As someone with a family history of postpartum depression and anxiety, I knew I wanted as much support as possible during this major life transition. When I started thinking about having kids, one thing was clear: I wanted someone to care for me, too—not just the baby. That’s what led me to hire Ellen as our postpartum doula. And after meeting her, I quickly realized I wanted her by my side for the birth as well.

At the hospital, Ellen was a calm and steady presence. She advocated for me when I needed it most and made sure my voice was heard and my best interests were protected. She helped me feel grounded, supported, and safe in a moment that could have easily felt overwhelming.

In the weeks that followed, Ellen was there every step of the way—overnights, daytime visits, and everything in between. She helped with cooking, laundry, lactation and pumping support, and a million little things that made those early days more manageable. More than anything, she helped me feel held during one of the most vulnerable seasons of my life.

Ellen went above and beyond in August as my doula. I had a traumatic emergency C-section with my second baby, so for this baby I knew I wanted a doula to help guide and assist me in trying to have a successful VBAC. From start to finish ellen was amazing. She is very knowledgeable and warm. She made me feel very comfortable with all my decisions and was the best advocate for me. She devised the perfect birth plan for my wishes. She came over and showed me exercises for sciatica, and also let me know certain strategies for preparing for labor. When I went into labor, she was there right away. I can truly say I don't believe I would have had the perfect successful VBAC without her. Her knowledge is unmatched. She advocated for me when my IV was misplaced and hurting, when they were trying to convince me into a repeat C-section and so much more. She helped me with exercises during labor to get baby into position, and was there every step of the way. She was encouraging, and a friend throughout the whole process.  I will forever be thankful for everything Ellen did for me as my doula and couldn't recommend her more. She's the best of the best!

I cannot recommend Ellen from Parenting Touch enough! From start to finish, she was absolutely amazing. Ellen was incredibly communicative, always checking in on me after each doctor’s appointment and making sure I felt informed and confident in my choices. As someone who was determined to have a completely unmedicated birth, Ellen made it her mission to help me feel empowered and ready to accomplish that goal.

She met with us early in pregnancy, spent time getting to know our wishes, and helped us refine our birth plan over multiple revisions to ensure it was exactly what we wanted. She also provided us with resources and practical tips, including guidance on how to naturally induce labor as I neared 40 weeks.

During labor and delivery, Ellen was a constant source of support and positivity. She was there for every step, providing encouragement, helping me stay focused, and just being an amazing presence in the room. After birth, Ellen didn’t just leave us to fend for ourselves – she stayed with us in the hospital until we felt comfortable, and continued checking in to ensure both baby and I were doing well. Even now, a month later, she still reaches out to see how I'm healing and how my baby is growing.

If you're looking for a doula who goes above and beyond, Ellen is the one you need. She truly made this experience so much more positive and reassuring, and I will forever be grateful for her support!

Ellen is amazing as a birth doula!  I wanted to be fully present for every moment of the birthing process, and she ensured that I had a smooth unmedicated birth for my first baby like I had always wanted!  My husband and I were so glad to have Ellen with us throughout the birth-prep, delivery as the second support person at the hospital, and all the way to postpartum.  My baby ended up coming 2 weeks early and had a pretty quick labor; Ellen responded right away and was at the hospital before we even got there!  She was also so helpful for the postpartum period, from lactation advice to newborn care, especially since we did not have family around to help us out.  We were so grateful that Ellen was part of these special moments, of us going from just a couple to becoming a family.

I truly don’t have enough words to express how grateful I am for the support I received from Helen throughout the end of my pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journey. She was absolutely life-saving — caring, compassionate, and incredibly present every step of the way.

From the moment we started working together, I felt seen, heard, and held. She was always available, responsive, and quick to reply to my questions and concerns, no matter how big or small. Her knowledge and experience were so reassuring, and she helped me navigate each stage of the process with confidence.

During labor, she stayed with me at the hospital for over 24 hours — fully present, calm, and supportive. She not only provided emotional and physical support but also helped me understand what was happening at every moment. My husband and I are grateful for Ellen's support throughout my pregnancy, birth of our baby, and beyond. From the very beginning, Ellen was not only kind, curious, and helpful, but also passionate and knowledgeable. She took the time to understand my goals and vision and provided tools, advice, and encouragement, ensuring we felt confident and supported.

Ellen cared for our son several nights a week during his first two months as an overnight nurse. She is incredibly kind and nurturing, and our baby adored her. Ellen was always punctual, no matter the circumstances, including extreme weather. She quickly became an essential part of our nightly routine, and nothing brought me more comfort than knowing she was there, providing our baby with so much love and care.

Ellen was my doula and I can’t say enough good things about her! She is the most caring and knowledgeable person to take care of you. She was always available to answer mine and husband’s questions/phone calls, always providing information for each stage of my pregnancy. Every time I had a question/concern I would reach her first and she would quickly respond. She made my pregnancy and labor way smoother. She provided all the info I needed about diet, exercises, ways to feel comfortable or less stress during labor, explaining detailed all the options I had and each moment of labor what was coming next. I felt secure and comfortable in all the moments because of her.

Hiring Ellen as a night doula was the best decision I made for my postpartum recovery. From our initial interaction over the phone to meeting in person our communication was always pleasant and seamless. I instantly felt comfortable and confident that Ellen would be a perfect fit to help with my newborn. Ellen continued to stay in contact during my pregnancy and provided support. When the baby was born Ellen was always early and prompt at our home. Ellen was very warm and loving with the baby and respected any plans and directions I provided. It put me at ease to know my new born baby was being well taken care of while I was able to rest and recover at nights.

Ellen is oustanding and we would 1000% recommend her. I had a really difficult delivery and Ellen’s services were gifted to us by some friends. We loved her so much we extended for another 2 months. She was professional, thoughtful, and incredibly caring with our newborn. She went above and beyond in offering us great advice, support, and helping us navigate a challenging first couple of weeks.
