Welcome! My name is Sarah, and I am a birth doula serving Southern Connecticut and all of Rhode Island. I am a military spouse, mother to three boys, animal lover and a wannabe homesteader. I believe everyone deserves to feel supported and empowered during their birth journey. I am DONA certified with a bachelor’s in science and master’s degree in education. My doula philosophy is centered on support for mom before, during, and after birth, while offering evidence-based advice. I always aim to understand what my client’s desire is for their birth experience and to provide the education, resources, and help to assist achieving a calm but confident experience in the birthing room. It would be my privilege to be able to support you during your birth.

I can not say enough good things about Sarah. We're a military family that PCSed to the area about a month before I was to deliver my second child. As a fellow military spouse, she understood a lot of the challenges I was facing. Being new to the area and my husband in training, I wasn't sure what kind of support I was going to have so I reached out and was matched with Sarah. She instantly made me feel like we had known each other for years and was such a wealth of information. I felt very informed, supported and prepared. During labor, she made the whole room feel calmer, she kept me hydrated, and helped encourage position changes. I had an amazing birth experience and felt so empowered thanks to Sarah. Her postpartum check-ins have been the extra support I didn't know I needed. Yummy healing foods and extra attention for my first kiddo have just made this whole life change even better. I'm so thankful Sarah came into my life and I only hope others get the opportunity to work with her too!

When I first became pregnant with our daughter in May of 2023 I had no clue what my birth plan would be or any of the prep work that goes into planning for labor and delivery. Sarah helped my husband and I create a birth plan that worked for us. She provided education and resources so I could be informed and make decisions about the type of birth I wanted. She answered all of my questions never making me feel like any issue was too small or insignificant to talk over. Having her there really helped to ease any anxieties I had as a first time mom. She's clearly passionate about what she does and I could wait to talk over birth stories or birthing positions with her, because she shares your excitement in the experience. She helped us to feel like we had the tools we needed going into an unmedicated birth. Her education background was evident in that she always presented current evidence based research to help guide me though any decisions that had to be made. She’s non-judgmental and caring and provides support to make you feel like you’re making the best decision for you and your family. She has a wealth of knowledge and resources that helped me through any issues that arose like SI pain, or when baby was briefly transverse. When my daughter’s birth date came I felt so prepared through my work with Sarah. I was lucky enough to have my birth go exactly to plan. With all my research and the confidence I gained through working with Sarah I coped with labor at home and made it to the hospital for only two hours of active labor. I had the unmedicated labor and delivery I wanted and a beautiful happy baby girl. Sarah helped me feel calm in a fast labor and to advocate for my needs when things were feeling chaotic. Pregnancy and birth are life altering experiences and everyone deserves to feel safe, empowered, and informed. With the support of Sarah’s doula services that was possible and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with her again.
