Elle was more than we could have ever dreamed of in a postpartum doula. It felt like having a fairy god mother during one of the most delicate and vulnerable times of our lives. Many people want to help with baby, but her focus on mom was just as purposeful and helpful. The healing process can be long and hard and she did everything possible to make it as smooth and easy as possible. She's kind, knowledgeable and patient. By the end of our time together it was like saying goodbye to a friend who helped us out through the battle of the first few weeks of being new parents. Would 10/10 recommend her to anyone seeking a doula.

We had a fantastic experience with Elle from the moment we had our first call, to our final postpartum check in. Elle provided much needed reassurance and helpful tips leading up to delivery for both my husband and I; helping us feel a lot more prepared. She also helped me truly find my voice with medical professionals during delivery, something I am truly grateful for. Her ability to speak up and advocate for her clients is something that is so necessary in the birthing space! We felt cared for and heard by Elle, and are thankful for her guidance and expertise throughout pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum.

Elle is the type of person who walks into the room and immediately brings in a vibe of warmth and safety. She provides a natural level of comfort that makes you feel like you've been friends for years (which is great considering how personal things get with a doula).

Elle helped us become incredibly prepared for birth, she's a wealth of information and, having been through birth herself, comes with tons of personal experience and tips and tricks to help prepare both partners.

We feel so lucky that we got to work with Elle, she made herself always available and was quick to troubleshoot any problems (pre and post birth) and even helped inspire our labor playlist!

We definitely plan on hiring her next time around.

My husband and I took a newborn care class led by Elle at The Family Room center. She was very warm, knowledgeable, and reassuring. She welcomed all the couples questions and gave us the confidence to journey into parenthood to take care of our baby on the way. Loved that she is a mom, too! Her info was to the point and not overwhelming. Definitely would recommend her to families looking to take a class, and though we haven't used her as a doula - we could tell her knowledge and confident, calm demeanor would make her a great one. Thanks Elle!

We chatted with a few doulas before deciding to go with Elle. When we talked with her on the phone, we immediately picked up on the kind of energy we were hoping to bring into our birthing process. She was calmly wrangling her toddler without missing a beat talking to us, going through her history as a mother and a doula and exuding a confidence and calmness that was just what we were looking for. Our intuition was well-founded!

Throughout our months getting to know and working with Elle, she provided amazing support. She's a wealth of information without pushing anything, a source of peace and tranquility without sounding like a motivational poster, a strong advocate for her clients and whatever their needs are, and overall a certified Good Hang in our humble opinion. During the actual delivery - which ended up being very emergent - she kept us grounded and prepared through each twist and turn.

We're really not sure what we would've done without her, and feel so so lucky to have gotten the chance to work with her. We'd highly recommend her to anyone looking!

We interviewed several doulas and were so happy to have picked Elle. She is caring, attentive, and full of knowledge. Elle walked us through every single step of the birth/postpartum journey in great detail. She joined us at the hospital and was a strong advocate, providing comfort, advice and recommendations. Elle was quick to respond to our questions before, during, and after birth as well. We were lucky to have picked Elle. She is amazing and we would highly recommend her!

Elle was the most supportful doula I could imagine -- especially for my unmedicated, natural birth which was faced with a lot of pressure for refusing medical interventions.  I was several weeks past my due date and she was so considerate and reassuring about my off-and-on early labour and mindful of not bringing me any extra stress. Since I went over 42-weeks, my whole birth plan shifted and I had to go to a hospital rather than a birthing center. It was so beneficial to have Elle there through that issue, since she ended up being the only caretaker who stayed consistent in my birth team. 

Also, she did a great job of advocating for me in the hospital as much as possible. I had to stand in Triage for a long time, and she helped usher things along with the doctor so I could get to a room sooner. Also, she literally got down on the floor and helped me through my contractions in the awkward traige room, to help alleviate the pain I was having. It was so so helpful. 

And then, in the hospital room, she found ways to support me and be respectful of my space, even when I was in the shower in my own meditative/hypnobirhthing state. She set up my space with battery-lit candles, so it could be a nurturing environment. She got into positions that must've been awkward for her just to help me through contractions, and was able to see what I needed without me needing to communicate much through words - and just silently support me and help with my contractions while respecting my space. 

She also was great with managing doctors conflicting requests in the middle of labour, and also after the baby was born. 

I'm so grateful that I ended up having Elle at the birth and highly recommend her to all mommas-to-be. She truly has a love for supporting women through their births, has a lot of knowledge, and goes above and beyond to make a woman's birth as pleasant as possible. I highly, highly recommend!

