided a calm and reassuring demeanour. We worked together as a team to support my wife. From offering words of encouragement, to informing the nurses of what was transpiring with my wife, to ensuring my wife was comfortable and being attuned to her needs, who knew assisting with “hip squeezes” would be such a workout, I’m glad Lori was there! When it was go time and my wife was giving birth, it was so helpful to know what was going to happen next and Lori was there beside me. Being a part of the actual delivery of my son and not standing off to the side was one of the most memorable moments in my life, all thanks to Lori!

We met Lori pretty late in our pregnancy due to us not being sure if we wanted to go with a doula or not. In the end, we were beyond grateful that we did. We did meet with several doulas, and from our meeting, we felt Lori's personality was a great fit for both my partner and myself. She's very knowledgeable and experienced, and was also available during our EDD. She was such a great support during the early early stages of labour; she was so easy and approachable with any little questions, whether I felt stupid to ask them or not. She was so personable and such a great support, especially throughout the entire labour and delivery. Despite the reassurance of my partner and the prep we had with classes and talking with Lori, I still felt anxious leading up to the delivery; but Lori was ever so supportive and present that she eased all that anxiety and tension for both myself and my partner. She provided tools to help with the early early stages of labour, and even with over a week after being home do my partner and I talk about how grateful Lori was there to guide and support us during this new experience! Because of her, she made our birthing experience such a pleasant experience! I would totally recommend her to anyone even considering a doula!

I first met Lori pretty late into my pregnancy, at the recommendation of my midwife. From the first conversation, I felt such a connection to Lori. During our first two meetings, she was such a wealth of knowledge. She made me feel such power over my birth and that I was allowed to have the birth that I wanted, and gave me confidence to advocate for myself, my body, and my baby. She was available whenever I needed her. And most importantly, she was there for the birth of our daughter. My labour was unexpectedly quick, with fast, intense contractions, and Lori was right by my side with my husband talking me through each one. And in the quick turn of events as my daughter couldn't wait to arrive, Lori was the one to catch and deliver her. She was right by my side for the aftercare, and made me feel so safe. She's kept in touch during the postpartum phase, and has just been amazing. I highly recommend her, as she is an amazing advocate to have by your side in pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
