Hiring Sophia as my doula was one of the best decisions I made for my pregnancy! With my first baby, I wanted to go unmedicated but struggled through a very long, high intervention induction. I knew I didn't want that experience again and wanted more support. Sophia helped support me throughout a "high risk" pregnancy, and as a direct result I ended up having everything I wanted for my second birth!

During pregnancy, Sophia

-regularly checked in

-talked me through my first birth, listening to my hurts and fears and helping me process that to be prepared for my 2nd birth

-Sat down with me to get all of my wishes and desires written into my birth plan

-helped me research several topics so I could be informed at my doctor's appointments and offered to go to any appointment with me

-supported me when I was very emotional about a gestational diabetes diagnosis

-genuinely supported my choices and helped me feel confident in them

-helped me find resources to get my baby head down when she was still breech at 34 weeks, including recommending an amazing chiropractor

During labor she helped calm me, hydrate me, encouraged me to ask more questions, get me in different positions, and was completely focused on me and my needs.

I had many ups and downs and things working against me and my desire for an unmedicated birth, and I can honestly say I wouldn't have been able to get past them all without Sophia. She is the sweetest, most caring and kind woman ever. She really listens to you and your needs, and does everything she can to meet you where you need it. She truly has a heart for motherhood and to serve women in their most emotionally and physically vulnerable times. Having someone trustworthy and caring like Sophia is makes the world of difference during pregnancy! I dont have enough good things to say about her! I would have another baby just so she could be my doula again.

As a third time birther you'd think I would know what to expect and wouldn't want/ need a doula. You'd be WRONG. This was my 1st experience having a dedicated helper for just me and my needs.
Sophia is amazing!
She helps you get comfortable with all the what if's. She makes sure your birth plan is exactly what your looking for and you know all the options you actually have.
She's with you all the way. She goes over basic info on whether you want the vaccines, what positions you might want to try to birth in, and statistics for options your doctor may be discussing with you such as epidurals and inductions and c sections.
She had several visits with us about what to expect in all sorts of situations and what we were expecting of her.

She was on call for us starting about a month before our due date and was very good about checking in with us and making sure our needs were gettin met with any questions or concerns we were having.

Once it was go time for us she was there with in the hour and made sure all the staff was on board with our birth plan (that I forgot about and she brought), rubbed my legs and feet with essential oils to relax me, brought little twinkling lights to help keep the lights low and a little fan that I would have never thought about but was EXTREMELY needed during my ring of fire time.
Sophia was magnificent at communicating with us and the staff about what we wanted to occur for this emotional event.

She gets my vote and recommendation for the best birth advocate and support help. Her skill set is ever growing and her drive to honestly HELP you get the experience you want is uncemented.

If you're on the fence about birth help I'd go ahead and get the doula, Sophia the Great!

Hands down the best decision I made during my pregnancy was hiring Sophia as our doula! The education, empowerment, and emotional support that she provided was invaluable. She had such a great way of connecting with each person involved in our birth and thinks of everything to be the best support person.

After having such a great experience with her as our birth doula (even hospital staff mentioned how amazing she was), we knew we needed her as our postpartum doula and trusted her 100% with our newborn.

Just a few of the things she helped with: birth plan, pain management techniques, positions for labor, breathing techniques, breastfeeding support, post partum night shifts (can't say enough how impactful it was getting sleep in those early days) and keeping me fed! The emotional support through it all was truly the greatest gift. Sophia went above and beyond and is 100% meant to do this work.

I would encourage anyone considering having a doula to reach out to Sophia. I can't imagine what my experience would have been without her, we are so deeply grateful.

I recently had the pleasure of having Sophia as my Doula and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

From our initial meeting to the postpartum period, her support and guidance made a significant impact on my birthing and breastfeeding journey as a first time mom.

Sophia's calm and nurturing presence provided a sense of reassurance and comfort throughout the entire process. Her knowledge and understanding of childbirth were evident as she guided me through various pain management techniques and offered continuous emotional support. Her ability to create a positive environment in the birthing room was truly amazing.

During labor, she was a constant source of encouragement, offering words of affirmation and motivation that helped me stay focused and empowered. Having her there allowed her to help me communicate my needs effectively with the medical staff, ensuring that my birth preferences were respected and understood.

What sets Sophia apart is her commitment to my baby and I. She took the time to understand my individual needs and preferences, tailoring her support accordingly. From assisting with breastfeeding techniques to providing invaluable postpartum guidance, she demonstrated a genuine dedication to my overall well-being and that of my baby.

Additionally, her availability and responsiveness were exceptional. Whether I had questions or concerns during pregnancy or in the weeks following birth, she was always there, ready to provide guidance, resources, and a listening ear.

In summary, Sophia's provided unwavering support, expertise, and compassionate nature significantly impacted my birthing experience. Her presence not only allowed me to navigate the challenges of labor with confidence but also empowered me to make informed decisions along the way.

I am forever grateful for her invaluable role in the arrival of my baby and I hope to have her in our lives always.

Sophia was my Birth Dula as well as my postpartum. Having her a part of both experiences has been such a blessing. When I was almost two weeks overdue with my third baby, she was there physically and emotionally. She came to my home on two occasions and helped me feel relaxed with some body work and also listened while I shared how I was feeling. The evening before I was to be induced, she happily came over and we did some spinning babies and some light massage. The next morning early I finally went into labor. She arrived at the birth center and was with me from the beging to the end. She had asked me if there was a special food I would like for after I had the baby. Having food you like is a must! She was not only a good support to me in the birth process, but also to my husband Darran. My baby was born with a shoulder dystocia and I had no idea what that was. Things got tense towards the end. I was in labor for 13 hours with this little guy. When the midwives were busy with me, she was right there to offer comfort to my husband. I knew when I was home I would have good support for the first month. I asked Sophia if she could come back when I needed her. It was so nice to have her support later on when my husband went back to work.  I wanted to get out of the house and get some groceries. She went with me and made me dinner that night. While we ate she held the baby. It was nice to sit with my older two and have a meal. I don't think they had talked to me in at least a month with my full attention. She came another time and did the same as well as changing sheets and helping with laundry. All of these things I wish I had with my first two children. Family is temperamental and to have someone who is free of judgment is the best thing I believe a new or experienced mother could ask for. To know that you can be totally vulnerable, and unguarded through this time is priceless. I believe Sophia is a wonderful provider of this kind of space.

I stumbled upon Mamas Serving Mamas online when I was searching for a postpartum doula. I contacted Sophia and immediately could hear through that phone that she was genuine and wanted the best for me and our family.

We immediately hired her for post partum. I felt heard, supported, and informed. Sophia offered a grace that new mothers deserve to feel right after giving birth. She also gave me resources and advice for after birth care for myself and my baby.

Our baby had a really uncomfortable latch that was causing me a lot of pain. I was determined to breastfeed. After sharing this with Sophia she wanted us to ask our provider about a possible tongue tie. The provider DID confirm a tongue tie & Sophia had a fabulous reccomendation.

I can't recommend Mamas Serving Mamas enough!
