My family had the pleasure of hiring mrs amy to be our doula in July 2023 . I was 7-8 month pregnant already and I know what your thinking "why did u wait so long"!! Well like many other women I had questions like how could a doula benefit me?? What is a doula ? Where do I find a doula? Would my doula support my birth plans of wanting to Vbac? That's when a friend of mine found Amy and sent me her information. I didn't tell my husband I was reaching out to a doula because I know he would ask me all the questions and I didn't have the answers but when we first met with Amy it was like the star's aligned that night or something because we felt that she was a perfect fit for our crazy family!
we spoke about me wanting a vaginal delivery after a C-section , we talked about some scary birth experiences I've had and we also talked about fears my partner had . 
she answered our questions with kindness and honesty. My birth experience was a whirlwind I decided to go in for a scheduled C-section because my body was weak and tired and in pain and while we waited for my dr my water broke my daughter was breech so I did end up with a C-section but it was peaceful . Amy offered us some postpartum care and at first I'm thinking my house is a mess , my kids are chaotic and idk what we have in the fridge but she came in asked how she could help me and helped me with breastfeeding tips , making dinner , light housework and child care so I could shower ?? . I was truly amazed that postpartum doula care was even an option , she made sure I was doing ok mentally and if I wasn't she continued to offer support and resources. My family and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to have Amy as our doula .
