We searched out for a doula to help us with our goal of having a VBAC and found Elizabeth randomly. I truly believe that she was the perfect doula for us. She helped during the pregnancy by being a sound board for all of our thoughts and fears. She was our go to person with any questions we had or when we were having trouble with our doctors and needed to be assured in our decesions. She encouraged me to not give in to my doctor's wants of an induction and to instead listen to my body. And sure enough two days before my due date, my water broke. Things slowed down at the hostipal resulting in a 45 hour labor. Elizabeth was by my side the entire time, fighting through her own sleep deprivation. She was applying counter pressure, suggesting different positions to help baby move down and encouraging my husband to take much needed breaks. She also helped to inform us on different hostipal policies and procedures so that we could make informed decesions about our care at the hostipal. She truly was such an integral part of my labor and I'm not sure if I would of had a successful VBAC without her.
Elizabeth sacafriced so much of her own time and energy to make sure that we were well supported during my pregnancy, labor and postpartum. We could tell how much she has a heart in being a doula and helping families. We were very grateful to have Elizabeth in our lives during this time.

My husband and I knew we wanted extra support and education with becoming first time parents. Elizabeth was just our right doula! She helped us prepare for labor and birth through videos, in person preparation, and checking in with us throughout pregnancy. With Elizabeth's knowledge, support, and compassion, I was able to give a natural, un-medicated and intervention free, birth to our son!

After a very traumatic first birth that ended in an emergency c-section, we asked Elizabeth to be our doula. Our goal was to have a successful vbac! Elizabeth helped us during pregnancy with stretches that helped with baby positioning, with diet so my body was ready for the big day, and any questions I had. I was two days away from a scheduled c-section and scared but was finally accepting to the fact that was likely the outcome. After my last prenatal appointment at 39+3 Elizabeth advised to some curb walking and pumping (after it being okayed by my provider). That did the trick, at 39+5 I was in active labor and on my way to the hospital with Elizabeth on the phone. Once I was admitted she headed to the hospital. Things were progressing quickly we weren't sure she would make it. Once it was go time Elizabeth reassured me everything was going to be okay. Remember I had never done this before, she gave me tips on how to push, positions to lay, and just overall encouragement. Elizabeth was able to photograph during delivery to catch some of my greatest moments through the whole thing. When I was scared she walked me through what was happening and allowed me to relax. We welcomed our baby into the world with a successful vbac in the books! Elizabeth also met with me postpartum and gave advise on what was normal and not normal. I knew I could pick up the phone and ask her anything at anytime throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My spouse and I still talk about how great of an experience we had this time around almost 4 months later. We couldn't have done it without Elizabeth by our side.
