My husband and I were so happy to have found Julie and Bergen to support us during the birth of our second child. The prenatal class was very informative and made both of us feel comfortable, as if we had already known them for some time. Julie provided my labor and birth support, and she was attentive, calm, and did an amazing job holding space and providing counter pressure (all while 33 weeks pregnant herself). She also provided encapsulation services, which included a beautiful umbilical cord gift. They were packaged beautifully and I could see the time and love she put into her work.
Julie and Bergen know their stuff, are down to earth, and really take all your wishes/preferences into consideration to help you achieve the birth you desire.
Two rivers Childbirth provides amazing services to this area. Bergen was present at two of my births. Her calming presence and ability to anticipate what I needed was simply magical. Her encouraging words were just what I needed to hear, and I feel so blessed to have had someone by my side with such a thoughtful and caring spirit. The photos she captured during and after my son's birth are priceless treasures. Can't sing her praises enough.
Bergen was wonderful!
She came in about a week after our little girl was born and was immediately ready and attentive to our needs. Shewas kind and caring for both the mother and baby, andshe was extremely knowledgeable about baby care and baby wearing as I got to try some of her wraps. I was able to get some sleep while she watched the baby and she even made me a snack everyone I woke up. Super sweet and thoughtful. :)
I loved having Bergen around for the first week or so and I would highly recommend her to any future moms out there.
My husband and I hired Bergen to be our doula for the birth of our 2nd child. From the moment she was hired, she was caring and available to talk and answer any questions we had or point us in the right direction to find those answers ourselves. The weeks leading up to the birth were a bit intense (I went 2wks overdue) and she was always available to talk me through my feeling and encourage me. When labor finally started she was in constant contact with me in the early stages and came right away when my husband called her. Seeing her walk into the room made me cry... I was so relieved she was there! Her soft hands knew just what to do to ease the intense back labor I was experiencing and her calm soothing voice made me feel so safe and supported! Her presence really helped my husband too! He said just having her there gave him the confidence he needed to support me well. Something he felt he lacked in the labor of our first. We were so close and connected so much through the experience and that is largely in part to the care and support from bergen. I had an amazing and empowering birth! I'm so so grateful for her care and love! If we ever have another baby; I'd be thrilled to hire her again ??
Bergen was our birth doula for my wife’s third birth. We didn’t have doulas for the first two. Having a doula was a very different (and better) experience, from my perspective. She made the whole labor process, with all its fluids and moaning, seem normal. Seeing someone at the birth who wasn’t freaking out helped keep me from freaking out. Bergen told me things I could do for my wife (helpful things, even) that I wouldn’t have thought to do on my own. For the first birth, my focus was just on trying not to break anything. But with a doula, it's like having a magic helper that keeps you from screwing up and makes you look more competent than you are. My vote is that my wife can’t have any more babies without Bergen present.
Having a history of a stillbirth, I was looking for a birth doula who could be empathetic to my mix of emotions going through another pregnancy. Bergen was just what I needed. Her education, skills, and creative bag-of-tricks are top-notch, but what I valued the most was her personality. She's a great listener and has a rare ability to empathize deeply. It was a precious find to have someone who could be serious or light or quiet or firm or whatever the situation required.
She worked well with our other care providers, and we actually arranged one of our meetings during a prenatal appt with my midwife so everyone met ahead-of-time. Before the birth, she was a great support and a wealth of information for whatever random questions I threw at her (and she's wonderfully connected to other helpful networks!) She had information about options that I didn’t even realize were things to consider!
She was an invaluable presence for me (and my husband) during the birth, and it made us wish we had a doula for our first two deliveries. We would hire her again in a heartbeat!
Bergen is not only adorable and kind, but also full of Tons of knowledge and wisdom about childbirth and helping mothers! She comes from an amazing family full of Love And compassion!
Her and Julie came to teach classes at our house for a natural childbirth and i learned SOOO much!! I had a natural childbirth with no meds and labor and delivery was only 32 minutes from the time I arrived at the birth center & everything worked out so perfectly! I know that because of what I learned from Julie and Bergen and having their support, it made such a huge difference for me!!
