Post a testimonial for Abrianna Canady

I hired Abrianna for my labor and delivery support and I can say hiring her was probably the best thing I had decided to do. My delivery occurred 1 week earlier than planned induction. Abrianna made sure, and made herself available to my needs during my extended labor, and was there for me throughout. She made sure of every little and big need of mine, and stood as my advocate throughout the entire process. She also made sure, that I was eating, was hydrated, and made vegan soup for me when I was on Clear diet while on epidural support. She then also made a visit with me post partum, did some lactation guidance, and brought home made carrot soup for me along with bunch of lactation goodies. She understood my needs through the entire time she was with me, and followed upon me even when our time was done. She adds her personal touch to this entire experience. I highly recommend all to hire Abrianna as a doula, as this is such an intimate experience, where our family members may not be able to see us in such vulnerable state, and doulas like Abrianna make the experience slightly more manageble.

Abrianna is a fantastic doula. She was always available to answer questions and to talk about the birth plan. In the leadup to the birth, we had regular meetings with her to discuss things that my wife and I hadn't even considered. She got us prepared and organized so we would be ready.
When my wife was in labor and things were progressing quickly, Abrianna joined us promptly. When we had to quickly change our plans on the fly, Abrianna was adaptable and helpful in figuring out logistics. The birth took a very long time and she was there the whole way through, never complaining, always supporting us and seeing if we needed anything.
Abrianna was an important part of the birth of my son and a part of our family history forever. I have already recommended her to multiple people at work and we would certainly use her again for our second child.

Abrianna came into our lives during an incredibly difficult time. Our infant daughter was only weeks old and I had suffered a traumatic spine injury, leaving me in extreme pain and unable to perform many basic functions of life, including holding and feeding my daughter. It was a time of great pain, emotionally and physically, and Abrianna brought warmth, confidence, and expert care into our home at a time when we needed it most. I feel so grateful to have had her in our lives.

Abrianna was my doula for the birth of my first child. As as a first time mom to be, I had learned that a lot was needed to support women during pregnancy and prepare for birth. Abrianna was so gentle and kind to both my husband and I and did everything she could to educate us on how to cope during labor and birth. So much so that when we went to a childbirth class, a lot of the tactics for pain management we had already learned from Abrianna. She takes the time to ask what you are comfortable with and she genuinely tries to get to know you as a person and also as a couple as the birth experience can be so emotional and vulnerable, and she was there with us every step of the way. Supportive is an understatement, kind is not descriptive enough to portray how she was with us every second for my 36 hour labor. In the end, I had pushed for 5 hours and had no perineal tears due to my preparation and techniques Abrianna had taught me and I was filled with immense gratitude, joy, and togetherness for having Abrianna by our side for the beautiful birth of our son.

I can't recommend Abrianna enough! She was a joy to work with and her calm confidence and kindness made my husband and I feel much more positive going into labor. She continually checked in with us throughout the pregnancy and not only provided resources, books, video links, and birth techniques for me and my husband, but she was always responsive, thorough and thoughtful regarding any random question or concern I had throughout my entire pregnancy. She is an avid birth researcher and it is clear that she truly loves being a doula! Abrianna's home visits made my husband and I feel more empowered and prepared for birth, even though our birth did not go according to plan! Abrianna was flexible, supportive, and so caring throughout the process. She taught us breathing and meditation techniques, as well as provided a comprehensive workbook for my husband and I to fill out so we could stay focused and organized throughout the pregnancy, as well as discuss labor and postpartum plans. During labor, Abrianna was present, loving, and helpful throughout. Having her in the delivery room gave me peace of mind that I wouldn't be pressured into any suggestions from doctors or staff. She suggested various position changes in between contractions, and created a beautiful and calm atmosphere with electronic candles and peppermint diffusers. My husband utilized the counter-pressure techniques she taught us, which made me feel so supported during some of my more painful contractions. She took photos of the labor and birth, and captured some of the most intense and beautiful moments that my husband and I have ever experienced. I am forever grateful to have those rare moments captured on camera! After birth, she visited us for a postpartum check up and brought the most delicious and nutritious home-cooked meal and homemade soap and lotion! Abrianna truly went above and beyond each step of the way during my pregnancy and post-partum journey and I can't recommend her enough!
