Giulia was our doula for the birth of our second child! My entire labor was 2 hours and 45 minutes and somehow Giulia still managed to be there. She made sure I was okay, and stayed after my birth until she knew my husband and I were settled. She also visited us in our home afterwards to make sure we were adjusting well to our new baby girl. Giulia was an awesome match for us and fantastic doula!

I still get emotional when I think about the day my daughter was born. It was a moment of immense joy, but also full of insecurities, fears, and uncertainties. And in the middle of it all, having Giulia, our doula, by our side was one of the greatest gifts we could have received.

From our prenatal meetings, she already made a big difference. She patiently and kindly taught us how to hold our newborn, how to bathe her… My husband was very nervous about handling a tiny baby, and after that session, he felt so much more confident — all thanks to her calm guidance.

Although my original plan was to have a vaginal birth, I ended up needing a scheduled c-section due to the baby’s position. Even so, Giulia’s presence was essential. I was really nervous at the beginning of the surgery, and she was absolutely wonderful — calming me down, helping me feel safe, and staying right by my side in the OR the entire time.

Having a Brazilian doula who could speak my language and truly understand me made all the difference. In such a vulnerable and emotional moment, being able to express myself freely and feel understood without needing to explain too much was deeply comforting. It felt like having a close friend there — someone who just got me.

Giulia was more than just a doula. She was warmth. She was strength. She was presence. And in such a transformative moment in life, that means everything.

I am forever grateful for the care and love she gave us. I wholeheartedly recommend her — every woman deserves to experience birth with this kind of support, respect, and compassion.

Giulia was our birth doula for our daughter's delivery at Lions Gate hospital, as well as our night nanny, 3 nights per week for the first 4 months. Giulia was very professional and knowledgeable about infants. She handled our newborn with confidence and care and was always available to talk through different situations that arose regarding feeding, creams when our baby developed eczema, and more. Giulia made every effort to understand and support our preferences regarding our baby's routine. At night time, she did perfect swaddles that our baby loved, she was always sure to burp her before putting her back to bed and she settled her with ease. With Giulia's help, our baby happily self-settles and was waking up once a night by the time she was 4 months old, which helped everyone get as good a night's sleep as possible. I highly recommend Giulia for anyone looking for a birth doula or night nanny.

We’re so grateful for our time with Giulia. From labour and delivery through the early postpartum weeks, she was a reassuring presence who helped us navigate everything with more confidence and calm.

During our birth, she was incredibly supportive — offering encouragement, comfort techniques, and helping us feel at ease. It made all the difference and we look back at the experience so positively. 

In the weeks after, her support was just as meaningful. She helped reassure us during difficult days,  answered all our questions, and provided the kind of emotional support that’s hard to put into words. Whether we needed help with feeding, rest, or just reassurance that we were doing okay, she was there in a caring and non-judgmental way.

Looking back, having her with us made our entire experience feel more manageable and supported. We’re really thankful we chose to work with her, and would absolutely recommend her to anyone preparing for birth and those early weeks with a newborn.

I cannot begin to describe how happy I am to have chosen Guilia as my doula. It was my first birth, and my labour was around 48 hours long, when I say she didn't leave my side for a second, I mean it.

Somehow even with it being that long, her presence  managed to help so much in making it special for my husband and I. She supported me through the whole thing, mentally, physically and emotionally. I will forever be so grateful.

Giulia was fantastic through the whole experience, helping us follow our birth plan to a tee. She was an amazing support and provided great advice and information post partum as well. My birth experience was positive, calm and empowering thanks to her being a part of the team. My husband was able to catch our baby and cut the cord, an amazing highlight that I am not sure we would have had the confidence to do without Giulia.

I reached out to Brood since it's just the two of us, my husband and I. We were expecting and we were traveling in uncharted territories. I knew we could master all the physical aspects of giving birth and taking care of the baby, but I felt that we needed that extra support when it came to taking care of ourselves as well. 
First, having a doula while giving birth is something I would recommend to anyone! And not just any doula, GIULIA!! Through the Brood Care matchmaking process we saw a video of Giulia, and she just spoke to us. The calmness in her voice and the reassuring note in her statements were what we sought in our support system. 

We did not make a mistake. First, she accompanied us in this incredible story of bringing a new life to the world, by supporting me, helping me remember to breathe, and holding my hand in a manner that was not annoying at all, but comforting and reassuring. She was actively listening to me and turned out to be the best support at the most critical part of my labor and delivery process, by commanding the attention of the medical workers and advocating for my wellbeing.

Postpartum care felt like my sister was there to give out neat tips and tricks. Giving us enough space to try and err, while gently guiding us was the best approach we could ask for, and we saw our baby thriving in it. And, as I mentioned, helping me remember that I still exist and not everything is as important as it is in my head which proved wonderful to make me feel like a human and remove that burden of mom's guilt. 
Having this kind of safety cushion in your late pregnancy and throughout the process of giving birth and getting a hang of the baby's needs lets you sleep at night knowing everything is going to be ok. And new mamas need their sleep!

Working with Giulia as our doula was an absolute blessing during the birth of our first baby. From the moment we met her, Giulia's warmth and knowledge reassured us that we were in capable hands.

Our birth plan took unexpected turns with an early membranes rupture and a lengthy 55-hour labor, including LOTS of waiting before ultimately being induced. Giulia remained a constant pillar of support throughout, helping us navigate every challenge with grace and expertise. Her presence not only eased our anxieties but also empowered us to embrace the experience positively.

Thanks to Giulia, we were able to cherish a birth journey that, despite its unpredictability, became an incredibly positive and enjoyable memory. We are deeply grateful for Giulia's invaluable support and couldn't recommend her more highly as a doula.

Giulia was amazing for our postpartum needs. I have 7 month old twin girls and she helped to feed them, play with them, put them down for naps and generally just help me stay organized so I could have a few moments of "me" time. I never had to ask her to do anything, she always took the initiative and made sure everything was perfect. She was so caring and gentle with the girls, they loved her!  She was also very flexible with scheduling which was so helpful. Highly recommend her!!

Hello!

Giulia came to us in an emergency situation and I couldn't have been more grateful and satisfied with her support. We clicked right away, she was and still is very supportive and positive, and has a way with newborns that's earned her the title of "baby whisperer" in my view.

I've had the pleasure of working with Giulia twice now since my birth story wasn't as expected. Even inbetween overnight support, she has reached out checking in on me and baby.

As first time parents recovering from a C-section, we had it rough! Giulia was truly heaven sent. She did everything and anything to help us settle to our new roles as parents. She has a calming presence thats so nice to be around especially when things become a bit hectic with a newborn. We learned so much about baby care, breastfeeding and general postpartum general wellness. Don't hesitate, Giulia is the best!

Guilia was excellent!  The induction journey I went on took a full week, but she was there to coach me with advice and support the whole time.  On delivery day, she was helpful without interfering with the midwife or eventual OB we needed.  She is also a lovely person with a calming presence.  Highly recommend!

Throughout my pregnancy, Giulia provided information that was fundamental to educate me and my husband about the process. As first time parents, it was essential to prepare us to the labour and the postpartum, as well.
Giulia’s empathy, knowledge and techniques applied were crucial to my comfort and empowerment during the birth. During the postpartum visit, Giulia assessed the breastfeeding, guided us through the first months, and helped us hands-on with our little one.
Hiring Giulia as my doula was definitely one of the best decisions I had towards my pregnancy, and fundamental to my mental and physical health.
