Emily Made Our Natural Birth Possible

We cannot recommend Emily highly enough. From our first meeting through postpartum, she was the perfect balance of supportive and practical—always available when we needed her, proactively checking in, but never overwhelming.

During our prep phase, Emily walked us through birth plan options and contingency planning, explaining exactly how she'd coach us through each scenario. She even visited our home to review our setup and make recommendations we hadn't considered. Her preparation gave us confidence going into the big day.

During labor, Emily was invaluable. She coached us on positions to help with natural birth—honestly, we would have just been sitting there without her guidance. As an RN, she seamlessly worked with the nursing staff to advocate for us and manage the flow of the room. She relieved me when I needed to step out for water or food so my partner was never alone. Throughout everything, Emily remained patient, capable, and steady-handed.  She was there for 14+hours, her stamina was incredible. Her confidence in the process helped us stay confident too.

Her support didn't end at delivery. Emily followed up postpartum, helped with insurance invoice submissions, and did a home visit where she offered feeding and settling recommendations, plus practical tips like keeping snacks by the bed. She also captured incredible photos during the birth (great value!)—moments we treasure since the experience goes by in such a blur.

Emily's direct, clear, and practical demeanor was exactly what we needed. She partnered with us in a way that let us fully participate in our birth while always feeling supported. Whether you're a first-time or experienced parent, Emily is an expert who will make your birth experience better. Giving birth is simply better with Emily at your side.

Where to even start...I suppose that i was absolutely terrified of giving birth. Emily was my constant rock and support from day 1. She was working with me to educate myself to make sure I had the correct information to make informed decisions on what my birth experience could be...and that was before we even got to the hospital! Then, I got admitted to be induced unexpectedly. Emily showed up for me in every possible way she could. The staff at the hospital absolutely adored working with her, and my birth experience would not have been nearly as relaxed and successful without her strong wisdom and guidance. In the end, we had to make some decisions on the fly and again, Emily was an amazing ally and resource to have on my team. I felt supported and EMPOWERED (something I never thought I would feel, as all I previously felt was fear and anxiety). If you are on the fence about having a doula, you need to absolutely do yourself the favor and look no further because she is the real deal.

It’s hard to put into words everything Emily has done for me.

In my first birth, I did not have a doula and it was a very difficult delivery and recovery. In hindsight, I wished a had a doula for support. That experience taught me a wanted and needed a doula for future deliveries.

Emily was with me for the birth of second and third child. Emily served as a bereavement doula during my second birth, but despite the circumstances, Emily made my experience beautiful and she was the support I needed during such difficult circumstances. I am healing from our loss so well because of her support. She helped hold my hand during the biggest trauma of my life, labor with me in the shower, and took pictures of the daughter we lost (which I cherish to this day).

Emily continued to serve as support through finding out I was pregnant with my third child. She helped me develop a delivery plan that aligned with my goals. She also offered pregnancy support such as stretches and exercises as well as suggesting I see other support services such as a physical therapist and chiropractor. When I struggled with prodromal labor she was a sounding board to get me through. I felt so prepared for birth with Emily’s help. When I went into labor, I labored at home with her suggestions and eventually got to the hospital ready to push baby out. I was so prepared that I had an unmedicated delivery. I was so proud of myself and so happy with my redemptive birth. I know that was possible because of Emily.

I recommend Emily to anyone wanting support during pregnancy and delivery. She is extremely knowledgeable and honors her clients goals and wishes.

I cannot recommend Emily highly enough! From our very first meeting, she brought a calm, reassuring presence and a wealth of knowledge that made us feel supported and empowered!

Emily took the time to truly understand our birth preferences, answered every question with care and clarity, and helped us navigate decisions with confidence. She is completely amazing in every way.

Emily is wonderful. She knows how to talk to you when you don’t know how to listen. She really helped me figure out what to do through labor and birth, which I had never done before. A lot of my birth experience did not go the way I had wanted it to originally, but Emily stayed on the ready to keep me calm and talk me through it.

Emily met with me before the birth of our son, even before we knew she'd be the one to help us deliver. She had great insight, was extremely encouraging, and made sure to check in every step of the way. When the time came and my husband and I were sent to the hospital for our induction, Emily was great about answering our questions and checking in via telephone so that she could really get a gauge on how I was feeling. Once we were in active labor, Emily came to the hospital. The minute she walked in the room, she stepped in gently and helped us to labor. She knew the importanance of God in our lives and  encouraged my husband to pray over me and our baby while laboring. Emily was amazing- working with us to try and get baby boy down the birth canal. When I developed preeclampsia and had to labor in the bed, Emily persisted and worked tirelesly with the nurses and doctors to get me and baby into the best position. Something that Emily told me that stuck with me was, "If it ever goes from pain to suffering, then we need to reevaluate." That was so incredibly freeing for me, as someone who had every intention of laboring naturally and whose plans went entirely out the window. When I decided to get an epidural, Emily was supportive and even proceeded to sponge bathe me, so that I would be more comfortable as I prepared to welcome our son into the world. We labored for hours more, eventually ending up needing a c-section. While I could have felt so defeated, Emily spoke life and truth over me and my husband and supported us throughout the whole process. Even after our birth, Emily has continued to check-in and even came to visit, bringing me some post partum goodies and a plant propagated form a plant passed down through her family- so sweet!

We are so thankful for Emily! As first time parents, we really couldn't have done it without her!

