I am so happy we contacted Elizabeth to help with my second birth.  I was very nervous because I wanted to attempt a VBAC but her positivity & encouragement was just what I needed.  She was very easy to get ahold of and very flexible as well.  For tech savvy people - she's a great texted too!  When labor began she was right there to help me along the way but she also let me take control too.  she doesn't stop helping after birth;  she continues to lend an ear for support or postpartum questions.

i would high sugges Elizabeth as a Doula to any moms to be.

My husband and I hired Beth for my natural VBAC birth. My first birth was long and ended up in a caesarean for my failure to progress. I knew that if my second birth was just as long, I would need the mental and physical support to get through it, especially with a VBAC. Beth was an amazing asset to me and my birth team! She was there for me from the very start and stayed with me in the hospital for almost two days. Beth was comforting, motivating and calming. I was able to have my successful VBAC birth and I wouldn't have changed a thing about it (except maybe the length of my labor, haha!). Thank you, Beth!

Working with Beth as our doula was a wonderful experience. She was so supportive and had helpful advice during my pregnancy, labor and birth. Working with Beth felt very natural and she is a nurturing, kind soul. I had planned a home birth but had a particularly difficult and long labor. I don't think I could have gone so long (3days) without the mental and physical support of Beth, my wonderful midwife and my loving husband. We ended up at the hospital but I felt confident that our wishes would be met with Beth and my birth team by my side. I highly recommend Beth and her services to anyone in search of a doula. I felt amazing taking the placenta pills she prepared for me, in fact I wish I had a lifetime supply of them! Beth also makes the best lactation bars I've ever had! Beth has a big personality and a huge heart. I feel so grateful for her presence in our lives at such a magical moment. Forever blessed.

We had a water/home birth in 2014 with Beth as our doula and we were very thankful she was there! Her gentle unobtrusive assistance and support was very valued and she went above and beyond. For example, she was willing to take some snapshots for us on our camera immediately after delivery. These pictures are treasured reminders of our experience and we would definitely do it again!  Before, during, and even after labor/birth, it was just reassuring to know we could contact her with any questions or concerns. Having worked as a doula myself, I had a good idea of what to expect, but it was so nice to be on the receiving end of her abundant care & compassion! I highly recommend having a doula in general, but if you are lucky enough to get Beth, you are in excellent "mothering" hands.

When I began the process of researching doulas, I had a rough idea of what I was looking for. I wanted someone who was warm, friendly, and outgoing with a loving, motherly personality. It was also very important to me to find someone who had given birth and was personally experienced with it!! For some reason, that was a non-negotiable for me.

As soon as I came across Beth's listing on DoulaMatch, I knew she was the perfect one for me. Meeting her in person only solidified that for me. My water broke around midnight and she made the hour+ drive to my house in the middle of the night, so she was with me right from the start. I was in labor for almost two full days and she was there through all of it. Giving birth with her by my side was everything I could have hoped for. She was amazing. She was able to offset my labor pains by applying counter-pressure, she spoon fed me when I was too exhausted to lift a utensil to my mouth, and she talked me through the entire process. I really think that's what helped me the most - she was so good at distracting me when I needed to be distracted and so good at keeping me focused when I needed to stay focused. I adore her, and will hire her again in a heartbeat when it's time for baby number two.

I just can't say enough good things about Beth!  She is a true professional and so dedicated to the families she works with. <3

My husband and I were expecting our first child. We wanted a positive experience and the ability to have someone to be soley dedicated to us through this experience; from prenatal to delivery to postpartum. Beth was this person for us. She has a laid back but knowledgeable persona. We feel she went above and beyond the duties outlined in her profile. She works her best to make your birth plan possible and has excellent relationships with hospital staff and OBGYNs. Having a doula made our birthing experience relaxed for my husband and I.

Beth was a great support for my husband and I . I had my first baby naturally at home and we live far away from both of our families. I fully accredit my beautiful birthing experience to the confidence and support of my team. Beth was there when I needed her and magically faded away in the background when she wasn't. I am so grateful for her calm and comforting spirit. Somethings cannot be measured and that is how I view the support Beth gave my family before, during, and after the birth of our daughter.

Beth was reccomended to my husband and I from our Natural Child Birth Instructor. When we met with Beth we both felt absobulte peace and knew that she was the perfect fit. She truly is such a kind and selfless person and we both felt she went above and beyond. She was encourging every step of the way. I can honestly say if it wasn't for her by my side I probably would of ended up with a c section. She knowledgeable and made us feel like we were in good hands when we wern't sure what to do when we hit a few bumps in the road. I will have her by my side for every baby I have! I highly reccomended hiring Beth as your Doula.

Although my husband, Eric Little, already worte a review, I felt so positive about my experience with Beth that I had to write one myself.  I entered into this experience not sure if I would want the epidural or not but knowing that I wanted to do as many natural things throughout the process as possible.  Long story short, I ended up having a 100% natural birth with everythink on my birth plan!

Beth was so helpful and knowledgible and my husband and I were at ease having her there.  During our prenatal meetings, she provided us a notebook full of information including example birth plans and how to write a birth plan.  She also did a home labor rehersal showing us different positions/techniques.  These made us (and our 3 dogs!) very comfortable.

