I greatly and highly recommend Siobhan as a companion, partner and guide on the pregnancy and birthing journey. She is a full and wise being, with a deep reverence and honoring of the sacred feminine. She will bring you both the comfort of her wisdom, and the fierceness of her strength, both of which are essential during labor. Siobhan accompanied me emotionally and physically, prepared me mentally for what was to come, and was a woman I leaned on. She can work with the very practical, mundane aspects of pregnancy and childbirth, and the spiritual cosmic elements as well, as all are present during this intense and sacred time. I am grateful for her time with me and my little one.

Having Siobhan as a doula was one of the best decisions I have ever made. After 30 hours of labor, it was midnight (again) and after checking, my midwife said i was still only dialated 3cm. They told me to try to get some rest and headed home. I kinda panicked, and Siobhan told me we were in this together. She stayed with me, while sending my husband for a much needed nap, and we turned off the lights, lit some candles, and she was there with me, during a wild transition. Her grounding presence was a gift. We rocked back and forth while i laughed and cried and when it was time to call the midwife again, she brought back my husband and they all supported me through the final hours of my at-home unmedicated birth. It was by far the most transcendental and joyful experience I’ve ever had. I am so thankful I had Siobhan.

Siobhan was my doula for my first and only birth.  She met with me many times when I was pregnant, to offer support and let me know what to expect during the birthing process.  I chose to give birth at Kaiser Redwood City Hospital.  The hospital did not push me to get a C section and gave me lots of choice and and freedoms for my birthing process.  Siobhan was very helpful in guiding me through labor and birth which lasted 16 hours.  I was so grateful to have her there as my husband needed to take breaks.  She was very calm and reassuring.  I remember specifically that my baby's heartbeat dropped and all these doctors and nurses came rushing into the room.  It was frightening at first but then Siobhan reassured me that its a normal part of the birth process in both home and hospital births and I immediately felt calmer and safe.  Siobhan is a mother of two children and has guided many women through birth.  I highly recommend her as a doula.