The decision to use a Doula as a first time mom was the best decision. Choosing Emily as my Doula? I couldn't have had a better experience. From our first FaceTime meeting I could sense her compassion, empathy, and passion for what she does. Throughout my pregnancy Emily provided such great advice and suggestions to help make pregnancy such a positive experience for me. She eased the concerns of my husband as well, answering all of our questions with such professionalism, warmth and with a great sense of knowledge. During my labor and delivery Emily came in and immediately made the room comfortable, and set a calm tone for the rest of my babies birth. Her coaching was firm and caring. Again, I can't say enough how much you can tell that this is her passion and calling in life. Choosing Emily as my Doula truly was a blessing that I'll be forever grateful for.

Emily is 10/10 AMAZING to work with. From the meetings leading up to giving birth, to actually giving birth, and then postpartum. She is so knowledgeable and I love that she has a background in medical but also believes in doing things naturally, if that's the way you want to do it. She was a huge support during labor and advocated for what I wanted. I truly do not think I could have had a vaginal birth without her there. Now, I keep recommending her to all my friends thinking about having a baby !

My wife and I weren't sure if we wanted a Duola, but after we interviewed a few, we decided to invest in Emily. I can think of few better decisions we made during the course of our journey. She is a nurse with medical knowledge, a mother, and understands birth in a way you can't if you haven't experienced it.

She met with us to develop goals, helped me—the partner—advocate, and was a constant resource for all the inevitable questions. On the day, I would have been lost without her. But she helped me figure out exactly how to support my wife at every moment. We are both convinced labor would have been hours longer without her expertise.

Even after, the nurses pulled us aside and said she was one of the best duolas they’d ever had. After birth, she’s been kind, supportive, did our newborn photography, and cemented herself as an incredibly positive part of the whole experience. I highly, highly recommend her.

Emily did an incredible job as our Doula from beginning to end. Her style demonstrates a blend of confidence, experience & knowledge that is complimented by her training as a nurse. My 1st born was by cesarean. With my 2nd, I wanted to have a VBAC. I decided to find a doula later in my pregnancy because I lacked confidence that my body could birth vaginally. When I finally convinced myself to try, we reached out to Emily. After several interviews, my husband and I chose her as our doula. She was encouraging and confident that I could have a VBAC. By then, I was in my 36th week and there was little time, but Emily was able to offer lots of options for us to get our two pre-natal visits with her completed right away. She is very organized & economical with time, so she was able to share a lot of information and support of my needs in each visit and we never felt rushed. She provided handouts for stretches and positions to practice in preparation for labor. We met her at her home office for one visit and she traveled the hour to come to my home for the other visit. At 40 weeks, I decided to schedule Emily's induction support services. On the day that we met, I also had my next ultrasound scheduled. They found that my fluid was a bit lower than they liked. We waited 24 hours before accepting pitocin however, I already had mild contractions because of using the methods Emily showed us. Emily always encouraged me to listen to my own intuition, to remain positive, (since we knew my baby was not in any danger) and to do what I felt was best. Ultimately, I had my VBAC after 16 hours of labor. Emily joined us at the hospital once the pitocin kicked in and she was a wonderful support through the labor and until baby successfully latched. It was so nice to have her back for the postpartum visit, and it felt like visiting with an old friend. I am grateful to Emily for all her skills and care & I highly recommend her services.

My husband and I decided late in pregnancy (~34 weeks) that we wanted a doula, and we could not have made a better choice than Emily. She was incredibly supportive throughout the whole process, offering exercises for late pregnancy to improve my overall comfort, and checking in regularly to see if there was anything that I needed. Once labor started, she helped to talk me through different positions to labor in, communicated my needs to the medical staff when I was in the middle of contractions and couldn't talk, and overall was a comforting presence in the hospital room. I can't say for sure that my labor was faster because of her coaching, but I can say that, with it being my first pregnancy, I would have been much less prepared and much less calm during delivery without her there.

I had the pleasure of having Emily by my side from the time I found out I was pregnant to now! Emily gave birth to her baby girl less than 2 weeks before my son made his big debut (three weeks early)!! Even though Emily was taking care of her newborn and toddler, she didn’t hesitate to still act as my doula and my dear friend. She planned to be present physically… even asking if her husband would drive her all the way to Chester County to be there (I told her she was crazy with a 12 day old at home!!)— she didn’t hesitate. Although, she couldn’t be there in person she was there for me every step of the way, virtually. Whether it was FaceTime, text messages, reaching out to my sister to get updates .. she was always checking in (during, after and to this day) on my baby but also me. I loved a 2 am check in. Anytime I have a question or concern I know Emily has the answer, would find the answer, or be a listening ear. She is someone I can rely on and trust whole-heartily. She may not have been physically present during my birth but she was there every step of the way. She is so passionate about this and anyone who has the chance to see her in action is one lucky mama and baby.

My husband and I had the pleasure of having Emily as our doula for our daughter’s birth. We decided an all natural birth was our goal, so we discussed our potential birth plan with Emily. She answered every question we had and helped to make our final decision.

We opted for an all natural birth with clinical support from midwives. Emily was there to help with everything- starting from the minute my water broke to leaving the birth center after our daughter was born.

She helped track contractions, alleviate discomfort with essential oils and massage techniques, and countless other things. She worked hand in hand with the midwives to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. With her background as a nurse, I knew I was in good hands with Emily as our doula.

I could not recommend Emily enough. She was there for our first time parent postpartum questions and checked in with us regularly. (To this day she continues to check in on us.)

We could not be more grateful to have had her as our doula. You will not find anyone as passionate as Emily!
