Kathy actually came in at the (relative) last minute for me as my doula’s backup doula and we hit it off right away. She helped me process a lot of my anxiety and fear around induction (I went 16 days overdue). I was at the hospital for two days waiting for labor to start in earnest. Kathy texted regularly to check in and offer her support. While she was there she stayed up all night helping me through labor and she just kept coming up with new ideas to try. The guided breathing was my favorite. And I can’t tell you how many times she helped me roll over and readjust the pillows. She also gave me a gorgeous labor comb that smells amazing. She worked so well with my husband. Labor stalled out and I couldn’t keep anything down, so I ended up electing for a cesarean. She wasn’t able to stay with us after that but kept checking in. And postpartum she helped me through my milk supply issues as I struggled to breastfeed. This is my first baby, and I felt like everything was going wrong, but Kathy was there every step of the way.

Kathie was absolutely crucial in having a successful non medicated home birth (and a VBAC). She offered physical and emotional support, wisdom, knowledge, and a peaceful and calm presence. We were beyond blessed by her presence at the birth of our baby boy. Leading up to the birth, she was a constant encourager and provided many resources to help us feel prepared for the birth. We absolutely loved having Kathie apart of our team and would 100% recommend her!

I couldn't be more happy with our doula! My wife and I had twins! First time parents too and let me tell you... the fears, the worries, the anxieties are all REAL. Mrs Phillips(my mom ok... haha) did such a fantastic job at answering all my questions, and I felt peace after each one. As a father, it was important to me that I had a say in things. I didnt want to be an ornament on the wall. Our doula made sure that I was included, and heard. The whole experience was wild,  and crazy, but thankfully we had the best doula on the planet!!!! You'd honestly have to be a total KOOK not to have a doula PERIOD. The knowledge and wisdom that comes from a person that has "been there, done that" is invaluable wisdom. Dont miss it. Peace, love and baby on.

I was referred to Kathie about 2 weeks before my baby was due. I had heard that she had helped maaany women with their labors and had amazing testimonials. So I reached and she gladly met with me and my husband to hear what our plan was for having our baby. My heart was to have a natural birth and I knew i needed support because I "dont have a high pain tolerance" but I had heard that its a different type of feeling than the "pain" we are used to. She told me to do all the research, to know exactly what the doctors would say, she gave me resources, and insight into having the best labor possible! Can you say LIFE SAVER. She showed up right on time as I and my husband had been texting her the day I went in to labor. She knew I was in the early stages and gave me tips on helping me relax like take a shower and see if that calmed the contractions down. WHen I got out the contractions were still there and "intensifying" so she told me everything to do to get ready to go to the hospital. She arrived and got right into it. She was able to help where my husband didnt know exactly what to do. When I needed to move postitions, she knew which would help in the stage I was in. When i needed pressure for the back labor-she was right there pressing on my hips-this was SO insanely helpful to have someone who just has amazing intiuition. I felt so comfortable with her, but I also knew that i needed to allow myself to be comfortable and be open with her about what I was feeling and what I needed and she stepped in, in the best ways. I cant express enough how helpful she was to both me and my husband stepping into the unknown. We felt SO safe with her. SO thankful for you Kathie!!!!

Kathie Phillips helped me during the birth of my first daughter during the summer of 2019. I had an induction at 41 weeks 5 days and started midday with an unfavorable cervix. After some mild induction methods we started pitocin and it really ramped up the labor process. Kathie grounded me and had me focus on my breathing when contractions got intense. She brought peace into a very tense and stressful labor. It’s so important for a doula to know when to be involved and when to give space. During my labor there were times I needed reassurance and times I needed to labor alone. She was incredibly encouraging and so supportive. She and my husband switched off rubbing my back during contractions. After 10 hours of hard contractions with little dilation I opted for an epidural so we could all get some rest. I was wanting to avoid it but she was there to support me and my birth however it looked. She was back the next morning and stayed by my side until delivery. She advocated for me and made sure I had everything I needed and wanted for my birth.