Elle is truly amazing! We met her serendipitously through one of her classes at the Family Room and loved her so much that we decided to work with her, despite never considering having a doula. We knew we were having a planned C-section and found so much value in working with Elle. She helped advocate for us to have the ideal C-section, including ensuring that we got to spend the golden hour doing skin to skin and nursing. Elle is so knowledgeable and experienced --but most importantly, she is beyond encouraging and supportive. We can't imagine our birth story without her. Thank you for everything, Elle. We love you!

I can not reccommend Elle enough, she was my rock, my voice, my peace of mind.  Leading up to my birthing time Elle was always there to answer any questions my husband and I had and she provided education information that we wouldn't have known othwise.  There is so much information out there, it was comforting to know we had what we needed to be prepared.  Elle spent a whopping 40 hours with us through my birthing time! She was there for me in ways my husband couldn't be.  That said, she was also there to support my husband. I can't express how greatful I am to have had Elle by my side.  She navigated our time in the hospital wonderfully.  She was also there post birth, helping and answeing questions. Elle was the perfect balance for me and my husband: hollistic but practical.

Elle was amazing. I returned to work fairly quickly after giving birth and she was so supportive and patient with me and my family's needs. I'm a second time mom and it was so helpful to go through the first few weeks after brith with someone who actually knows what they are doing! I only wish I had her with my first.

Elle is a godsend. As first time parents, we were totally overwhelmed, and Elle is so knowledgeable and easy to talk to. As just one example, the same day I ended up going into the hospital to give birth, I went in the morning because I wasn't sure if I was in labor or not. The nurses, midwife and doctor had nothing useful to say except that they wanted to do a cervical exam to check me to see if I was in labor. They pushed really hard for it and made me sign out AMA when I declined. Elle, by contrast, accurately predicted - over text - that I would be going to the hospital later that evening to give birth. Thanks to her advice, I was able to run some errands, not focus on being in labor, and stay out of the hospital for another 8-10 hours. I ended up going in when I was 7.5 cm dilated thanks to her advice, and then when I was actually there she did a great job communicating my birth plan and preferences to the care team when I was unable to focus. She also was able to help me relieve a lot of the pain of the contractions while I was waiting for the epidural - which, btw, takes FOREVER, so don't wait until you're 7.5 cm dilated if you want one! Even though my husband was also there and wanted to help, in the moment it was just too much to remember and process, so having an experienced person there with me whose whole purpose was to advocate for me was just a lifesaver. She also gave incredible advice after the birth during our postpartum visit and was just incredibly helpful on so many fronts, including with great referrals to other professionals. You won't regret hiring Elle!!

Elle is an amazing doula and person. From the moment I met her, I could tell she was knowledgeable, confident, patient and kind. I was a little late in getting a doula during my pregnancy (i.e. 36 weeks into my first pregnancy already) but once I connected with her, I knew I wanted her to be there to assist my husband and me. She supported me through every aspect of my final month of pregnancy and birth from the time we told her we were at the hospital because my water broke through supporting me for hours post-birth. She provided me with education, resources and round the clock support. Through all of my labor, she was there to communicate and advocate for me which I truly appreciated. There is so much going on during labor that half the time I did not necessarily know what was happening until Elle explained it. When birthing time came, she was such a calming, reassuring, and supportive presence that eased my fears. She was my cheerleader, advocate, and teacher. She supported my husband and I through all of labor and delivery and celebrated with us during the birth of our daughter. She took memorable pictures of us, brought us food to keep us sustained, and talked us through each stage of L&D. We are so grateful to Elle for all that she has done for us through the course of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I cannot imagine getting through this journey without her and am so thankful she was with us every step of the way! I cannot recommend her enough!

She is an amazing doula and I feel very fortunate to have been able to count on her support. She is always available to answer your questions, supports you emotionally, gives you peace of mind and guides you. Every time I needed her she was always there. I didn't know anything about pregnancy, it was my first baby and she helped me a lot by giving me a lot of information and advice, I had so many questions and she answered them with love, each one of them. When it was my delivery, I really thank God that she was there, she did not rest for a minute, she helped me at all times so that I dilated quickly, you may laugh but we started dancing bachata and in less than three hours I went from 3 to 9 hours dilation, the doctors were amazed, today I can say that I had a wonderful birth, besides she worked very hard hand in hand with the doctors. She is truly amazing. You who are reading this review do not hesitate for a second to have her as a doula. She will be your support and your friend.
