My husband and I agree that hiring doulas to be a part of our birth journey was one of our best decisions. Lawren had a playful energy that made you feel as if you were with a long time friend. She readily provided resources when I had an inquiry or interest throughout my pregnancy and postpartum. She provided YouTube videos, referrals to relevant professionals, researched-based materials, and advocacy groups. During our labor and delivery, she advocated for our needs while balancing the relationship between providers and patients (us). She was wonderful with providing positive affirmations and understanding my needs.

When I had my first baby, I didn’t have a postpartum doula, and looking back, I had no idea how much of a difference someone like Lawren could make. For my second baby, I decided to try a postpartum doula, and I can honestly say that Lawren’s support was a total game changer. From the moment she arrived, she brought an incredible sense of calm and balance to our home, helping me juggle both my newborn and my toddler with such ease.
Having gone through the postpartum period once without a doula, I didn’t realize how much extra support I was missing until Lawren showed up. She was more than just help with the baby—she cared for me in a way I never experienced the first time around. Whether it was guiding me through a non-stressful newborn bath, offering suggestions to soothe the baby, or giving me the opportunity to rest (and not feel guilty about it), Lawren gave me the tools and confidence to truly enjoy these early days.
What I appreciated most about Lawren was how intuitive and responsive she was. She seamlessly stepped in wherever she was needed, whether it was giving me some much-needed “me time” or helping around the house so I could focus on bonding with my baby. And all the while, she made sure my toddler also felt included and loved during the transition to having a sibling.
Choosing to have Lawren as part of my postpartum journey the second time around was one of the best decisions I could have made. Her presence made this experience feel so much more supported and less overwhelming than my first, and I’m so grateful for everything she did to help our family. If you’re on the fence about hiring a postpartum doula, trust me—it’s worth it, and Lawren is exceptional at what she does.

Working with Lawren was nothing short of amazing. She is thoughtful, knowledgable, and did a great job of providing all the type of support you would need as a birthing person. Throughout my pregnancy I was able to check in with Lawren about different things, discuss my preferences and priorities and how to address those needs with my providers. During my admission to the hospital Lawren was there to not only help set the ambiance in the hospital room but also provide moral and emotional support, to not just me, but also my husband. She always made me feel at ease and served as a sounding board for when things became complicated at the hospital and I was faced with making decisions I did not anticipate. If you're looking to work with a doula, and considering Lawren - I wouldn't hesistate to work with her again!

Lawren and Joslin were exceptional doulas, providing invaluable support during an exciting yet also tender and vulnerable time in our lives. Despite the array of emotions they encountered, they effortlessly connected with us, creating a bond that made the journey so much more manageable. Their perspectives and knowledge were instrumental in forming a much-needed support network for us. We highly recommend them without reservation – our experience working with Lawren and Joslin was extremely positive and we will forever be grateful to them.

Thank goodness for Lawren! So Lawren wasn't actually my doula.. hear me out. She was the "backup" doula that MY doula had coordinated "just in case" I went into labor on the ONE day she wasn't available. My husband and I met with Lawren and my doula once at our home and it was a great meeting but we figured what are the chances we're going to need her? WELL, we needed her. I was in labor at St.Peters on the very day my doula had a clinical for nursing school that she could not miss. Enter Lawren: with her bag of essential oils, fairy lights, and comfort. She was WONDERFUL. I had not had the opportunity to develop a rapport with her however that did NOT matter. Her presence was comforting and reassuring. Her suggestions her well-timed and appropriate. She turned a hospital bathroom into a cozy labor cave. If that's not magic I don't know what is. When I was cold, she wrapped me in her rebozo which she allowed me to keep. She stepped in and provided me with exactly what I needed and hoped to receive from a doula. She was a great advocate for me with the hospital staff. She has a great knowledge of labor techniques and strategies. I wholeheartedly recommend Lawren's services to anyone who is looking for a doula.

We were put in contact with Lawren by a postpartum doula we planned to work with because my birth plan had to change when I was informed the Dr was planning an induction. I had been working on birth prep with a different outcome in mind, and I had a lot of questions when I heard about the induction plan. Lawren was able to meet with us in person before the birth, more than once, despite our unorthodox situation of contacting her at the last minute. She gave us a run down of how inductions typically work, what I could expect, and most importantly empowered me so that I still felt that I could aim for the birth experience I wanted despite this last minute change in plans. She truly listened to what I was hoping for, what I was nervous about (this was our first child so it was all unknown), and what I was wondering, and she made me feel so much better when it came time to go in for our induction.
On the day, she was available and we were in contact via text as things progressed. Once we got going, it all happened fast, but Lawren was there, by our sides, helping me stay calm and making me feel like I still had a say in what was happening. She made sure I was as comfortable as I could be, and she stayed with us until we were being transferred to the recovery room after it all was over. There were so many little things Lawren was doing while we were in the thick of it, I am sure I'm not even aware of them all - cold compresses, back rubs, encouragement.... But the way she made me feel is most important in that moment. I felt I was safe, supported, listened to, and strong. That was invaluable.

As the husband, I had the privilege of witnessing Lawren's incredible support throughout our pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journey. My wife gave birth, and Lawren played an invaluable role in making the experience smooth and memorable for both of us. She excelled in communication, helping us craft a tailored birth plan and guiding me, a first-time dad, to be a supportive birthing partner. Lawren's expertise and her ability to work seamlessly with hospital staff made the labor experience much smoother and calmer. Her post-birth care and guidance during the postpartum period were invaluable. We can't thank Lawren enough for her unwavering support and recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone seeking an exceptional doula. She made our transition to parenthood a positive and memorable one.

I had the pleasure of having Lawren as my doula, and I can't recommend her highly enough. Her competence and deep knowledge of labor and delivery were evident throughout the process. She empowered me to make informed choices, and her attentiveness and excellent communication made me feel confident and supported. She was there every step of the way and always let me call her and ask a million questions!! Lawren's support during my pregnancy and labor was invaluable in many ways, particularly in helping me make informed choices. She went above and beyond by thoroughly explaining the pros and cons of various options, ensuring I understood the implications of each decision. Lawren's collaboration with the nurses and midwives at Burdett birth center was seamless, and it greatly contributed to the positive outcome of my birth experience. I look forward to having her by my side again for a second birth. I truly loved the care and support she provided.
