Karen was my birth doula for my May 10 baby and I cannot recommend her enough! I had a long induction and her support throughout was invaluable to me. She was a reliable & amazing resource to have throughout my pregnancy - she is very well researched and always provided me with evidence-based information. She took time to fully understand all my questions and made sure to fully answer them, at times even doing additional research! She has a ton of resources under her belt that she shared with me for any questions I had, like podcasts, articles, books, etc. You can tell she is truly passionate about birth.
During labor, she provided the exact type of support I needed - emotional and physical! She was an amazing advocate for me and supported all my decisions, including my choice to get an epidural and get induced. No judgement whatsoever. She’s also familiar with a ton of movements and positions that she used to help my water break naturally and get baby into a better position for pushing!
Pushing was IMO the hardest part of my labor and Karen honestly got me through it and helped me process it after birth in our postpartum follow-up.
All this to say, Karen is amazing at what she does and a great person in general! I would recommend her to anyone and wouldn’t hesitate to hire her again if I ever have another baby.

I worked with Karen during my second pregnancy, and I'm so glad I did.
Karen is refreshingly honest, informed, empathetic, and just downright helpful. I found this to be the case across my pregnancy, during labor, and in the days following my delivery.
During pregnancy, Karen answered all my questions and helped me find comfort during what was an incredibly uncomfortable couple of months. She guided me through lightning crotch (yes, a real thing), Braxton Hicks contractions, back pain, and "false" labor.
During labor, Karen helped me find ease during my (very painful) contractions, and taught my partner techniques he could use to help relieve my pain.
Post-partum, Karen helped me sort through the emotional trauma of an unexpected c-section, and even delivered the world's most thoughtful care package -- filled with items I actually needed to recover.
Through it all, Karen showed her human side. She distilled complicated things down into ways that were easy to understand. She brought a sense of humor when appropriate, and a directness that I found refreshing and helpful.
I highly recommend Karen as a doola.