Beth inspired so much confidence in us, even when I doubted my own strength.  Her accupressure techniques were wonderful and teaching them to my husband allowed him to be confidently part of the process!

Beth kept me calm, confident and well hydrated!

My husband Rob and I felt comfortable immediately with Beth when she came to our house for our initial meeting. She is warm, helpful, knowledgeable and experienced. There was no question she would be our doula! When labor started she came first thing in the morning, ready to stay at our house for however long we needed her to. She was such a help just being there for us as labor progressed and she was great at reminding me how to relax and breathe!! Beth is a wonderful doula and person. Having children of her own, she is very motherly and calming which is what I wanted in a doula. We are so grateful she was available for us.

Beth was our doula for the birth of both of our children and I truly don't know what we would have done without her! My first experience with labor was long with my water breaking and our daughter not being born until 24 hours later. Beth was with us at the hospital the entire time and had tips and tricks to help both myself and my husband to relax. I've sometimes joked that she was hired more for him than for me! She knew how to help him help me, she listened to our requests, and she shared her vast amounts of knowledge with us to help us prepare for and survive the labor and delivery process! We felt comfortable because she did not push us to birth in any specific way and remained supportive even when I decided to get an epidural after many hours of labor.

My second labor experience was quite different from my first and Beth handled it just as gracefully. I labored at home for 4 hours before we called her at 5:00am. She arrived at our house by 6am and helped me at home until we left for the hospital a short while later. We arrived at the hospital around 7:30 and our son was born at 8:28! While it all happened very quickly, Beth was right there - helping my husband (who almost passed out!) while also supporting me as I had a quick, drug-free birth. When my husband followed the baby, Beth stayed by my side - holding my hand for all the fun procedures that happen post-birth.

It was such a peaceful feeling knowing that we had Beth to call throughout the pregnancy and as soon as labor started. She was calm, understanding, knowledgable, and loving. I am so glad that she was present for the birth of both of my children and I would absolutely recommend her.

Beth was wonderful to have around for my wifes first childbirth. While we both appreciated the advice she gave which allowed us to get an inside perspective on the pros and cons of the birth process my wife and I were preparing for, she also was invaluable during labor and delivery. The research my wife did when deciding our birth plan sometimes raised more questions and often gave us multiple options on the best plan with no clear answers on which direction to go. Beth was a good evaluator of personality. She was able thru only a few meetings to get a feel for our personal preferences and to be able to draw on her own research and experience to give us the options as well as pros and cons and what happens if we do nothing [and let nature do its thing]. She was able to help us make what we felt were the best decisions allowing us to stick to our birth plan more than we could have done on our own. There are so many different things that can come up during labor and birth that it put us both at ease having her there. The big thing that my wife really enjoyed was the different pushing positions that beth was able to give us to help in different situations. Also she was able to show us acupressure points that helped relieve pressure and pain during contractions which allowed my wife to stick to her plan and avoid any pain medications completely.

I was able to take more of a support role and my wife and I were able go to beth for her opinion and all we had to do is make the final decisions. Overall my wife and I were thrilled with Beth and our labor which went as smooth as we both could have expected!

My husband Allan and I hired Beth to support us in the birth of our first child. I believe this to have been one of the best decisions we have ever made. Although I had a very easy pregnancy physically, I was extremely anxious throughout and Beth was a constant source of support for me. I always looked forward to our meetings before the birth, and appreciated Beth checking in with me and answering my questions (I had a lot!) throughout my pregnancy. Although my birth did not go as planned as I had an induction which I had really hoped to avoid, Beth really helped to make what otherwise would have been a really difficult experience for me into a positive one. I was particularly grateful for the way in which Beth helped my husband to be really involved in our birth when he otherwise may not have known what to do to help. She suggested things for him to do to help me through labor, and thanks to her I have really wonderful memories of his love and support during that time. She also helped me cope with pain through accupressure and various other techniques, and had a great calming presence throughout the birth (one of the midwives at the hospital even commented that there was "good energy" in our birthing room which I attribute to Beth!) We feel so fortunate to have been able to work with Beth and hope to call upon her services again. Highly, highly recommended!

Beth was soooo good. I was having a stressful first birthing experience until we called her up! She arrived within 30 minutes of our phone call to her, which basically means she dropped whatever she was doing and left to come to the hospital. She was amazing at getting me to relax and dilate. My husband and I were so thankful for her presence there with us.

My husband and I recently welcomed our first baby this December and Beth was a godsend throught the labor and delivery process. Beth helped us through several false starts including a couple 2am panicked phone calls and she slept over when my contractions started and stopped. We had a natural birth at Sisters hospital on Beth's birthday depended heavily on her. I can honestly say that I would not have made it through the 22 hour labor process without her wisdom, support and encouragement.

We wholeheartedly recommend Beth and are deeply grateful to her for her guidance, her calming presence, assistance and personal attention that she gave us during my pregnancy, the birth of Lilia, and the days following delivery. Beth goes above and beyond and her care, kindness and friendship mean a lot to us. She also makes amazing all natural body products and her lactation bars are AMAZING!!!

My husband and I met Beth when I was 39 weeks pregnant with our second child, after having to relocate unexpectedly. I was uncomfortable because I did not have the time to develop a relationship with my new caregivers, and I felt like I needed someone else on our birth team who truly understood our beliefs and wishes. How lucky we were to find Beth. Beth was extraordinarily generous with her time and we were touched by how quickly she “got” us. Although we knew her for less than a week before labor began, she made sure we had two prenatal meetings—each time providing useful information and strengthening our confidence and belief that we could be in control of our birth experience.  When I went into labor, she was in touch with me via text message and phone and responded quickly whenever I reached out, no matter the time. I felt comfortable getting in touch with the slightest question and relieved that I had her knowledge, support, and good energy on my side. Her presence was invaluable during my labor and the birth of our baby girl. She came to my home as soon as I needed her. Her use of acupressure was almost magical—some of my contractions subsided before they even peaked. I give credit to the acupressure she used and taught my husband to use. Beth’s suggestions were all made in a gentle, non-pushy manner, and they were all helpful. For example, her suggestion of when to leave for the hospital was perfect, and moreover, it was presented in a way in which my husband and I felt no pressure. When I arrived I was 6 centimeters dilated and 10 minutes later I was 10 centimeters dilated. No time was wasted—she helped me labor at home for as long as possible, which was something I had really hoped for. Beth was meant to be a doula and we are so fortunate to have her as part of our baby’s birth story. We will be forever grateful.

Elizabeth was a wonderful doula. She provided ample training and preparation for birth at a reasonable cost. In the hospital, she was able to balance my wishes with my medical needs in a very professional manner. I enjoyed working with her so much and found it truly beneficial to have the assistance of a doula through all stages of the process.

Beth was my Doula for my third baby. I didn't have a doula for my first 2 and they were less than desirable labor and deliveries. I knew that I wanted to have an intervention free birth experience with #3 and I knew that without a Doula I would feel pressured to have an epidural from the hospital staff. Beth was amazingly supportive. She helped me through each phase of my labor. My baby was born drug free and the way I wanted because of my awesome doula!

Beth Carey was my doula for the births of my second and third children. Both of these births were wonderful, peaceful experiences!

Beth visited with me during my second pregnancy and supplied me with very helpful materials to read. These books on natural childbirth helped me to feel confident about my body's ability to give birth.

My labor took place almost entirely at home. I felt so peaceful and confident that I did not even realize that, by the time we were leaving for the hospital, I was already in transition! Good thing the hopsital was only 5 minutes away! Beth came to my home and drove my husband and me to the hospital. The whole way, she kept reassuring me with words of encouragement and comfort. I felt very calm and strong. I was in the hospital for less than two hours before my daughter was born.

I give Beth a lot of credit for the fact that my labor was so short and went so smoothly. She really prepared me beforehand, helping me to feel confident and relaxed. I think that this peaceful state of mind and body enabled my labor to progress quickly and smoothly. Though I had pain with the contractions, I had the mental strength to handle it.

I decided to hire Beth again when I was pregnant with my third child. This one surprised me by coming two weeks early, when my husband was out of town! Beth's presence was extremely helpful at this birth. I was much less prepared mentally, since the baby was early and I was distressed by my husband's absence.

Beth really helped me to manage my pain and anxiety, using accupressure and other comforting techniques. Again, my labor progressed quickly once the contractions started. I had another natural birth and healthy baby.

I was able to call Beth with questions about nursing and postpartum issues, and she always answered promptly. She also visited with me after my children were born, bringing healthy and delicious cookies.

Elizabeth was a great fit for me and my husband for our first birth experience.  Not knowing what we were going to encounter, but knowing we wanted a non-medicated birth, led us to choosing a doula.

When we met Beth we were immediately comfortable with her.  She was kind and honest and honored to be a part of our experience.  I kept her posted on my progress through the last month of my pregnancy, and she had her cell phone on her 24/7.  When the time came, she even beast me to the hospital!

Once I was in the hospital, I was going nowhere fast, but a sonogram that morning measured my son to be only 5 pounds, so the doctors were worried that something was wrong with the baby.  We had to wait almost 24 hours before my water was broken and the real labor began.  Beth never left.  She slept in the hall of the hospital so my husband could sleep in my room.  She also reassured me the whole time that my baby was fine.  Her confidence and support helped ease some of the worry.  She also helped to get a birthing ball in my room even though the nursing staff wasn't so obliging.  But Beth was persistent.

When I was in the final few hours Beth helped us stick to our plan.  Beth followed interpreted what we needed and followed suit.  She helped keep me comfortable, ran between the delivery room and the waiting room to keep our families informed, and helped support me when I was too exhausted to continue.

I had my son right at lunch time, and all I wanted was a turkey sub!  Beth went and bought my husband and I lunch so that my first meal would be what I wanted instead of the hospital food.  It was a very kind gesture.

Beth is a wonderful doula with a true compassion for what she does.  She is easy going and helpful.  She adjusts to your individual needs and gives unending support when you need it most.
